Hope you are all well. This week we get stuck into the 335i installing new FMIC intercooler, BC Racing coilovers and 7twenty wheels. I do love a project and this one seems to be getting more and more modified as the weeks go by!

I build n54 and n55 motors for a living. If you are wanting to go over 15 psi you have to get an aluminum charge pipe. The oem plastic will explode. Also for a tune id recommend MHD, super easy to work with and great results

One urgent suggestion from a N54 owner: change the stock chargepipe when you up the boost, they always leak at the stock diverter valve seals and are prone to cracking at the throtthle body.

If it's a street build then just roll the fenders and up your rear width and save time, over cutting and adding the wide panels to paint. The car looks great though
Please build out the N54, it is such a capable engine that everyone always gives up on for drifting from limp mode issues. This platform is the future of drifting, there will be a day when we run out of jzs and the n54 is what will replace it

MHD is the best off the shelf tune for a N54 currently, great price, live data viewing, automatic data logging if wanted, etc.
Get some catless downpipes on it and stage 2+ MHD flash and it'll be a totally different car

I'd say you have to check the bearings first. Then a thicker headgasket maybe to lower the compression so you can add more boost. Everything else should be fine
I had a 335i, make sure you decat the downpipes, and then go for something like a JB4 tune. I loved it, adjustable on the fly between maps, only problem is, if your coil packs etc are going bad you'll run into fault codes. But I guess it's not a bad thing, better than it blowing. Map 5 on the JB4 is adjustable so if you stick better fuel +meth injection etc jn it'll up the boost. Also you can get a tuner to flash jn a map onto the jb4 if you need it. Works for anything from a stock car right up to a single turbo conversion.
JB4 is ass. MHD is leagues ahead of Jb4

Basicly get MHD tuning App, replace stock plastic chargepipes with aluminium, and upgrade Downpipe. Then later HPFP for bigger and In tank low pressure pump To wahlbro 450 or So. Hybrid twins should be good To 500+ hp. More ofc Singleturbo, and Port Injection.

I’d personally go down the route of a JB4. Fairly easy to install and really tuneable. I’ve work on 2 335i’s with JB4 and it’s awesome. Easy to use and make really good power

Using the MHD android app to flash a tune on the car is definitely an easy way to get a lot more power. They are still developing the maps all the time. Buy the cable & map(s) and you are away! Stage1 + or stage 2+ if you have catless downpipes and that should give you up to 18psi. I would definitely recommend upgrading the plastic charge pipe especially for a drift car, they can hold the boost for a while under street driving but under hard driving with a lot of on/off throttle it will fail eventually. MHD you can even monitor things in real time, see things like boost, temps etc plus data logging. Keen to see this car being developed from owning a 335i myself, although its my daily driver and my R33 Skyline is the drift car.

JB4 and a MHD flash is the easiest way to get big boost in the N54 or N55.
looks cool with how wide it is
ceramic coated downpipe and aluminium charge pipe plus dual intake gave me more than400 go and double boost and it was awesome and reiable
I'm not a fan of the wheels sticking out so much, but as he said a wider fender will sort that out

Next mod should be a new charge pipe because the stock one is plastic and also some intakes. I recommend Burger Motorsport. I love the build and hope you keep going at it! 🙏🙏🙏

vrsf catless downpipes, you'll need to swap out the charge pipe too. jb4 for a piggyback tune.

Single turbo conversion is a good way to go with it. I think you can get upto around 600-700hp to the wheels.
And be working on it every other day.

Yep, it's 50Hz
Lights are really good with the naked eye in the workshop. Unfortunately the camera pick up these flickers sometimes.
@@JamesDeane130- depending on what camera you're shooting with, it may have a setting for adjusting the flicker out.

get an MHD tuner? Don't know if they deliver the power they say it will but it should make a difference without spending thousands of dollars getting it dyno tuned, fuel pump etc... (more attractive to new drifters too because it's cheaper)
