One of JR's last great victories on Dallas. The writers really screwed him over once Jock died. Seemingly everything went wrong for him after that, starting with that bullshit "Bobby winning Ewing Oil" which would NEVER happen in real life.
Between I Dream Of Jeannie's crazy Major Nelson and Dallas' devious JR Ewing, Larry Hagman proved he could do anything, and he did it very very well. RIP, Larry.
JR made a big mistake by coming home celebrating and saying isn't anyone going to thank me for making us billionaires. He almost cost his family Southfork and he put everyone through hell. He should have been contrite, humble, and grateful that everything worked out in the end. He lost a lot of respect and understanding from Jock for not realizing the possible ramifications from his actions. Those oil wells caused problems when they were nationalized then were returned to the oil men after the counter revolution which JR financed which was an illegal act.
