Im excited to travel back home
I was not born there but my mom was as a kid i grew up there after 911 in the USA a passport was required. and forwarded to 2024 i final got one it was extremely stressful because when you have 1 parent that was not born here in the USA they want to know everything and even keep your original birth certificate but they send it back . This trip is going to absolutely touching. And very sensitive but i miss you bahamas and i will see you and my family in june❤ thank you for the video it give me insight of my old memory's but I know what is new in the island. I do keep up on crime because I do have international news i watch and you are correct most is gang related so I know your on point. Thank you I needed this

Thank you so much fir your video about Nassau. Thank you..I'm a Tampaina of Bahamian descent. This is the best and most rewarding video I have seen done about Nassau. Nassau is a beautiful place and the Bahamian people the best. I don't understand why some like to complain so much about Nasssu, the vendors, etc., ..but yet go to other places and don't complain. Thank you, thank you...Nassau, the capital, of the Bahamas on New Providence Island, is such a beautiful place. Will be sharing your video with all. Now Harbour Island, Pink Sand Beach, you must visit it sometime.

If I had seen your video years ago, I wouldn't have been so against going to the Bahamas for years. Everyone I know that went to Nassau and Freeport said it was awful and they hated it. But I went with a friend a few years ago, and oh my goodness it was STUNNINGLY beautiful and maybe the best vacation I've had yet. We're going back in June and I can't wait!
Yea people tend to exaggerate whatever limited experience they've had. Theres negatives like anywhere else but so much more positive

The Bahamas is not apart of the Caribbean Sea, although Eleuthera the bahamas has the best of both seas Caribbean Sea and Atlantic sea

I have visited Nassau 12 times over the last 10 years (cruises) and this video is probably one of the best I've seen that really covers a lot of ground in a concise way! When I was asked if it was safe in Nassau I told them never to walk more than 3 streets away from the waterfront. You show the exact area where to stay away from! All the beaches you covered and somethings that are new that I hadn't seen yet. Athol Island having pigs is new. We went there back in 2014 and it was desolate other than a boat stop to snorkel.

Its still beautiful, there wasn't very much damage
I lived with the locals for 19 days. I didnt just see the nice beaches and the fancy hotels, I also saw everything else. The poor pepole, the poverty (yea if you dosent got a job you dosent got any money at all).
Like a man over there said ”If you got the money it is a paradise, if you dont then it's hell.
Ps the locals are very nice and helpful, i even hired a local guy as a guide (yea he was crimial) but he showed me around for almost 2h, i paid for the bus, food and alcohol and give him 20$ for this and he was thankful.
It was a great trip, and a memory of a lifetime.

This was a very informative video for someone who's never visited the Bahamas, but that being said, the presenters comment about the "neighborhoods to avoid" Over the hill kind of cheesed me off a little bit. I'm a Canadian but have been coming to the Bahamas for 15 years now, and I go everywhere, and im yet to have any serious problems. I have a vacation house in Nassau. I am not naive that some neighborhoods get a little more crime than others, but I wouldn't be as concerned as this fellow is. Very little happens to tourists. There are certainly crimes that do occur, but it is usually petty stuff. And it's also more people who go there for drugs and partying. I wouldn't worry too much about visiting the neighborhoods outside the tourist zones as long as you're not up to any mischief.

Hi, you mentioned the queens stair case if walking will need to go thru not so good neighborhoods. My question is im a single woman going with my 13 and 19 year old sons. We planned to walk there when going in july, I myself am used to tuff neighborhoods for where i grew up was in miami fl. Do you think we can manage walking on our own or can you give a example please , are these neighborhoods possibly dangerous as far as muggings. Thank you in advance for your help
I think if you are going when you see other tourists walking there, like in middle of day you'll be fine. I would just be alert if it's just only you and your kids. The travel advisory mention the area south of Shirley Street and the Queens Staircase is south of it although not by much. I have not heard of an incident recently around there.

Hi. I am currently living in Miami. However, I was born and grew up about 15 minutes from the Queen's Staircase. You do not necessarily have to walk through a residential area to get there. The area that it is located in is a commercial/business region. Also, close by is the American embassy and the main hospital. That area is busy and always visited by many tourists. So, during the daytime you should be fine. But, like going anywhere that you may not be familiar with I suggest to always be cautious.

Yes you can, really the #10 goes to all the tourist areas with the exception of Paradise Island

I use mostly a Mavic Air2s, but didn't do the drone shots in this video. I had the drone with me but couldn't get permission from the Bahamian Government in time, so didn't fly it, the aerial shots were stock footage. I got lucky going through customs because they are supposed to confiscate your drone if you don't have the permission letter from the government.

We were aboard a carnival ship just two weeks ago and we decided to stay on the boat at Nassau... It was fantastic.... Before then on other cruises we did not feel safe wandering around Nassau as an USA tourist...

You watched a sensationalized news report that even. First of all that happens all over the world a lot more in Cancun than it happened this one time in the Bahamas. Second of all the camera CCTV at the resort don’t match up with what the women are saying. The two gentlemen have not been charged. I wouldn’t be surprised if they were getting some local pipe, once again, that’s speculating which I don’t know but it’s just as possible as what you were trying to say happened. Married women should never go on vacation to places like that.
True it does happen more in Cancun, hopefully that resort releases the proof about the CCTV cameras not matching up, they might just be trying to cover their ass too. The truth should come out soon

I'm not aware that theres been any evidence that it wasn't true. The resort only said their story didn't match the time stamp on their cameras, but they never released that footage. A nurse who treated them seem to back up their story
