Hi Leila, I am learning these features through your Power BI course, but still enjoying these videos as well! Thank you! And congratulations on getting 2M+ subscribers! Way to go, all the best! 😊👍
I'm new to PowerBI and recently discovered this channel. Of all the ones I've checked out, very few offer the same level of quality content, particularly in how well it's presented, as this one does. Well done.
'Thursdays With Leila' back again! ... 👏👏👏 ... Leila's P-BI "appetizers" are sooooo tempting ... but not so good for someone with ADHD, i.e. "OMG ... look at THIS! ... Oh WOW!!! I can do THAT? ... OH, what's that for? ...COOL!!! ... VERY COOL!!! ... OMG, look over HERE!!!! ...". I salivate at the thought of the full meal (i.e. P-BI course), but alas it will be a while before I can sit at the table and focus ...😟 ... but when I do, I now know there will be a 'piece of cake' along with the meal ... 😋. Thank you ... thank you .... thank you ... 😍 ...😍 ... 😍
🤣 Yes - we're nearly back - except next Thursday. Our team is off recovering from the Power BI course. But after that we should be back to our weekly dates. It's a good thing I'm having coffee and cake (what they call in German a "Mohnkuchen") as I'm reading your comment 😋
No it isn't clear. How does the first page relate to the drill through page. What is the data source form the first page and which field is the foreign key to the Stores table on the second page. I watched this video and she clicks fields willy-nilly and there is no visual clue on how any of these values relate to each other. This is entertainment not education.
I love how you say "let me show you". This does take an effort to predict operations needs but overall I love this tutorial. I have not really used the drill through options in power bi but I have added links to details pages in a similar fashion. I think this method will improve my methodology. Thank you so much for the insight and keep up these videos. You really have your finger on the pulse of what operations will desire from these tools and explain it very well. Love the videos! 😊
You are awesome. Thank you for sharing informative videos like this. Could you also advise how to clear the filter once drill through filter is applied?
Hi Leila, I've been following your amazing work for some time now and it has been very important to me. That said, and regarding this topic (drill through) I would like to ask a question: I have found drill through examples only with charts, however I wonder if it applies to tables? i.e. I have a table of summaries (e.g. order forms) but I would like to see more details (the respective articles) by drilling through. I hope you can help me. Thank you!
thanks for the video! super helpful! A query though - is it possible to retain selection of chart (in this case) when we go back to main page from drillthrough page using back button
Happy new Year…thx for sharing another amazing video…there is no drill through option when I right click…what did I do wrong 😢? Many thanks for any tips in advance…
Excellent work, may I suggest that you add some transparency to your mouse pointer, as its sometime difficult to follow which button you clicked specially for visual impaired.
Super helpful!! One additional question. After watching your video, I made a drill through report to a page that shows me the underlying claim details for a given doctor. The claims detail are show in a matrix table, that has a date hierarchy of (year, month, day). When I do the drillthrough, the hierarchy is always collapsed, but I'd prefer to have the hierarchy always expanded when I drill through. Is this possible? Thanks!
Great Explanation on Drill through Function. I have a query, Just by clicking on Pie chart/bar chart--It has to show corresponding detailed tabular information in another page(it has to perform Drill through function and navigates to different page by one click on bar) instead of going with button option(or selecting bar->right click->drill through->selecting page) or without using Drill through selection page.
this works great, the only issue i have is with the details button that you have shown sitting on top of the bar chart visual. Even if i format this button to be at "the front", once i've clicked on the bar chart visual which enables the "more details" button, I need to click away first before i am able to click the button to drill through. If i don't do this i am just clicking on the bar chart visual again disabling the button. Any tips?
Hi Leila, could you please show us, either through a video or by replying to this comment, how to add dynamic text in the button/shape as demonstrated in the last few minutes of the video? Thanks!
@@ntimikk slicers and other filters to get criteria, have a pivot tied and double click on numbers to drill down. Most of my reports do this and not a dashboard.

Another super useful video from super lady.
Moves along fast for a beginner, not the speed so much as what user needs to know before viewing. Good info, through, for an intermediate level user.

Can you create a dash board such that it can drill through?
