Hey Reid! Just want to notice that because of design of the hyperlink measure the Total value still shows us Class = Regular as you use MAX. May be one should tweak it a bit to account for the total.
Great...it's working as expected if we have 2 level hierarchy. Thank you. I have a scenario where I have more than 4-5 levels in the matrix table hierarchy... So at 1st level - it should pick only 1st level value 2nd level = it should pick 1st and 2nd level value 3rd level = it should pick 1st, 2nd and 3rd level value 4th level = it should pick 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 4th level value and add it to the hyperlink to drill through... In this case, will the hasonevalue function will work?.....I tried, but facing challenge...could you please help/provide some inputs here... Thank you.
I just noticed the background color of the drill up/down feature controls on the top of the table, could you please show us how you did it, or if there is already a video about that, could you share iy
"Per client request" - been there done that. Even in this demo it's clearly visible that opening a new tab might take longer than the native drillthrough would, yet clients opt for alternative workaround. They're keeping us in our job though! :D
Very true! Recommendations can only go so far, and the client sometimes wants what the client wants! But I thought this was a good example of a workaround that "works" but not necessary perfect, and shows clients that I have to work with sometimes.
Great video! It is possible to add ability to for multiple drill through options in a single cell? For example, the user can click on a value and either get a sales volume per region report or a sales volumes per product report.
With the hyperlink option not really unfortunately. You'd need to resort to traditional drill through page options via right-click. If you wanted a list of pages to go to, from the cell.
Definitely! Any workaround can require a bit more technical debt and configuration considerations. End of the day it weighs down to whether or not the payoff is worth it :)
Can we apply the same and upload it to Report server instead of Power BI service ? I tried constructing the weburl but the Report server does not provide a report section in the query parameter, any leads?
great job again Reid.

Fair point! You could use SELECTEDVALUE instead of MAX then to solve this issue.
Today I've learned you can also add bookmark ID's to your hyperlinks. Found that really helpful for standardising/customising the 'landing experience'

@@HavensConsulting plus always appreciate an episode on "The art of the possible" :-)

It's works fine but I have to keep certain slicers and those needs to be same

Not for report server sadly. It needs to be in the cloud service to get these unique URLs
The filters are applied for all pages in the report, can we limit them to just the drill-through page ?
If you just have those slicers synced to the drill-through page then you should be able to apply the filters to just between those two pages
@@HavensConsulting
Could you make a video for this type of situation where you sync the slicer to just the drill through page? Thanks
Noted, thank you! @@Vpatel169
Hey Reid
we are just starting with using power BI. But our power BI is ON PREM, do you have any suggestion to on prem
I'd recommend RADACAD's article on On-Prem :)
radacad.com/power-bi-report-server-power-bi-in-on-premises-world
One click functionality is long due by microsoft
This just doesn't seem to work. can't get the URL to appear where the matrix values are :Z
the Filter from the URL doesnt seem to be working, kept giving me incorrect filter value
Would be great if you could show me what the URL currently is :)
