I have been following self driving for years, and from what I am seeing Tesla have basically solved self driving. It is not perfect, but it wouldn't surprise me to see Tesla operating a fully autonomous ride sometime next year.
I've been in a Waymo. They are safe. The data says so. They are nothing to fear. Anyone ever use an elevator? They used to have drivers too. Things evolve.
@@XXtheJUMPoffXX Still, the concept of a human operated machine becoming automated has occurred already. These cars have been trained for at least ten years. They are pretty good now at navigating and being safe and will only continue to get better.
Some of these comments are funny. These robotaxis have been driving around for over 10 years with no accidents or deaths, and all of a sudden, things are going to go wrong in LA? You need to look into how good these Waymo robotaxis are then comment.
Waymo is extremely limited in what it can do and where it can go, and is far from perfect. Just recently saw a video of a waymo driving into a construction site, where the workers were laying a new road. Waymo is good at what it does, but what it does is very limited.
So how does it work if the traffic lights are off and an officer is directing traffic, can someone at the waymo office take over and drive it remotely if it's confused? Like remote piloted using a simulator that shows actual video.
Waymo is trained to recognize officers directing traffic too! There is also remote assistance that can help suggest to Waymo what to do, but no one can remotely drive it.
People sure do forget how progress works...planes, helicopter are good examples. Even the device they used to complain here had the same issue. Of course, this will require more caution but I'm all for it.
just saw a news report today about Uber offering more safety features for women, because a woman alone seem to commonly get all the weirdo male drivers
Well, that’s because human drivers ignore traffic laws. It’s not because they’re not observant. They ignore them consciously. Ignore traffic clause human drivers do but then again I’m not sold on ever getting into an autonomously driven vehicle never gonna happen
I was in one earlier today in Phoenix. I put the video on my channel. It was pretty cool. In a decade, this is going to be normal 😁
Waymo vehicles drive safer than your average LA driver.
Waymo is safe. Tesla self driving is garbage
Wait till you're in an accident; then you change your mind.
Also Waymo is liable for accidents but for Tesla's drivers are liable.

Driving a car is infinitely more complex than operating an elevator up & down floors
They are safe until a tragic accident occurs. Then, they become unsafe.

Nice suit Frank
Imagine you're pursuing someone and you jump in and say "Follow that car" and it sasses you back!

Lmaooooo knowing LA drivers… get your popcorn ready ppl
Who's going to be the first dead person! Then they'll get shut down! How has self checkout worked out!

What’s the reaction time ? To many crazy drivers in LA to let a robot drive me around

They brought it on themselves, always demanding ridiculous wages for what was never meant to be a full-time job.
did the reporter doing this piece take something recreational before coming on air?
Uber drivers demanding ridiculous pay just caused themselves to lose their jobs. 🤣
Throw some towel on their light sensor . It will disable it
Well, take job less become driverless more service because fault crime. In future will less human job how us pay bills and life?
this bot seems to need a grammar check update🤔
