I feel like maybe they don't do it, beacuse it can be misleading. Alingment depends a lot on what the driver wants to feel and/or achieve (and of course, suspension rates and geometry, chassis, car weight, track, track surface, and more), especially caster and ackerman, for example some people prefer a lot of self steering, so they need higher caster to achive that feeling. Good thing that James says a lot of times "what I find that works for me" or something along these lines. I personally rather that they share it more often, so people can associate a driver's style and/or how the car reacts to certain inputs, to an alingment spec. But either way, unless you have a mechanic or an engineer that does that for you, you need to learn how it works, both theory and trial and error, and ultimately, like James says, find what works for you
@@danielpaiva3833 I remember when it first got announced they were taking part in fd I was talking to some people from America and they had no idea who james or piotr are... They aren't going to forget them in a hurry 😂
And that's what I like about drifting. Even as the champ he does the work on his cars himself, having the beasts sit in a humble little shed, wrenching and getting dirty the night before the journey to the competition, taking measures with the phone app and sharing his alignment setup. Well, I am sure not every pro drifter does it like that, I don't really watch FD or else on a regular schedule so I can't really say... But the fact that the champ himself does it like this is wonderful. Much love and all the best in your future projects from Germany! FD just aint the same without good ole 130. Your stateside fans miss you, and we hope you return. Despite all thats happened, i wanted to immortalize your '19 championship car in Forza Horizon 4 and think this video helped give it a little bit of your character. The info is appreciated and we wish you the best!
Mad respect to you James for sharing all this with us! Love all the mean but clean looking cars you have inside the garage A fan from Malaysia, watching your video all the way from NZ :-)
Huge thanks for sharing your alignment setup. I run the wisefab v2 on my s14 and have played around with different settings. Im going to try these specs and see how it feels.
Hello James. Really great that you are sharing your setup info and tricks. Have been playing around with different settings on my s13, never been happy with my settings. Now i will try using same settings as you. Cool that you share this with everyone. Respect 👊
I bet those extra lock kits come in handy when you are trying to jam all those cars into the workshop. 😂 Looking forward to seeing you shread the RX7 again. I really love that car, it's just perfect 👌
James, I’ve just seen a comment that someone is missing you in fd. Someone replied that Aasbo isn’t missin you. You need to keep scaring these drivers, man. Always channel your inner machine...
Cheers for sharing. Its good to know we are in the same ballpark. Do you run a heavy front spring to help transfer weight to the rear? Like 10kg or 12kg?
Keep the content coming please.. id love to hear some of your top favourite moments from over the years of drifting.. i first heard about you when you was driving for low brain drifters years and years back and I remember goin to there shop and Julian saying you was a driver to watch out for.. 😁 Definitely wasn't wrong 😂 keep up the great work mate.. look forward to see what you got planned next 😁
Love that S14 it’s one of my favourite cars❤️I want to see this car back competing looking forward to seeing what plans you have for it keep up the great work man!
Thank you James, missing the candy machine in FD this year but excited to see whats next for you and piotr. This video is very helpful, as someone who is getting a bunch of aftermarket suspension bits for my s14. Right now I'm slowly replacing arms, have toe and camber arms for the rear just to try and square up the car after dropping it on BCs. What do you run for a ride height by the way? And what would be your recommendations for next must haves in suspension bits? I'm dailying it so I'm not going full wise fab. Thanks for being awesome!
Super footage and insight to drifting, what a garage to have, what type of car would you recommend for a first timer to get started in this sport, my sons got hooked on it and that's all he talks about and watches .....keep the movie clips coming, great stuff 👍
Love the content James! Also, sort of ironic since you're in Ireland on those tyres, could you tell Falken to actually sell the RT615k+ in Europe as well?
A awesome for you to share your alignment settings!!! Thank you!!!!! 🙏🙏🙏🙏 By any chance, would you consider doing an episode on shock settings? 😅🤘🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏
Great wee video James 🤙🏼👍🏻 I've often wondered does the wise fab change the rear geometry much or atall versus other kits . I'm just a suspension nerd 🤣
Thanks for sharing and will continue to support you guys! I myself am also a Drifter, using s chassis and 2jz as my platform too, but I mostly share about 2jz engine building tips.. Pls continue your efforts and take care! :)
so let me try a wild guess; RDS or D1GP this year ? just hope to see you on FD next year, and im pretty sure sponsorship wont be a problem for you, success and show us what a 100 points lap looks like.
Amazing vid as always.... I missed the reason behind no FD this year. I was only going to watch FD for James. Was it the Worthouse split? Anyone? Thanks.
Great video James! I’ve been playing with the rear setup on my S14. Do you make the traction arm longer to stop it toeing out on compression? Mine now toes out too just a tiny bit of toe in on compression but wondered if I should lengthen it even more. Cheers, C
Nice, been waiting for this video for a while. Some of the guys I know strugle to get the caster low, any tips or advice on that? Also what rate of spring up gront?
Interesting, when the car squats, what's the avg camber of the rear? does it go to 0*? James any chance of putting an engine back in the 2 time champ and giving her a run?
Good stuff! Pretty cool a pro sharing his knowledge on car setup. I'm getting my car ready for my first pro competition here in Canada in 2 weeks. Quick question, what do you like for ride height? I usually have my car 1" reverse rake and haven't really tried anything different. Any input is greatly appreciated!
I'd start calling it a forward rake, since that's what it is, easy to visualize.. or [negative rake] maybe if you're watching F1 or driving a Lambo lol. [who does that ?]
Hi! Are you running roughly the same setup on the bmw? Do you change the toe in on the rear when its wet? Or just adjust shocks and tyre pressure? Best regards Martin
Could be cool to build the old worthouse shell into a car for a series of videos, imagine oyu probably have enough spares to make it into something good
i wish you could setup LZ car and give him some coaching, he has a similar kind of car you have, but with a different tire sponsor its unlikely but he does have the same suspension as you, so maybe
On s-chassi the rear wheel moves forward when the car squats? How much do you want the tire to move forward? i drive a s14 without rear wisefab and i want to make it best possible. Any tips?
I'm playing Assetto Corsa a bit. Eurofighter E93 there quickly goes into big angles after changing direction of drifting. It also loses grip badly when suspension expanding. I wonder how to calm her down with the setup itself. Would you have a hint? Who do you think will be champion of the FD 2020 :D? Will be soon some update about future plans? Cheers:)
First person I see who is sharing all the numbers that he runs. That shows how confident and humble the dude is.
so helpful to learn setup stuff to us grass roots guys! thank for not hiding the numbers.
When you are the best in the game you dont need to keep your setup secret, it takes more than that to be that good
He’s real man. It the transparency that’s shows who he really is. Mad props as always.
