Have the air horns blow on low fuel. That should get his attention.
Excellent idea!
😂😂😂
In a totally random pattern.
Yes a "little" honk-honk when starting engine on low fuel should fun
With Dukes of hazard horn
Matt needs a progressive low fuel alarm. The lower the fuel the louder the alarm! !! !!!
LMAO !
Oh yeah! The audio alarm needs to be similar to an aircraft warning to where the female voice comes on right after the warning buzzer: "Warning, low fuel indicated, Warning, low fuel indicated, Warning low fuel indicated". Finally it says: "HEY MATT! YOU ARE RUNNING OUT OF GAS!"
He would start wearing ear protection to avoid hearing it
And at max low gas alarm they should have should not be able to be in the cab
If just an alarm bell or something like that...Make it something really obnoxious.
For a low fuel warning, you need a solid state voice recorder that taps into the speakers in the cab. You could record Korbin saying "Matt, you need gas" ... over and over.
lol, i suggested matts wife's voice!!
great minds think alike.
also it should be set to half a tank 🤣 cus we know hes just gona ignore it. in fact hell probably disable it after the 2nd time it goes off
Just the same idea I had....
Voice : "LOW FUEL LOW FUEL BLAME MATT"
🤣🤣🤣
Brilliant
I just Love your family’s dynamics’s. Your workmanship is great. Chad has taught his sons well It’s just great to see his sons following his work ethic. Some of the best content on RUclips..
AGREED !!
Well said!
Your family works so methodically and sets a fantastic example of how we should always be. It is relaxing, entertaining, inspiring and educational! Thank you for sharing your work !
On a motorcycle with air powered landing gear I installed a Schrader valve so I could pre-fill the system with shop air. This made it much easier on the battery & small compressor.
Also made the bike ready to ride in seconds, especially after sitting for long periods of time.
Keep up the great videos.
Great idea!
There is no way that work is not going to be piling in the door for Chad and it will be high in, top of the line stuff! I'm talking Riddler and SEMA. He is just too good and too diligent in what he does and now it's out there for all to see. Custom building at this level is not a common thing and he is uncommonly good at it.
Incredible work being done by Chad's Fab. This is the skilled, detailed work most won't touch and now we all know why. Of course, for everything we see on the vids there is twice that amount of effort going into planning, troubleshooting, and exploring. This off road wrecker will forever have a large stamp of Chad upon it.
Love the fact that Matt would rather raise the door on his shop. Then take some of the coolness factor away from Clark.
He needs another bay and higher bay.
I'm sure he mentioned building a new shop, so probably not a big deal.
I really appreciate the family environment your channel exhibits. In modern society, the importance and value of family are sorely underrated. It is so comforting and refreshing to watch videos that show the value of family, of supportive parents, and respectful children. So I thank all of you for your proud display of family relationship in work and fun! 🙂
I think this "car" cost around 500.000 dollar by now. But,.....its a beast. And you'r work on it is fantastic. I love it.
Mount horns inside the cab for extra clearance.
You guys are amazing how you can figure out all the wiring and the fab work is amazing matts rig looks like it is alot of work. Korbin is going to be an amazing mechanic he has a good teacher and he pays attention to what is going on
Chad and his team are installing and testing all the different components involved in this biggest wrecker. This is going to be one sweet recovery vehicle when finished!
Matt seems to associate with visual markers.. although impractical, an old school vertical clear tube showing fuel level 🤜💥🤛
Mount the compressors on some rubber liner. That will also reduce the noise from harmonic vibration of the steel mountings and base plates
What about running an air line to the side of the bed so you have an easily accessible connection for air line? And you could air the system up with shop air instead o waiting for the small compressors to fill it up. Keep up the fine work guys
Good idea !
The manifold that the air compressors connect to has an air coupler that could be connected to shop air.
There was such a time crunch getting this back to Matt that I don't know if anything is leaking.
Chad for a low fuel alarm give Jamie a large rubber mallet 🎉😂
Just attach the (Air-Horns) with some locking (wing-nuts) so you can take them down on the fly.
Definitely hook up the low fuel to the air-horn that would be hilarious and great content 😅
Put a shocking device in the seat that shocks Matt when he is low on fuel.
I am truly amazed at just how much you are doing to the wrecker. There is no price big enough!! Matt owes you such a favor, probably 3!
I can't guess how many 10's of thousands of dollars' worth of work that Chad's Fab is putting into this job.
Or cash
This isn't a paying job, it's one friend helping out another
If in fact there was Loctite or similar on the brass fittings in the air tank, a little PVC clear primer will dissolve the Loctite and make it easier. You can use the purple primer as well, it just gets messy.
Low fuel warning: Flashing yellow (changes to red when very low) lightbar across the top of the front window interior frame.
Matt probably cut out a slot in the garage door so he drive the truck in the shop the air horn slide thru the slot he made for it
Horn door instead of a dog door, he probably will .
Yes, I think a piezo buzzer buried so far up under the dash that you can’t find it would make a great low fuel alarm. And I’m guessing it’s only a matter of time before an access panel in the back of the cab gets made to access the solenoids without removing the cab. At some later date an engine mounted belt driven air compressor from a semi would be a good upgrade also. In the interim, using shop air to air up the wrecker would help. Fire trucks use a special breakaway fitting for that purpose so that when they are in the station they are connected to the air system in the garage and when they go on a run they just drive off and the connector just pops off with no damage.
I suggest the Star Trek alert system. Make the cab shake violently and all the gauges throw showers of sparks!
Low fuel alarm should be a recording on a loop of Chad gently reminding Matt look at the fuel gauge 😂
Like Hal from space odysee 2001 “Check the fuel gauge Matt”
Matt… Matt…Matt…You know what you have to do
@@jdau2b Matt should carry 1-2 exterior mounted fuel tanks.
All this stuff, You're oonna have to design a teaching curriculum to teach Matt and everyone who will be doing recoveries with the wrecker so they know how to operate it. This is the most design I have ever seen on, well,... anything!
Chad, (which is my son's name by the way), I really enjoy watching how well your entire family gets involved in your projects. The unbelievable number of wires and hoses required to finish this job are mind-blowing. But, you guys never get upset or worried...just slow, steady and excellent work. Great job all of you!!
Wow, thank you for those kinds words.
For the low fuel notification, make his seat buzz like those lane departure warnings on new vehicles.
Rubber Chicken.
Low fuel alarm: a boxing glove on a spring where a steering wheel airbag would normally go!
Put the air horns under the cab. See them mounted on frame rails behind the cab, too. You guys do good work.
For the low fuel, use an Arduino with an announcement on low fuel, then buzzers that randomly go off at varying times.
The work that has gone into this build is mind boggling but Matt has chosen the best crew to do all of the technical things. The whole Chad's Fab family should be beaming with pride for what has been accomplished.
You should put an air fitting on the truck like fire engines have so you can pressure the system with the shop compressor. It will save wear and tear on those small compressors and not so much noise every time you go on a call.
@notsevenfeettall engine driven air brake compressor with electric clutch would be perfect. Also, climate there may not require a water drain on those tanks like here in the south, but I would still have a low point drain for condensation.
There is a fitting for connecting to shop air.
Matt's time frame was so short that I didn't get time to fully leak test the whole air system. I'm sure there are a couple of small leaks.
The 8.1 isn't easy to adapt brackets to for an engine driven compressor. There is a wire there for one if it ever happens.
No air dryer on this, there isn't a safe spot for one and not much of need either. Hopefully they will drain the tanks regularly.
You can use Loctite 577 for air tanks and hoses, it's an awesome stuff to avoid leaks.
What a wonderful family! Best wishes from the UK.
This thing is going to have so many gauges. Matt's going to feel like he's driving a 747.
yes he will untill the way matt drives and the wires and gauges start breaking down he will have nothing but an electricians night mare. and as i dont see Lizzie any more he wont be able to fix it, and tom flom will be to busy talking about nothing which is the same as what he knows.
@@robertlane3513 Lizzie is still there. She just moved to part time because of personal life changes (i.e. she got married).
@@robertlane3513 Ha ha Tom has his masters in physics and a degree in nuclear engineering.
You are a youtube troll. Ha ha ha
@@robertlane3513 You clearly don't know Tom's background...
@@robertlane3513 I think chads wiring has been top notch and very professional. Everything run in neat looms and labeled. I think you’ve got a bee in your bonnet for no reason
For low fuel, how about a recording of Ed telling Matt to get some gas?
Matt's acted like you've had the Wrecker for months now..... 😂🤦🤷♂️ Dat, DUDE...😜✌️ The work looks, BA !! But, I agree, Chad.... The airhorns will look Dumbo on top of the cab!! ....The small things ruin the overall looks of trucks 💯
Should mount an air hose reel so Matt can fill tires on recovery vehicles or to use air tools
They have air jack next to compressors, but hose should be in toolbox, not in the sun whole day...
Being old is not for the feeble! I wear trifocals if I am awake and some times need a magnifying glass to see small stuff.
Great Content 👍and Video 👍
Your attention to detail is very impressive, Chad, Family and Team
Have a Great Day 👍
God Bless America 🇺🇸🙏🇺🇸
Thanx
What about putting some old innertube under that compressor plate to quite it down?
You could make the low fuel alarm make play the melody of Fat's Dominos song "I'm walking" or maybe The Proclaimers " I would walk 500 miles"
Oh yea, Matt might be in for a surprise when he goes through the Sand Hollow tunnel. (Air horns will be too tall probably /unless the suspension is lowered )..😮
Matt will disconnect any kind of low fuel buzzer day 1. Just put a bright light on the dash ; )
Also, did you use extra rubber pads/bushings between the compressors and the truck? Might help quiet them down big time.
You should make a 6’ extension for the wiring plugs so you can plug in the cab when it is up in the air. Think fancy extension cords.
I agree with the previous comment. If the air horns are mounted on the headache rack you'll never have water leaking into the cab. I just wish height clearance wasn't an issue.
Perhaps some vibration isolators (rubber washers) might help with the noise of the compressors. Fairly easy mod at least, easier than an acoustic box and it'll work well with a box if you do wind up at that point.
Course up side to the box is it'll keep the weather off too which is always nice for stuff like that.
We didn't have the air filters installed at first. Once the filters were put on things were a lot quieter. the compressors have bushings on them already.
put a spare car horn under the dash and wire it to the low fuel signal, or you can get a light that has a warning buzzer as well
Man I admire your guys ability to do all this wiring. Ive been doing some harness's for side x sides and cant keep my stuff looking half that neat. Not to mention I waste allot of wire making sure stuff is long enough,
We do too. Better to long and 1" to short.
For the fuel alarm you could get some small car alarm loud speakers. I'd say the airhorn but unless it's electrically activated a car alarm speaker would be easier.
But in reality maybe a seat belt dinger and flashing light. Maybe have the dome lights strobe or something haha. How about some sort of aircraft warning signal like the ones that yell "terrain" I'm not sure if there's low fuel alarms for aircraft but I've actually used some aircraft parts in my jeep like warning lights and map lights. I also made my hand throttle from a small aircraft choke lever and cable it's much nicer than the bicycle lever most use for hand throttles and you can tighten it to stay or loosen it to spring back normally and the cables are much nicer than bicycle cables they are more like dirtbike cables. Also the aircraft choke lever is much cleaner to mount than bicycle levers that need a tube mount. Anyways I went off on a tangent there lol.
If the horns go on the roof will it still clear the Sand Hollow tunnel?
I think that that ship had already sailed :)
🤷♂️ But like Matt said, He'll deal with any clearance issues that come up.
I, too, use the old two pair of glasses magnify the magnifier trick to better see my tiny targets (that get tinier with each passing year 😊). It works well & I wouldnt be surprised if it is "Korbin Approved"! Put a sticker on it.
Converting an old air system warning "wig-wag" that falls in front of the driver's eye would be amazing!
Add small rubber bushes to the air compressor mounting plate , should reduce vibration from plate to frame
With all the nonsense on TV and in the news these days, it sure is nice to watch a show that's productive and entertaining with a family that has fun while they work. 👍
Thanks everyone !
Thank you!!
Connect the low fuel warning to his air horn, he will quickly learn to keep the fuel level above that level. (I start typing prior to the comment in the video snd elected to continue with my comment)
sirens and strobes are the only appropriate notifications to let matt know he needs gas
Matt needs a sensor that sounds an alarm when he is wheeling and sticks his hand, arm and/or elbow out the window! He seems to have bad habit of not keep all body parts within the protected area when wheeling!!!
I have a problem with where you put the air solenoids, if for some reason one of them goes bad you are going to have to pull the cab to replace it
Have to pull the cab off to fix most anything 😂
Connect fuel sending unit to flashing lights and a designated air horn. - disabling switch for the lights and horns needs to require the driver to get out of the vehicle.
- also, what about wrapping the headers in that heat cloth stuff, to reduce the amount of radiant heat in that area?
Wire a seat shaker for the low fuel alarm so its not so annoying.
I say forget Matt’s approval on low fuel alarm. Mount something in the driver seat that stimulates him to get out of the seat and get fuel. 😂
For the "Low Fuel" alert, Put a Neumatic Jack under the center of the driver's seat.
Matt's fuel problem ? Program the computer so all the lights go on and off and the horn !
I am so amazed at how much you understand with systems and wiring. This is an extremely complex build.
παραπολυπλοκο προσοχή μην ξεχνάτε θα δουλεύει σε δύσκολες συνθήκες 👀👀💪💪🍺🍺👍👍👌👌🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏
Fire the air horn if Matt runs out of gas.
Matt should put train horns on the beast
For like the 1st 2 weeks you should set the low fuel sensor to half a tank.😅
Bishop and sons, I am swiftly becoming a bigger fan with each video. TY for the wholesome family content.
When the fuel is at 1%, have a claw hammer swing down from the roof and hit Matt right in the forehead.
Can’t wait to see/hear the ‘low on fuel’ warning! Love your work!
You need a rubber under those air pump to reduce vibration which then reduce some noise
“I need to noodle that before the cab goes on!” Chad you are a RUclips treasure! Low fuel warning should be a Korban shout out.
You can get a little Ghostbusters siren piezo for fuel alarm. 🙂
Old school tractors had a metal flag that dropped down directly in your line of sight through the windshield for low air warning. The new stuff has both a light and a buzzer. Due to the vintage of the wrecker, Matt needs the flag.
Have a small hi pitch busser hidden somewhere in the cab. Hopefully, Matt can not find easily.
Hook the low fuel alarm Up to the airhorns it’ll get his attention and he will ignore it
Chad, the rear of the cab needs a accessdoor/panel to get to the Air solenoids when the cab is installed.!
I think Matt needs a strobe light and an "aaahoooogaaa" horn for a low fuel warning. Make it go off at half full. And, not blaming you Chad, but few things shout "Redneck Build" to me more than rusty iron pipe fittings. Yea, I know they work. But considering what that vehicle has cost to build would another couple of hundred for stainless or anodized aluminum fittings be that out of line?
Yes please. Someone help Matt understand what a fuel gauge is for
11:45, CHAD what EXTRA AIR FILTRATION for that pair of compressors will be installed..?.? As they are now over the rear axle... 22:35 Ahhh, there they are....?
Hey Chad I got a good idea.
Hook up the seat put something that will shock him his butt. And it won't stop until he feels up.😱😧🤪😅😄🤣😁👍🏽🤟🏽🤷🏽♂️
If anyone can do it Sparky can.
👍🏽🤟🏽🙏🏽🤙🏾🙋🏽♂️😊😎😎.
Oh yeah and if he tries to disconnect the wire for the electric seat nothing will run.
So you'll have to put gas in it .
Since Matt ignores most alarms, hook it to a small vehicle horn that has an annoying sound, with a pre warning light that it is going to get noisy in the cab soon.
Low fuel---Standard truck back up except use construction piezo!!!!!! Maybe every 5 minutes?
Mount a "BadBoy" horn from Harbor Freight under Matt's seat as a LOW FUEL ALARM!! That would wake him up!! 🤣
A day, without A, CHAD’S-FAB-VIDEO, Is a bad sad day for-me 😔. Sooooooooo,I make sure I beat the blues by watching every video that the MR or, the MRS comes out with every day!!! Aaaaaaaand, HIT the LIKE-BUTTON so IT comes UP 🆙 in MY feed!! HIP HIP HOORAY! HIP HIP HOORAY!! HIP HIP HOORAY!!!
Led light that lights the whole cab up inside red should work
"Real Men of Genius" that's Chads Fab. Another good video. I'm sure you will come up with a great idea for fuel alarm.
Can always have low fuel turn on the hazard lights.
Ash Tray Pops Open, Florescent flag pops out of the ash tray waving back and forth as though on meth along with a vibrator under the driver's seat that also has a Model T Coil attached to the seat. No lights, just good old school analog reach out and touch someone technology.
The low fuel alarm should be a voice recording of your voice saying “GET GAS MATT, GET GAS MATT”, and don’t tell him ahead of time!!! LOL
Fuel Notice, Why not borrow from another RUclipsr ILTMS ruclips.net/video/smhMLsP5fsM/видео.html This way too, different sounds could be entered, probably from the same suggestions listed by others.
Quarter tank: a red light flashes on the dash.
Low level: airhorns blow 0.5sec and be quiet for 30sec.
Near empty level: airhorns blow 1sec and quiet for 5sec
That should make them park the truck with full tank..
Is there a way to connect Tuesday belt alarm from like a F150 that goes off....then goes off...then gets louder when it goes off...then goes off...then goes off....seems perfect for low fuel indication annoyance 👽
Yes, the low fuel alarm activates at 1/2 a tank
Low fuel taser alarm hooked to the driver seat.🤣😂
Get rid of that ugly plumbers strap holding down the K&N air filter to the rad.. Make a nice clamp bracket.. 🧑🔧🧑🔧
