This is really fantastic. Thank you so much for sharing an hour of gameplay from this game. There are so many great Saturn RPGs that most of us still haven't played through, mostly due to the language barrier (my Japanese is terrible). I really appreciate the work that went into this video, as well as detailing all the differences from the PSX version of Vandal Hearts. I'd love to see more videos of this, or any other Saturn Strategy-RPG, for that matter. Much thanks!
You can find gameplay from the Saturn port of Genso Suikoden, Mystaria: The Realms of Lore, Shining Force III Premium Disc on the channel. Our new SNES OSSC video also features a large number of SNES RPGs in our recent OSSC Super Nintendo video. We don't cover them as much as other games in part as you often need to show 1 or 2 hrs just from one game to get a good sample. We do have access to a large chunk of the RPGs on Saturn and hope to cover more at some point.
If anyone is interested in seeing a full playthrough of the Saturn version please let us know, Riven is about to try and go for the extra maps if there is enough interest he might film the whole game for the Saturn version. As there is so little information on this port at the moment. Please reply or thumbs up this comment, have to be quick as we will make a decision next week to film it or not.
That was an interesting intro to say the least. You can definitely tell it was the early days of 3D animation with how awkward some of that movement was. :P I love Vandal Hearts. I did a full playthrough of the PS1 game on my channel, showing all the secrets and such. It looks like all the hidden treasures were kept the same with this version as well. One thing I believe is different, if I'm remembering right, is that archers couldn't open treasure chests in the PS1 version. So that is at least one difference in the gameplay. ;)
How's this for a turn of events we were using your guide, to see where all the items were when making this video, great guide as well it makes things easy to fine, hence why we subscribed to your channel. The Saturn version does have ten bonus battles we've heard and we do plan to video then at some point, once we get there. It's because of your video we tested to see if Diego could open the chest as we heard you mention it, the video description lists all the changes between versions we have found so far.
Ah, that's really flattering. Haha. I'm glad you are finding my videos helpful. :) I'm definitely interested in seeing these bonus battles for this version. I'll be on the look out for it when you get it uploaded. ;)
We mentioned it in the description, it was the final title in the PlayStation trio of the three games Genso Suikoden had the best port by far. Might video that as well in the near future along with Castlevania.
+Randomised Gaming Its really confusing as to why they didnt release these in the west. At the very least Symphony since it was a hit, suikoden and vandal hearts i can kinda sorta understand what with their hatered towards jRPG's.
The problem with the Symphony port on Saturn is that it didn't arrive till the middle of 1998, by that point Sega had all but finished releasing games in Europe and the USA. Konami also published only about three games on the Saturn in Europe, Whizz, Crypt Killer and the Parodius double pack, none of them sold well either.
pretty annoying now noticing how they needlessly changed some of the names in the english version. (Jose -> Diego, Keith? -> Clint). why do they always do that stupid stuff?

We will have one of the team get around to filming the Saturn exclusive levels at some point, can't say when, but it will happen.
@@RandomisedGamingRUclips Was wondering if we can see theses extras level somewhere? Thanks!
Wow there really is a change in the music
Thanks for the detailed comparison

It's light years better graphically than Mystaria for the Saturn.
this is a very curious port, I also know Konami made an enhanced version of the first Suikoden for the Saturn which was of course Japan only

yeah that does make sense, I forgot they were that late.
How can you understand this when it is in Japanese??
Either they know Japanese, or they’ve played it on the ps1

Often translator like to apply their stamp to the game, which is never a good idea.
That is how we get 4 names from the first alien movie in this game. Ash, Lambert, Dallas and Kane.
@@BillyKamp funnily enough, Ash Lambert and Kane are some of the only names not to be changed from the original lol
To be honest, I prefer Clint & Diego.
