Honestly I hope Christy never leaves she is amazing in the show, can't imagine anyone replacing her but I wonder what the touring cast will be like, hope they are good.
PixieLowe1 Lila Coogan (tour Anya) is AMAZING!! She honestly has such a beautiful voice!! I think they will be great!!
The touring cast looks dope but you know you never know how these things may play out till the tour starts, I mean honestly I have not been a fan of DEH now that most of the OBC cast have left the show, don't hate me just my opinion. :)

Ben is a good singer but if I am being honest I saw Ben a few times in DEH, I saw MLB and I saw Taylor the night Will left , I am not being a hater I think the DEH cast all have great singing voices but Ben and MLB brought emotion to Evan's character that none of the other cast have able to do, I mean the crying, drolling, everything, there performances are just next level. Taylor has a great singing voice but the emotion was lacking and for me the spark that I got when seeing DEH was lacking a lot but it is hard to explain what I mean unless you have seen Ben or any of the clips where he is just balling his eyes out. I do hope you enjoy seeing Ben he is great and the touring cast seems dope they have found some great actors to join the show.

Wow this new trailer is dope! The narrative gives it a sense of ambiance and glad they stuck to the old tag line of ‘Her past is a mystery her future is an adventure.’

I can't begin to tell you how much I love this Broadway show, even though some of the OBC cast members have left now the show is still great. Christy and the others are amazing in the show, I hope I get to see this cast again at least a couple more times, since the OBC cast left DEH for sure Anastasia has become my fav broadway shows, not that you can compare broadway shows, anyways. :)

Seeing clips of the Once Upon a December dance and costumes give me straight up chills ^_^ It's such a beautifully done scene!! Same with Quartet at the Ballet. Mashing up the show's songs with Tchaikovsky was genius!!
@Kieran Callahan ... Not sure why you ranted on an inactive two-year-old post, but as someone who saw the show, I think it handled the balance well of staying true to the movie, while also acknowledging that maybe making a children's cartoon saying the Romanovs were brutally murdered by a crazy wizard man wasn't a terrific idea. However, a more historically respectful movie already existed decades before that for adults, simply titled "Anastasia," and to my memory it also handled the conclusion ambiguously, like this fairy tale had to do in its Broadway adaptation. I rather liked the changes. The "I'll Bless My Homeland" scene in particular was extremely strong--this coming from the child of an immigrant whose familial nation is now one falling to ruin--and was everything "Anatevka" should have been. Inclusions like this make it intriguing for the adults taking their children who may be taking in the story for the first time, and gives them both the groundwork to think and talk about the themes of family, immigration, and statehood. I'm not one to judge if the costumes were fully historically accurate, but they definitely evoke the ideas of the time periods and cultures they represent, which is more important when you can't do close-ups and are playing to an audience of hundreds who can't see the details anyway. Additionally, given the facts we now know about the Romanovs, the 20th Century Fox (not Disney) film is "a dream, nothing more," so conveying that idea is also more important to a certain extent, which they definitely do with the staging of "Once Upon a December." Two years later, i am still in awe of how they choreogaphed the scene and projected the ghosts of Romanovs past throughout the theatre. Feeling and conveying a story with the respect this murdered family is owed is what's important here, not whether or not someone in the nosebleed seats can confirm in a textbook that x number of Swarovski crystals matches the number of jewels on the Czarina's dress pictured at a gala in 1906. If you want to see what they wore, rent a book or documentary from your local library, or try to see them on display at a Russian museum or exhibit, instead of relying on a Broadway show based on a 20-year-old cartoon meant for children as an introduction to these chapters of Russian history.
@Kieran Callahan that's a pov. I like both for different reasons, but I'd probably say i prefer the stage costumes, personally
@Kieran Callahan Disney didn't buy 20th Century Fox until two years after this musical came out and three years after it went into production. I don't see how that's relevant, especially considering it went off Broadway around the time the purchase was made anyway.
@Kieran Callahan well, considering all the changes that were made to The Hunchback of Notre-Dame back when that was supposed to go on Broadway a few years ago, i don't think that's likely, but either way, there's still the original movie to enjoy, if that's what you prefer.
@Kieran Callahan it's not garbage, it's just different. There's some really good new content in there, like "Stay, I Pray You," "Quartet at the Ballet," and the ambiguous ending where Anya and Dimitri become the figurines in the music box. It's a really beautiful, sad, and wistful scene. Besides, an exact replica has no purpose being made. Considering what we have been able to confirm about the real Anastasia's death, it would've been wrong not to acknowledge the real history that still impacts Russia to this day.
The last part where Anya in red dress went to the ballroom closely reminds me of the Once Upon a December scene in 1997 movie where Anya in gold dress dances in the ballroom of ghosts. That part gave me nostalgic vibes

Honestly gurl it is amazing, very different from the videos. Fingers crossed you can save some dosh and see the show at some point. If you do go just look out for a good nyc deal, go out of peak season and avoid going on a weekend. I believe they can be found. Hope things work out for you. :)

Manuel Orozco I loved the movie as a child, idolized it, and enjoyed the musical even more! I was shocked! The history aspect of it really makes this come alive. When it comes near you I 💯 recommend it!
Chipper ChelseaKay Well to be honest I was scared of the movie as a kid. But for the sake of the historical aspects being front and center in this version and the sake of my fellow 90’s babies I promised already I can look the other way and enjoy the show. No literalism intended
