I missed this in video... but where did you put this Drillthrough URL measure. It looks like magically you create this and didn't put in anywhare and "More" becomes hyperlink
Crazy that I dont show that!
learn.microsoft.com/en-us/power-bi/create-reports/power-bi-hyperlinks-in-tables?tabs=powerbi-desktop
I also loved the Matrix design !
Thank you so much!
Brilliant idea 😊🤘
Rad, hope to see this as a built in option for tables in the future
Me too!! 😃
Great video, thank you!
🥳
Thank you 🙏
Nice! 😀 MUCH better than the default drillthrough method(s). I will have to give it a try, but I assume you would have to customize the drillthrough measure for each workspace if a report is published to multiple workspaces? 🤔 Thanks, Ruth!
Good point! Maybe with an OR statement you can get around that?
Thank you!
How would this work in conjunction with power bi service "Apps"?
Wonderful!
Thanks for this video @curbal . I suppose you may want to bookmark the default view to go back to the original state.
Yes :)
Please can you post the link to the dashboard video, can’t find it in the playlist. Thanks Ruth!
salla krley na bay thu kya babby hey ka
Saluditos desde Costa Rica, Ruth! Buen vídeo como siempre!
Gracias y saludos!
Good idea wish it would work with a graph. Also in desktop mode?
Agree!
Hola Ruth. Un vídeo súper interesante. Tengo una pregunta, ¿cómo conviertes la medida More en un enlace url? ¿Dónde añades la medida que contiene la url a la página? Gracias.
Aqui tienes como!

@@CurbalEN ¡Muchas gracias Ruth!
💥Thanks for sharing💥. One comment, I always hide the filters pane, how can i set a back button to clear out the applied filter?
The drillthrough back button seems to clear the filters :)
@@CurbalEN I probably should have tried it myself first.. Thanks as always
Nice. I wish though that it did not open a new tab with each drillthrough. When you use the standard way, you will keep working in the same report / tab.
Agree, it has been requested for years :

Why not to use a single button solution????
Assign drill on a button based on selection. EZ and no more issue with new windows/tabs
@mienzillaz it is not intuitive at all. Most users get frustrated with buttons that you can not click :(
@@CurbalEN got you. I was using this successfully on KPI grid, which was still matrix but with some magic behind it. Users could select KPI and then button is activated to take them to the details.
Great job! If the users understand what it is and how to use it then it is great :)
Thanks for this trick. I tried this long back for a customer but only problem was every time it opens a new tab. Another thing I was trying is to filter a slicer in the detailed page using the parameter which was also not possible.
Yeah, all hacks are like that, but despite that, this drillthrough is better. Fingers crossed they will implement it without the shortcomings :(
That is amazing, any idea if this can be replicated without rendering the report all over, so it would navigate to the page?
Unfortunately, links open in new tabs. If they fix that then it is possible.

Could you do a video on Power BI vs Tableau? We published a video about it and would love to hear your point of view.
Never used tableau, so I am afraid it is not possible :(
Hi Ruth, is this opening a new browser window or new tab each time you click on the link? I haven't tried your trick yet, but was looking at something similar about 12 months ago. The annoying thing was that it would open each link in a new tab, but really all I wanted to be able to do was to have a link in a table that linked to a page in the same report :)
Unfortunately, links open in new tabs. If they fix that then it is possible.

I would really like to see the same drill through functionality implemented so we can use as a link, rather than a right click. That way it would work in desktop as well :)
@benhalicki9749 You can do that with my trick
@benhalicki9749 You can do that with my trick, uou dont need to add a new column :)
Can you do that but to go to another page in another report published in the same workspace?
Yes, you should!
Tnx 🙏🏽 does it work in pbi server also?
I dont know, let us know if you try!
Yes it does work!
@ankurkhaparde6641 🥳🥳🥳 Thanks for reporting !
Hi Ruth, do you have the video for the trick in 1:04?
It is in the video description :)
Thnx for idea. However I have issue with solution, since it is always opening in new tab. Do you have idea how we could change this?
Known issue I am afraid!

1 question, bit confused, how did the drill through url measure apply to the drill through text?
It just showed up in the demo so i forgot to show it:
learn.microsoft.com/en-us/power-bi/create-reports/power-bi-hyperlinks-in-tables
is it possible to go to drillthrough page on the same window/tab instead of opening a new window/tab when clicking the "More" link?
Unfortunately, links open in new tabs. If they fix that then it is possible.
community.fabric.microsoft.com/t5/Service/Power-BI-Web-url-to-open-in-same-window/m-p/2664607/highlight/true
If I embed this report, the link won’t work or it is going back to non embed version of the report. Anyway to solve the issue on the embedded report link?
Are special characters in the country name automatically escaped with this method, or is that an extra step you would need to take when generating the URL?
Can this be done in powerbi desktop
If you mean open the links in power bi desktop i am afraid it is not
I've got an impression that link opens in a new tab in browser, does it?
Unfortunately, links open in new tabs:
community.fabric.microsoft.com/t5/Service/Power-BI-Web-url-to-open-in-same-window/m-p/2664607/highlight/true
Is there a way to automatically remove the selected country when going back to first page?
It should be possible…wil check!
@@CurbalEN It will if you use a Back button. This is why on any drill thrus I create...I always have it be a drill through page ONLY...no slicers...no anything a user can click on to get lost...the only thing they can do is hit the Back button to go back where they came from. Oh and HIDE the drill thru page so they cannot click on Summary.
@mcnater thanks for the tips :)
i tried one of my reports but the filter is not working to redirect the page every time the new page opens but corresponding details are not coming
Check the URL , probably something wrong there!
Please make detailed video on same, didnt get proper understanding in this.
Only the field filtering of the current table can be passed, but the surrounding filtering environment cannot be passed
Build the URL with the filters you need!
I liked this idea, but wouldn’t it be more annoying for users to have to go back to the previous page and remove the filter from the pane? They’d want the filter to be removed when navigating the page
Just use the back buttom from drillthrough, it will remove the filters
