    No T-Tops = no creaking & leaking, but they were a huge deal for most of my buyers, back in my days with Pontiac (early 80s, selling late model used versions).
    Often folks when trading up would request no tops. Solid top, Baby!

      That's funny, I'm a hard top coupe guy, myself. Born in '87, my favorite car is the Ls1 Trans Am, black and Ws6 of course. Almost all of them have T-Tops, and I really don't like them but everybody who rides in mine asks about the T-Tops and thinks they're cool. Go figure, haha

      Except that’s not a W72 Pontiac engine. It’s a base Pontiac 400 pushing 180 Hp
      The shaker call outs should say 6.6 liter
      The TA 6.6 was only for W72 cars, this car has a base “Pancho”.
      Still a great car

    Are these supposed to be stock with technology from 1978? The exhaust was not at all what it originally came with. This car has headers that look to go straight into mufflers. I don't care for them on these vehicles, but catalytic converters are required, and the original exhaust collected both sides to one tube that goes through the cat then splits and goes to the turn downed dual tips behind the rear wheels.

    Missing the correct splitter exhaust pipes and wrong call outs on the shaker. Should say 6.6 liter. But over a REALLY nice car and someone scored a great deal on it .

    • @thebacdoc6464
      @thebacdoc6464 Год назад +1

      I know in 79 the 6.6 liter was a olds 403 engine, but the 6.6 liter in 78 was just the standard 400 with 200 hp correct? I know the t/a 6.6 has another 20 hp as well.
      I know that engine only came with a 4spd in 79, but in 78 wasnt the automatic available with the t/a 6.6 220hp, just like with the 4spd???

    • @DustyBalz
      @DustyBalz Год назад +1

      Correct. The TA/6.6 was the call out for the W72 Pontiac Engine, 400 block with 6x9 heads , qudrajet 800cfm carb, high energy ignition, available in 78 with 4 speed or an automatic trans. Pontiac had a limited number of blocks left for 79 and only offered then on the 4 speed. The W72 was advertised at 220 hp for insurance and EPA purposes, NHRA treated the car in 78 and reported the hp at 265 .

      Decals were correct. Some 78 Trans Ams had different sets of decals, depending on when the car was ordered from the factory. Also, the Trans Ams were assembled at both Norwood, Ohio and Van Nuys, CA, from 1978-81.
