Passengers need to click on the box that states waymo has no financial responsibility if an accident occurs . Need to accept the agreement before you can get a ride
The service has been operating for a fairly long time in Phoenix and has recently expanded to the freeways. I have used it twice and it functioned flawlessly.
These cars have sensors Radar lidar and vision cameras they see things better than humans and it's a safer ride it's a big Jaguar SUV as well not a small car
What does that even mean?! Doesn’t everybody talk like normal people??? People don’t scream and shout at you when they’re talking, at least, not usually. 😂
Janice Hahn and some of you in here need to get out of your bubble. These have been operating in Az for quite some time now and while they are not without issue.... I trust them way more than your average LA driver. Maybe we should good back to horse and buggy..... Innovation is scary but let's not have our blinders on. The first autonomous car was tested in 1995..... at some point we need to move forward.
Saw them while in San Francisco last month. They were even on the expressways, changing lanes and looking perfectly normal, well except for all the paraphernalia on the outside. Would have tried them in a nano second but the waiting list is long.
Not to include areas below the 10 freeway or above the 2 inadvertently touches on a deeper issue of service equality. Los Angeles is a tapestry woven from diverse neighborhoods, each with its own history and needs. Selective service can have lasting implications.
Perhaps we're going too quick with this technology, but it's undeniable dangerous driving in LA; and if these robot taxis can over time make it safer and easier to get around, I'm absolutely all for it!? Because in theory this may lead to less traffic, less DUI accidents, less driver error, older and younger people commuting with relative ease, and maybe less individual car ownership and more public space!? How can that be a bad thing, really!? I get the job loss part and the initial dangers involved, but really the trade offs long term are too good, imo....
.. it just stopped at the yello light to let the car make a turn with it turning red and then ran the red while she was in the passenger and camera guy was in the rear seat.. @2:07
Watch Dash Cam Lessons. You’ll see what human error does. We trust machines to do life saving things everyday. With enough safe guards the self driving taxi should be safer than human error would be. There will still be accidents. It’s the percentage that matters. Computers think faster and don’t let emotions persuade them to do on thing over the other. They can literally see an inevitable accident about to happen and determine the safest maneuver to lessen the chance of human injury or death. Can you say that about 70yr old Aunt Edna? This is all IMO. You’re not for it and that’s fine.
It's not that big a deal these cars have been ready to go for a long time only people complaining dinosaurs that don't want to get with modern times are holding things up😅
They really had to insult hard working people (taxi and rideshare drivers) at the end of their presentation? I don't even think they realize JUST how elitist they sounded.
Its interesting to me they retrofit Jaguar SUVs. I think a car planned from the wheels up to be self driving would be better. Does Jaguar know about this? Are they OK with it? Jaguars are made in England, you know.
What if a malfunction goes bad and doesn’t stop or doesn’t see a pedestrian walking. So many things can go wrong and we are not in control. Who’s stupid idea was this? This is not a good idea.
Until it malfunctions and you’re buckled into the back seat as you hold on for dear life , clenching your butt checks together and praying it safely stops some way. Sounds fun
Of course this will go on until a highly publicized accident involving fatalities, such as children playing on the side of the road. Only then there will be SOME reckoning, before some more advertising of new safetey features kick in and it continues as if nothing happened.
Para mim é uma péssima ideia, porque todo o ser humano vai sofrer as consequências com esse tipo de robôs, principalmente o emprego, as pessoas têm que ter trabalho, e isso é muito mau!!!😢😢😢🤬😡🤬😡
Can't wait to disable one. I have a new cattle guard on my 3500 and if a driverless car gets in my way, it's unlicensed driver will assume liability for the crash. I'm gonna get a new truck, thanks to waymo. Or some dumb tesla driver who turns on fsd near my rig.

No thank you , support the drivers
I see a lot of people running late red lights at high speed. How do these WAymo cars avoid that without badly getting T bone?
Just gotta hold on & screqm
You sign a waiver before they let you ride in one.
When you die, family can't sue

They don't. Waymo is forced to launch product becsuse the investors are losing patience. It's going to bust like Boeing.
Driverless cars….now that’s REAL progress.
I love this morning crew. They're so down to earth and talk just like normal people would.
What does that even mean?! Doesn’t everybody talk like normal people??? People don’t scream and shout at you when they’re talking, at least, not usually. 😂
@@handsuporillshoot381 Haha! I mean like talking heads.
Super bad idea.
How exactly is this a bad idea??? Gtfoh 😂
@dingus644
"HAL, open the door"
"I'm sorry, Dingus, I can't do that".
@@handsuporillshoot381
"HAL, open the door"
"I'm sorry, Hands up, I can't go that".
@dingus644until it malfunctions and you become one with a light pole.
Oh hell no...
transformers
😂oh look just when u joined the union A ROBOT
😂
yo ktla crew still going strong! miss y'all every morning, we still watch abroad tho. be well guys.
Love this! I’m never seen one but super excited. I know they had issues in San Francisco so hopefully they mapped this for a while before

Agree-need to move forward. Janice Hahn is a Dino 🦕
Seen quite a few of them before they even made this an announcement.
They also can't detect a firetruck racing down the road I saw a video where one crashed into one w passenger
Was that the other company called Cruise?
That was cruise there's literally videos of waymo identifying emergency vehicle's.
Saw them while in San Francisco last month. They were even on the expressways, changing lanes and looking perfectly normal, well except for all the paraphernalia on the outside. Would have tried them in a nano second but the waiting list is long.
Then I guess you have to wait to take the dirt nap 😂😂😂

Bass Guinea Pigs then
It's here! The future is here!

Finally!!!

Pretty cool
Such a bad idea. We have more homeless and mentally ill here than any other area in the entire country. Just wait until they get ahold of them.
Make it expand in San Francisco.
I suspect this was approved because the country of LA couldn’t build a functioning public transportation before the Olympic games.
Waiting to try
How soon before there's an accident and/or someone gets run over? Since no one's driving, no one is at fault, right? #HardPass
More safer than human drivers 😂

I saw one here like 5 months ago, maybe a practice one
Good
Amen

Bye to Uber and Lyft drivers.
I will not risk my life with Robo taxi it may be safe but still scary.
THANK YOU JESUS!! 🙏
Now I don’t have to wait for an Uber freak to pick me up not knowing whether the guy is a thief or a serial killer.
They really had to insult hard working people (taxi and rideshare drivers) at the end of their presentation? I don't even think they realize JUST how elitist they sounded.
Get rid of these things!!!
Self driving crap
This sounds crazy 🤪 and dangerous no way yikes.
If someone crashed into the cab, who fills out the insurance report? Does a robot show up?
Its interesting to me they retrofit Jaguar SUVs. I think a car planned from the wheels up to be self driving
would be better. Does Jaguar know about this? Are they OK with it? Jaguars are made in England, you know.
oh no! you better let Jaguar know asap :)
No more tipping drivers? 😁
Uber drivers hate this idea? 😞

Robot cars driving robot people to their robot jobs so they can build more robots. Cool
No thank you
Not a chance in hell I would ride this.

5G death ray sitting in that car

Who’s controlling the car, HAL 9000? (Anyone who seen 2001: A Space Odyssey that is reading this, knows what I’m talking about)
The democrats want to add a white light (red, yellow, green white) for self driving vehicles.
Lmfao the company making sure not pick up or drop off in urban areas. I guess 😆🤔
Good but not sure it can self serving.🧐🤵🏻♂️👮🏻♂️
ok boomers
What's with all of these antisocial people? Do you just want to interact with computers the rest of your life? Such losers.
I dont know whats worse, asians behind the wheel or Noone behind the wheel. 😂
Karen bass sucks, we don’t want her to have more control 🫠
