We always like to get off the ship to experience the port. But our besties sometimes enjoy staying onboard. Perhaps someday I'll do that, but for now, I want to ADVENTURE at port! We've only been to Nassau twice, once was a girls trip where we walked to the Queen's Staircase and up to Fort Fincastle (this was a great affordable option); also have done an all-inclusive resort at Breezes with our family. Looking at heading over to Blue Lagoon with a cruiseline excursion at our next stop.
1st trip we stayed in the tourist area within 3 blocks of the cruise port. 2nd trip we walked to Junkanoo Beach where we were hassled to buy trinkets the whole time and spent a small mint at Senior Frogs. 3rd trip we stayed on the boat and enjoyed the crowd-free environment. With the new warnings we don't plan to get off there on any future cruises.

TONY , your on fire dude. That was one of the best videos you’ve ever made. My family will be on MSC Divina and in Nassau on Friday. Can’t wait ! THANK YOU…….
Tony, thanks for the Nassau port tour. Looks like they’ve done a great job of creating an experience for travelers who were nervous about the port because they’d heard about the aggressive sales tactics.
I am glad you posted this. I have stayed on the ship the last 3 times we stopped in Nassau. I will give it a shot in May when we stop on the Carnival Venezia.
Just don't leave the port. Once you do you will see the real Nassau... I tried walking to the beach and was almost robbed. The port is fenced in for a reason
Hi Tony. Greated by a giant "towel elephant" in Nassau 😊. That is a very cool screen! The port looks so much more inviting than in the past. Yes, I would get off the ship now with the new port. That is a crazy amount of money, WOW! Thank you for all you do ❤
Tony, happy you are able to be in your happy place before surgery. Loved the tour! You take care and enjoy the rest of your cruise! Shout out to Jennie B too !
We were there last year and had to walk down Front St. to get to our boat ride to go to Cabbage Beach. We were hassled on Front Street and at the beach so much that my husband said he would never get off the ship again in Nassau. But, never say never. We were in Nassau this past Friday. We took a catamaran that picked us up at the dock for our excursion at Sun Cay, so we didn't see the new port. When we returned from the excursion that's where they dropped us off. We thought it looked great, but it is a long way back to the ship. It was quite nice to be hassle free though.
We are going to Nassau in October and had planned not to get off the ship but after seeing this video we will be getting off the ship. We were so tired of the hassle that it wasn’t worth our time to get off. This is a welcome change. Thanks for letting us know about this wonderful upgrade.
I am so happy that you made this video, I was actually passing up cruises that stopped in Nassau because of the horrible experience we had there in the past. Now I know this could be a very pleasant place to visit once again in the future.
Thank you for posting this, Tony!! I was never a fan of Nassau and normally stayed on the ship because i didn't want to be haggled by having to go through the straw market. It looks like they did a great job with revitalizing the port! I'm now looking forward to my next cruise to Nassau!
I love getting our photos Taken in each poet. Those are my memories i treasure. I have so many from our 1st cruise. And means the world to me because after our cruise got cancelled to covid multiple times and then my dad paseed from covid. So we only got to take one family cruise ever. I thank god every day for that opportunity
7:22 me and my mom went to nassau 3 days ago on Allure of the Seas. That private yacht was also there. It's called Seven Seas. It's owned by Steven Spielberg. It was very cool to see it in person!
Last time we stopped at Nassau they were under construction in that area. We got off and saw the mess and got right back in the ship. Looks good now, so next time I’ll get off. Thanks for the tour.
I really enjoy shopping in Nassau. I have always felt safe, walked blocks and blocks! Take my little granddaughters and act as alert as in DC and Baltimore. Enjoy your visit
@@candiceb8284 Absolutely. Just being aware is worth so much when it comes to safety. Sprinkle in some good ole’ fashioned common sense and you manage to keep clear of most unsafe things. There is so much to see and enjoy when you approach an area like a local as opposed to a tourist.
Thanks Tony very informative video and it’s nice to hear someone say something good about the new port! Hope you had a great cruise and the best on your surgery.🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼🥰🛳️🏖️🏝️🦩⚓️🍀😊
I was on the Carnival Liberty and in Nassau on February 17 when you were. Wish I had known you were there. I stayed on the ship because we have been to Nassau so many times and we just wanted to enjoy the Carnival Liberty while most of the guests were off ship. Thanks for the video. you are doing some great work.
We were just there last week and did the Pirates Museum on George street. Then we had some beers at the cafe outside of the museum. Love those Radler beers, guava, passion fruit, cranberry, etc..!
CA- Rooosin!! OMGOMGOMG! Tony! What a fun video! Loved the side by side of the ships and especially the 3D screen with the shark! How fun was that? Thankyou!
The first tug was an assist tug, like you said mainly used to assist ships in and out of port. That particular tug was a “Tractor Tug” it has as much power side ways as it does forward or backwards. The second tug was a tow boat, mainly used to tow barges either astern or alongside. Not nearly as maneuverable.
Wow, what an amazing job they’ve done finishing the Nassau Cruise Port. Haven’t been there since January 2023. $300 mil is a lot of money, and it looks well spent. Those six ships have to have brought in close to 25k passengers for the day in Nassau. I’m loving the multiple exits, enabling you to pop out at different locals, avoiding the high pressure hassles. Thanks for doing this spectacular video. I’m sure you got in a ton of steps doing this one. Thanks for all that you and Jennie B do for the Cruising Community.
While I have sailed on about 20 different cruises/cruiselines, I never tire of seeing the ships parked at the piers. Exciting, exhilarating and just plain fun! Thanks for the tour Tony.
We were in Nassau just two weeks ago and that yacht was there also! The new port is beautiful and relaxing. We walked down to the end and sat on a bench for awhile and people watched. No one bothered us. We also went out to the straw market and had to say no thanks many times but everyone respected that. The new port allows you to stretch your legs, get fresh air and buy something without harassment so I say it's a definite get off the ship port now. Great video!
Thanks for the break from the freezing winter weather at home. Love the stroll through the port market. Sun, sea and even grass! Warmed me up just watching.
It is beautiful what they have done there… but, we were there in 07…. it was so quaint and cool. There was even a taxi church there we got to be apart of early in the morning. Yes… you did get bombarded at first and almost run over at times. We are hopeless romantics and loved it as it was back then!
I also was just in Nassau and had a wonderful experience. I went outside the gate too and was not pressured by anyone to buy anything. People were lovely and had a really good time.
I've only visited Nassau once on a cruise, and it was my first ever cruise a few years back. I heard about the redevelopment of the port, and did worry it was going to make the area very commercialised and spoil it, but I really like what you've shown us here. That 3D screen you showed us - WOW!
Hi Tony What a nice look see you gave us of the port. We were there last august and it’s very nice. We did the straw market as well. As with any port I’d say be mindful of your surroundings but I think I’d like to go back again. I love seeing all those ships in port.
Thank you. Very much appreciated. We have been to Nassau years ago a few times and we always got harassed by the people coming off the boat. They would actually make fun of us after we told them "No thank you." But the new port seems more inviting. We are sailing in on Liberty of the Seas in April, and to be honest we were thinking of staying on the boat before your video. But after your video it makes me want to check out the new cruise port. Thanks!
I haven't been to Nassau in years but I do remember getting bombarded by vendors which is why we stopped taking cruises that went there. Your video makes me want to give it another shot. Thanks Tony!
This video really makes me ready to get back to work. I absolutely love cruising. I just truly believe cruising is the best way to go on vacation. Everything you need is in one location. I miss Nassau. Thanks for all you do
Our first trip to Nassau was Feb 2023. I was not impressed and did not want to return. The port was still under construction. There where people everywhere trying to get you to buy thing. I will now be returning to Nassau for a visit. Thank you Tony!!!!!
Tug boats are fascinating, because they’re small but powerful and highly maneuverable! A couple weeks ago I was on the Venezia videotaping a tug pushing us into Pier 88, and that tugboat moved sideways! I didn’t know they could do that!
We were just there in fall & had a wonderful Taxi driver for the day. We hired him in the port area. He told us every driver in the port is background checked & vetted. They can't even have a ticket on their record. If they get a ticket, they lose their port permit. Also, the shops in port CANNOT have different pricing than their in-town shops. So whether you buy Graycliff Chocolate at their main store, or the port store, the prices will be the same. ❤
Tony this was one of the most fun videos you’ve done in a while! Loved seeing all the ships and people! The screen was soooo cool! Looking forward to going back there. It was all still under construction in Jan 2023.
We've been to Nassau twice since their main shopping district (Bay Street) became a ghost town. Our first time back, we witnessed a group of religious zealots harass a family (with children) because there were two adult women in the group. Some very homophobic ranting was involved. We told a local cop about it; he laughed. The second time, we visited "Diamonds International" near Hard Rock. We bought a loose diamond, and they told us to carry it in a pocket, while they gave us a "dummy" bag to carry as a decoy for theft. One of their security guards escorted us back to our ship. If our next cruise includes a trip to Nassau, we're staying onboard. Years ago, you could walk to Paradise Island from the port. Now, you're risking your life.
@@Gottaknow - I wish you'd had the pleasure of seeing it "before", on Bay Street; right on the ocean. Sidewalk cafés with local food, discount outlet stores for crystal, locally-made crafts, jewelry, even a Burger King. It was absolutely beautiful to walk all the way from the (current) port to the double "high arch" bridges to Paradise Island. It was postcard beautiful. That's a high-crime area now with posted advisories on-site. And the current tourist areas are just for shopping; the dining is questionable. Although, there was still a "Hard Rock" there during out last (and final) visit in 2019. But who wants American food when traveling to The Bahamas? Also, I'm glad you weren't harrassed. Since you didn't have kids with you, you weren't perceived as a "family." Good for you. I'm glad you had a good time.
I remember that area, back in the 1980's. I watched Atlantas being built in several stages. Walked up past the government house and the chocolate factorytour area. No one bothered us but very creepy. We were there April 2
Thanks for the update on Nassau. The last time there (a long time ago) I also felt hasselled by vendors. Going on a family reunuion cruise in May to the Bahamas and Nassua is a stop. I had said that I was not leaving the ship at this port of call based on that last visit. After seeing your update today I may venture out after all. Thanks You!
Thank you for the tour! I will consider making another trip there. I was scared so greatly my first time there that I have never had the desire to go back.
Enjoyed seeing the ships along your walk down the pier. Having the shaded areas along the way makes it nicer. The aquarium screen show was fun and the update to the port looks great! The water is so blue and the whole area at the port is a big improvement. People should get off the ship. I would like to check out that museum.
Great video, Tony - I heard you mentioned you have never been on the Allure? I am 99% sure you have, as I met you on the Allure, and you were with John from the Shipshow back in October of 2022; it was an 8-day cruise to the Southern Caribbean, and you actually encouraged me to start a channel and gave me some incredible advice. Advice I use every day! Thanks for everything you do!
Thanks for showing this! Me and my family in recent years stopped getting off the ship in general at Nassau whenever it was a stop because of all the aggressive sales tactics. After this video Ill definitely consider checking out the new port at Nassau now!
Atlantis is so beautiful I’m so excited to go there for the first time at the end of this month! I’m ignoring the haters and i am going to have an amazing time seeing a place from my bucket list ❤
Oh my gosh Tony I loved seeing the 3D screen! We haven't been to the new port so it was fun to see everything. I always love seeing the different ships docked together. Thank you for a great video!
That was a great tour of Nassau, Tony! We've been wondering what it was like since all of the work had been done there. It's really nice. I think there will be lots more people getting off their ships now. I think we will feel a lot more comfortable/secure about going ashore. Thanks for sharing all of this with us, Tony!!
Thanks for the great tour of the new Nassau Bahamas cruise port! The last few times my husband & I visited Nassau, it was in the middle of completion. We remember seeing the various buildings being painted those beautiful bright colors and the outdoor stage area. So cool to see it finished and so much more inviting!
Can't believe I missed this video as I have been curious about the new port area. I love the 3D show, thanks for filming it. I am looking forward to checking out the new area the next time I go to Nassau. 🌴
Yes, we got off the ship and explored the area within the fence. It's what worked for us at the time. I think it's a really smart move for Nassau. Options are the way to go. Thanks for the walking tour, I think it will help a lot of people who otherwise may stay on the ship.
Hey, Tony! Thanks so much for sharing the best look at the new Nassau cruise port we've seen so far. The last time we were there, late 2021, there was nothing like this, and we experienced all of the "harassing" you mentioned. Plus with all of the travel advisories/warnings about being careful in Nassau lately, we might have felt like we wanted to skip it entirely later this year. But thanks to you and this look, I think we can spend a pleasant little bit of time off the ship at this port. Thanks!
Thanks for sharing Tony. It bought back memories. We went to the Blue Lagoon Island for our excursion few years ago. Also, we went to the Atlantis. Those are huge ships side by side. I enjoyed this video.
Thank you for this in depth video of the newly improved Nassau. The last time my family and I was there was 2015 and it was so aggressive. The Blue Lagoon attraction boats dropped us right in front of the straw market and my oldest son uses a wheelchair, I kid you not we were ambushed as we were on the dock right next to boat. All trying to help us find the wheelchair exit which we appreciated , but then the hard selling and pushiness began. My 17 yr old son was being offer cigars, buy this, come to my shop etc. We vowed never again would we leave the ship in Nassau. Your video has opened up the possibility of getting off and having a nice experience. Ty
I have been to Nassau a few times in the past and been there seen that. But your video gave me incentive to want to visit this port once again. Thank you Tony.
This was actually the most informative cruise video I have seen in a while. I didn’t realize how extensive the renovations were and that they weren’t just cosmetic. I’m actually looking forward to getting off the ship next time and checking it out. Thanks.
*QUESTION* - _Is Nassau a see or skip port for you?_

Have never gotten off for Nassau…
Yep, only after we eat our Filipino food
1st trip we stayed in the tourist area within 3 blocks of the cruise port. 2nd trip we walked to Junkanoo Beach where we were hassled to buy trinkets the whole time and spent a small mint at Senior Frogs. 3rd trip we stayed on the boat and enjoyed the crowd-free environment.

I just like to get off to stretch my legs most recently in Nassau just walked the pier shops and returned to ship
"not everyone has to travel the same way" YES! Thank you for saying this, Tony.👍👍
Your excitement when you see cruise ships, and your genuine love for cruising, is so contagious. You are their greatest Ambassador. The Sea Turtle, Squid, Manta Ray, and Shark were so cool. That alone is worth getting off the ship.
What a hike to get to the end of the pier!!!
Ya i meant to say it but it was about 3000 steps to the end and back.

We were there in mid December and it certainly is a hike. I think there were 7 other ships in port when we were there.
Really need to be in good shape to cruise.
3000 steps is over a half a mile walk; add the terminal and it is over a mile walk;
Forget about as too tired to go into town

Oh, btw...thanks for keeping us in your video! ❤
Enjoyed seeing the ships along your walk down the pier. Having the shaded areas along the way makes it nicer. The aquarium screen show was fun and the update to the port looks great! The water is so blue and the whole area at the port is a big improvement. People should get off the ship. I would like to check out that museum.
Love these ship spotting videos! Brings me back to stepping off a ship and exploring ports
Thank you Tony!! Nice video of the port and all to see and do. Yes I would get off to shop and check out the new port.
Thanks for showing this! Me and my family in recent years stopped getting off the ship in general at Nassau whenever it was a stop because of all the aggressive sales tactics. After this video Ill definitely consider checking out the new port at Nassau now!
We were in Nassau in February 2020. Wow has it changed. It looks amazing. Have to plan a cruise back.
AWESOME show on the screen, we really enjoyed that. We will stop and watch that when we go on the Elation in April. Can’t wait to see the new area.
Atlantis is so beautiful I’m so excited to go there for the first time at the end of this month! I’m ignoring the haters and i am going to have an amazing time seeing a place from my bucket list ❤
Thanks for showing Liberty OTS. We will be on her in May and looking forward to it!
Oh my gosh Tony I loved seeing the 3D screen! We haven't been to the new port so it was fun to see everything. I always love seeing the different ships docked together. Thank you for a great video!
I way loved the tour, absolutely including the aquarium screen!
That immersive screen was really cool!!! Enjoyed the pier, Tony.
The tank graphics were so cool! Thanks for sharing! Amazing ❤
Such a hike! I do love all the covered area and benches they’ve added. Love the big screen in port.
Thanks for taking us through there Tony! I haven’t been since they finished it so I loved seeing how it’s changed!
Cool that you did this Tony. We've been there many times but not since construction was completed.
Thanks bud for the video. I'll be there next week, looks pretty darn easy to get from ship to the new port and choose whether to go beyond for a tour.
Tony thank you for showing me this nasua excersions. Very interesting
It was very nice to meet you yesterday on the Lido deck - thanks for the selfie!
It's like a whole shopping village. So different from my last visit. Thanks for the tour.
This was actually the most informative cruise video I have seen in a while. I didn’t realize how extensive the renovations were and that they weren’t just cosmetic. I’m actually looking forward to getting off the ship next time and checking it out. Thanks.
Excellent tour of the new port! We haven’t been to Nassau since 2015. Time to cruise!! 🛳️
Thank You Tony! I appreciate you showing the new port area. I’ll get off to see it the next time we stop in Nassau!
The new port looks beautiful. Thanks for the video tour.
