Thank you for your series on Flow 8! I'm interested in learning more about live streaming as well as recording using Flow 8. I hope you will be able to make video on the topic!
Great clear and concise videos. Thank you Drew for posting these great tutorials. Please Could you explain about Mixer Snapshots on setup section of Flow 8. Thanks in advance
Excellent video series on Flow 8! Its really difficult to find videos on this mixer/ audio interface. It will really helpful if you can explain a sample home studio setup using this with schematics! Once again thanks!
I could say as far as processing goes, it’s not very robust and I’m hoping they’ll expand on the one knob compression and lack of gate in a firmware update, but I’m not holding my breath. The limiter at the outputs work well enough to protect your speakers and the audience’s hearing. One other huge omission I think is the fact that they didn’t put the aux outs in the ASIO, you only get direct ins and the master. This means you can’t use it as a mix minus mixer via USB for zoom meetings or podcast with callers, which would seem to be a natural market for a mixer of this size. The PEQ is easily the best thing about this mixer though. The GUI could be more intuitive but it’s not hard to dial in good sound if you have experience with larger digital mixers.
Wondering if you could make a video discussing specifically configuring the USB outputs, and like, how to get audio from your DAW to play back through your monitors, specifically if your monitors aren't connected to the FLOW but just plugged into your PC, and also if they are plugged into your flow?
Great video, really helpful. I wonder if you can set it so that your monitor mix is the same as main mix, so that as you adjust your main output levels it mirrors this in your in ears?
Hey Drew, it will help the users if you can create a video explaining the Flow 8 connectivity with an iPad or a DAW, explore the options of possible individual outputs from the iPad/DAW to the Flow 8, i.e. Main L+R = Main Mix and MON1 and MON2 as individual MONO click/Mix tracks for the musicians with Main Mix capability. I really believe that the iPad or the DAW will detect the Flow 8 with 4x mono outputs channels, such creates a lot of possibilities for at least 3x individual mixes (Main (L+R), MON1 and MON2). For iPad use please assure you are using the USB adapter from Apple to create the connectivity with the Flow 8, Cheers.
Hi Drew, thanks for the content on the Flow 8! This is my first mixer and I am hoping to to setup a budget IEM system for a small band (wired likely). Would you be willing to make a video on how this could be done? Thanks!
Hi Drew! If we want to run a click and track, is there a way to do that without having to take up 4 channels on 5/6 and 7/8 as well as having to not use up the xlr inputs? Essentially, what’s the most efficient way to run tracks with click in the monitors? Thanks!
Amazing tutorials well done! I have a question. Can you send a monitor from software to the headphone out. The Monitor from traktor DJ ? I’m Currently using a small audio interface. Hoping to minimise my setup. The out put would need to be visible as a audio interface out.
Ok. Question for you - I want to use effects during a live set. I’m using the flow 8 with a variety of synth and drum machines. It’s live performance, not recording. I want to use headphones to preview effects or even patches coming into the channels without the channel being part of the main mix. You know… cueing like you’d do during a DJ set when matching up beats. What’s the best approach to do that. It seems like making a monitor mix with what we you want to preview and then routing that monitor to the headphone output would sort of work, but can you assign effects to output to a monitor ? Or do they by default? So, my question is how I can use the flow 8 to preview something f like a delay or choose a new patch on a synth and preview it in my headphones before deciding to add it to the main mix.
Hi Drew, how are you? Simple question, I cannot figure out.. can I record the output of the monitors from my computer? On the computer I see an input named "Master/Monitor L/R - FLOW 8" but it only takes the output of the Main, not the monitors. I would love to have the feature I want. Best and thank you for your videos.
I hope you see this, im trying to record on the flow 8 but i cant get it to record on my laptop without having the laptop audio going into the flow 8. The problem with that is when i try to play back what i recorded, or have the recording play while i play the next instrument, i cant do this. Is it possible to play the laptop audio from the DAW while recording another instrument using the flow 8?
Hi Drew, I hope you're doing well. I have a quick question about the Behringer Flow 8 mixer. I'm trying to configure the monitor outputs to mirror the main outputs directly from the mixer without using the Flow 8 app. Could you please guide me on how to do this using the physical buttons and controls on the mixer? Thanks in advance for your help! Best regards, Ivan Olaf --- Feel free to modify it as needed.
Hi, not sure if you're still replying to this thread, but wondering how many monitor mixes this board has? Based on your description it sounds like two. One for each monitor out. Just wanted to double-check before I purchase. Thank you!
Hi! Is still possible to send USB Computer return to the Phones OUT Jack? I guess so, by simply routing the monitor outs to the phones jack, as explained in the video, right? I would want to buy the flow8 to be able to have a separate/indipendent mixer for singers that want to balance their voice and the backing tracks in the headphones on their own, simply adjusting the usb return ( from which I will send the stereo Backing track) and the microphone input.. If this one was straight connected to the Flow8 (used also as a pre+compressor+Eq and so on) I will still be able to record the voice on my DAW, while the USB Return from the DAW itself will be routed back to the F8 for the backing track? So basically a bilateral connection MIXER INPUT(s) -> DAW -> Usb Return for the Backing track? Is this possible? Thanks a lot for the cool video explanation of this tiny but powerful gear. Cheers!
Your videos have been very helpful, so I wonder if you can help me make something happen that isn't working for me. I'm using my Flow 8 when practicing with a quintet with a singer and sax player. I'm trying to add reverb to the sax player's mic without putting any direct sax through the mains, because he's plenty loud already. I've tried it two ways without success and wonder if there's some nuance in the routing that I'm missing. Here's what I think I tried, if memory serves. The mains have the vocalist's mic, my keyboard, some bass, and a mic the sax player uses when doubling on flute, all going through a pair of small powered speakers. I expected that if I set the effects sends as pre-fader, sent the effects to a monitor output and hooked the monitor out to second input on my powered speakers that I'd be able to leave the sax main fader at zero but turn up the sax channel to the effects to get a 100% wet reverb signal that I can pipe into the speaker. That didn't seem to work. Thanks for any light you can shed.
Why is the FX level higher in monitor compared to Main output? When setting reverb at a certain level, it sounds great through main output but when the same FX is sent through monitor, the FX level is too much. So either you turn down the FX level to compensate (which is not good result) or remove FX from routing through monitor output. Any ideas?
Give that thing Motorised faders ant its best all you need/want console for small bands ( 2singers,piano,saxophone,base,acustic drums and some percusions) One monitor wedge - 2inear.
Very good Videos Thank you ! May be you can help me. I am using my Flow 8 on Stage with 2 Aktive Speakers MAIN OUT. At the same time I have a Split cable coming from Phones Output into 2 Stereo OUT. One Stereo Out I use as a kind of Monitor. The other stereo out goes to my Taskam for Recording my Live Performance. The Problem is that the Signal is far too loud and I get distortion, even if I turn the input Volume to ZERO. I could turn the Volume of the Headphone down. - But then the signal is to weak for my Monitoring. Is there a way to copy the main Signal to the Monitor Outputs and record from there with a decent LEVEL . I am using this kind of monitoring because i can control the loudnes imediately wth on physical knob. And its a kind of mirror what is going to the main outputs. Do you have an Idea for what could be best for me. Thank you

Hey Drew, Would you please do a video for DJs using the Flow 8 as an external mixer or Ceremony system with Mics and processing. Thanks.
I’ve been using this as a wedding DJ. What would you like to know?

I need the answer for the exact same question, Anybody ?
if i have the need for 3 monitors for a trio , how would i do that?
Is there a way to use the monitor outputs as a booth or control room output?
how can I make the MON1 and MON2 sends post main mix? I want to use the outputs for sub's and remote speakers

Hi If I change the EQ on any of the channels, does it affect the monitor mix? like a pre eq for instance
Hola, me gustaria saber como podemos enviar una señal de un solo canal unciamente a los audifinos? es posible?

I also want to know this!!
Hi. Can I send my monitor mix to PC via USB, or I can send only Main mix signal?

Try to use the same speaker/headphones. Different type of speakers have their own EQ callibration that may affect the shape/intensity of FX
