I had a 92 Camaro RS with that same engine and the same issues with heat and idle. This could also explain why your air conditioning setting is still blowing hot air, but on mine the heater control valve, which is up by the passenger side in front of the engine, was going bad. It's that little black thing right behind the AC compressor. I know technically you guys don't fix stuff but maybe let the new owner know, that could be the issue.

Cleaning the MAF might fix your idling issue. Could be low compression in one cylinder, idle speed sensor might need to be adjusted, or could need new pistons and rings which would suck.

Sorry to burst ppl's bubble but that IS NOT a OEM 1991 Trans am ... I owned a 1991 Trans am GTA ... It has a different Rear Spoiler/ Tail lights.
Base model Firebird that Stock Flat rear deck lid spoiler/Base model rear taillight - the 91-92 Formula had the Trans am/GTA rear spoiler/ Base model taillights/and the hood scoop was built into the hood curving on the left side - Base model Trans am had the same hood scoop .. GTA model had a Flat hood with built in Louvers .. The Trans am GTA models came with Leather Seats and a Tuned Port motor ... Cloth seats were Base Firebird/Formula .... The Hood Scoop on the vehicle is a Cheap Ebay Plastic one held on with 2 sided tape painted Black .... Sorry not Worth 10k.
Wrong tires as they should be 245/50/16 on the Replica GTA wheels which were Deep dish on OEM models .. Windshield needs replaced .. I'm sure that vehicle has been repainted too at some point in its life.
$2500 - $5000 car honestly with the miles if they are original

1991’s lazy tribute to the famous 77, just wasn’t enough time gone by from that 3rd movie that we don’t like to admit exists. The body style was too close.
Fun fact: Smokey and the Bandit 3 was originally titled “Smokey IS the Bandit and starred Jackie Gleason aka “Sheriff Buford T Justice” as the smokey and also as the bandit in some weird head trip he was on about never catching the bandit. Word has it that the movie tested so poorly that they called Jerry Reed in and re shot all of the bandit scenes and edited them into the movie. It is also rumored that the Gleason family bought every copy of the movie in existence and either destroyed them or vowed that the public would never see it. How I wish I could watch the original cut!!
All of that being said, I just can’t “BOO” a damn bandit tribute!! Thwarted again Nick!! 😒

I believe the original was a 76 with a 77 front clip. I have an 80 bandit with a 454 in it. It originally was a 301 turbo distinguished by the offset shaker and the solid "turbo" wheels. Thankfully mine got a new hood when they changed engines but kept the turbo wheels that I like because they are different than the honeycomb.
