    Awesome. I have been to Nassau about three or four times and only hang out at the cruise port, that's where I feel comfortable.

      Thank you for your kind words! The great thing about cruising is that there's plenty for everyone... drinkers, non-drinkers, and everything in-between. :) Just find what you like and enjoy!!!

    Great Video! Best info for Nassau Bahamas. You have so much CLEAR information.
    We will be visiting Nassau in Late August for the first time (on a Carnival cruise) with 2 teenager. I was wondering if we should purchase a city tour since we don't know where we are going. Should we buy the tour from the ship which I know is more expensive? Do you know of a reliable tour vendor or should we just explore since that is our 1st time?
    Thanks for any suggestion.

    • @TheJellyBeans
      @TheJellyBeans  5 лет назад +1

      We've only explored Nassau on our own, so we don't have a recommendation for a tour vendor. If you don't feel comfortable exploring on your own, your cruise ship should have MANY excursions to choose from and then you can see if you would be more comfortable for your next visit.

    Is it safe to walk around these areas you are talking about?

    • @TheJellyBeans
      @TheJellyBeans  4 года назад +1

      We've walked these areas with no problems on several trips, but we still recommend you always remain highly aware of your surroundings and leave all valuables on the ship no matter what port you're visiting.

    did you walk to go on all this attractions on your video? do you advise to take taxi to Atlantis from port?

    • @TheJellyBeans
      @TheJellyBeans  Год назад

      We've walked to most of the attractions in the video, but highly recommend a taxi or ferry if you're going to Atlantis. We've done that walk and it's *extremely* long and tough. Similarly, if you're interested in some of the attractions further to the west or south, you might want a taxi to avoid longer walks.

    I went to Nassau in 2018 in a cruise luckily my dad knows a man who owns 3 or more hotels and he was nice enough to give us a tour of the towns the island and one of his hotels

    I’m interesting greycliffs chocolate making class and their afternoon tea...is that a safe walk from the cruise terminal?

    • @TheJellyBeans
      @TheJellyBeans  4 года назад +1

      We've made the walk to that area (and beyond) several times with no issues. It's about a 10-15 minute walk and it's mostly uphill on the way there. As with all ports, just make sure you stay vigilant any time you leave the cruise terminal area on your own.

    I have about 37 days for my family. I would like to know are the excursions worth it in Nassau or can we travel on our own.

    • @TheJellyBeans
      @TheJellyBeans  2 года назад +1

      It really depends on what excursions you're looking at. We always travel on our own when we visit Nassau.

    Don’t know why but 1 usd to 1 Bahamian dollar doesn’t sound right.

    • @TheJellyBeans
      @TheJellyBeans  4 года назад

      You can check the exact exchange rate by searching "bahamian dollar to usd" The current exchange is 1:1, and even when it's not, the locals will use 1:1 to keep things simple.

    Where would you recommend we rent a car from while in Port Canaveral for the day only?

    • @TheJellyBeans
      @TheJellyBeans  2 года назад

      You should be fine to shop the major companies. Just make sure they offer shuttle service from/to the port for the times you're docked. For example, some of them close early on weekends, so you would need to take a taxi back to the port.

      A large portion of Downtown Nassau has sidewalks that are fairly well maintained. You may run into some of the ongoing construction at the new cruise terminal and some sidewalks that have issues, but we don't think it would be too much of a problem. Beyond the downtown area, you'll really only find paved roads and they're not always well-maintained.

    Just arrived from Nassau. This video does not reflect the reality of that island. Most of the business are closed. Prices are exaggerated high, most taxi drivers are a total rip-off. In conclusion, I will never go back.

    • @yeetlol3537
      @yeetlol3537 4 года назад +4

      I live there and All I'm gonna say your expectations are too high. Even though you go to Paradise doesn't mean there's no trouble. I could accept criticism of my country but just know we have issues too. I just hate the assumption we have no issues but we do, I'm just saying have reasonable expectations.

      Stay on the ship then do what you want. You could at least look at the water while you leave.

      Actually, Nassau and Paradise Island escaped relatively unharmed. The storm hit about 100 miles further to the north at Great Abaco and Grand Bahama (Freeport). The Bahamas Tourism Ministry has stated that the Nassau airport (Lynden Pindling) remains open, Nassau and Paradise Island hotels remain open, and "Nassau ports are open and operating on their normal schedule." www.bahamas.com/hurricane-and-storm-information
