"....annoying little popup" Agreed, it needs to go away. Keeping the door open is a great hack, if you just need 30 seconds to do something at a stop or something. All great tips 👍 Did not know the surge pricing thing, that's pretty good
This was so, so helpful. I plan to use Waymo for the first time in Phoenix and this is the only video that covered everything I need to know. Thank you!!
Thanks. A very informative useful video. I wonder what happens if a customer leave the door open and left after the trip ends? Will it just stays there until somebody shuts the door? Also, would be very interested to see how Tesla's latest version stacks up against Waymo comparison on the same route.
This is so amazing to watch I can't wait to actually try one when we come to SF for 2 weeks. Can get drunk and not have to worry about upsetting anyone on the road. And when getting stuff during the trip the make a round trip is awesome if you are not familiar with where you are Hotel wise. but what's the car in front at 13:00?
So what exactly does an extra stop entail? How much time are you given max for a stop? I mean, is it enough time to say, get a burrito from El Farolito, or just enough time to grab some cash from an ATM, etc?
I experienced this for the first time in SF, after doing it once I was hooked. Used Wamo 4 more times that trip! It is safer than a human, exciting while at the same time very relaxing. It made a lot of decisions like going around UPS trucks blocking the lane, nudging between tight spots and most importantly very aware of pedestrians, cyclists, dogs etc.
Great UI and Power User Tips video Kevin! I'm wondering if you have a 5-min video for beginning Waymo riders. If you already have this, could you add a link to that one (or edit a longer one down to that)? It's tough to see the new riders who don't know that one must unlock the doors or who are literally running down the street chasing their first Waymo or who seem shocked that their Waymo didn't let them out exactly where they imagined it would, based on the final address. In that separate video or edit, I'd leave out the concept of a multi-trip stop, since beginners normally don't try that. Again, your video here was awesome for advanced Waymo users, but I'm hoping you can help out new Waymo users (or direct them to one of your other great videos. Oh, and please throw in a warning not to use the stop ride button (unless it is a big emergency) nor to forget anything in the Waymo. Sadly, I've seen a sad video or two like that, which makes for a tough intro to Waymo, when it occurs.
Yes the car waits up to 5 mins, however someone on busy streets it will only stay for 2 mins and that has happened to me a few times

Interesting video! Kevin, can I, as an European tourist, use Waymo when i will be in SF? Or do i need an American card / something other special? I will have US phone number with an internet.
The multi-stop trick is super useful to customize the preferred route to take. Thank you!

We can actually briefly see the "KC" at 16:05
Cool to see the UI and being able to adjust on the fly like that
Excellent video Kevin!
I can't wait to get off the waitlist in LA!
You know we all want to know what was in that parcel... 🤣Mate. Great video. Thank you!
Literally a bunch of garbage -- a broken hard drive and other ewaste. Thanks for watching!
Thank you for this, Kevin!!
Super helpful. Thank you!

That’s a Zoox test vehicle (Toyota Highlander IIRC).

So waymo just expanded to daly city. Would be nice to see u take rides
Very helpful. So no way to keep the car waiting for say 5 mins unattended?
Yes the car waits up to 5 mins, however someone on busy streets it will only stay for 2 mins and that has happened to me a few times

Is there a minimum distance requirement ? For instance if I only need to go about 2 miles !
Nice and very informative, thank you! Waymo seems so cool ✨
Super impressive tech!
are there human safety monitors? how many cars per monitor?
a pitty that half the car is not available (the whole front row)
I've requested the invite code for Waymo months ago, but I seem to be still on waitlist. Do you have any tips on getting them sooner?
Waymo is open to all now
Great job. Thank you. L/S/C
What are you billed for these "joyride" trips?
I'm almost always paying the normal prices shown in the app. In this video, I had a $5 coupon in my account but it's not usually there.
What happens if the car is dirty ? How do you tell them?
There’s probably interior cameras
At 10:11 on the left you can see the Cybertruck
Same I saw it as well
Now we all just need higher paying jobs in order to afford to use this service.
can u open the window?
Yes, and if you lean over, even the driver side window will open. They will all open.
I like the car 🚗 ❤❤❤❤
$50 taxi in a city with decent public transit
When Waymo finishes scaling up, it will be the public transit. Also, the prices will likely get lower.
the price is crazy though
Other than at rush hour, in SF they're almost always about the same as the Uber or Lyft price _before_ tip, meaning it's cheaper overall.
