I was genuinely looking for an excuse to buy another lens and the kind of footage you are getting from the stock kit has convinced me to jus use the kit lens. Thanks so much!
Spot on! Using only a kit lens forces you to not only understand the importance of lighting, and using more lights instead of just getting a fast lens, you learn to manage your ISO settings and learn limitations of your camera, but yes all this applies to the category of vlogging and casual cinematics, an exception would be if you want to make a very moody dark scene, this camera doesn't have a dual native ISO so you can't keep a deep focus, low ISO and clean image and ETTR altogether. You need that fast lens to shoot below 2000 ISO in a very dimly lit scene
I totally agree. The kit lens on ZV-E10 that I had worked just fine. And I'm using the kit lens (mostly) since I've upgraded to the ZV-E1, which I highly recommend to E10 users who want to upgrade because it runs almost exactly like the E10, with a few HUGE upgrades. As a result, an E10 user can walk right in and start using the E1 with just a very little learning curve.
I like to use kit lens for my videos. This lens is very comfortable, very light. It has a stabilizer, you can take video without Gimbal. Evan was able to make a very amazing video with excellent color correction.
Best video i watched with kit lense, people are using additional lense and thats creating doubt to buy a lense but you proved it that we dont need it thanks
I very much support your point of keeping your set as simple as possible! I'm insanely happy to write this comment and realize that I own a ZV-E10 and I'm shooting gigabytes of video, practicing, trying, experimenting and enjoying the process right now

Impressive what you managed to pull out of that little ZV and a kit lens. It's not at all about the camera, focus on the story and learn the craft is what's important. Keep up the good work, cheers from Croatia :)

hiii, what sd card do you use, and what is important to look at when buying one for this zv e10? (Im going to use it for studio recording video) also awsome video, best ive ever seen about a camera so far! :)
I mean, if it’s the same as the a6100, at the widest it’s f3.5…which is “technically “ better than the 18-105 f4 lens…if I didn’t use the zv1f for vlogging I would use that kit lens. Sleeper lens for sure.
Hi Evan, Thank you for this presentation. Can you share your device settings to achieve this video quality? and those in post production if you can? Thank you for your help.
I love this video so much! My only question though is how you get such crisp noiseless footage? The wider aperture for the kit lens is 3.5 and I always use it on 1/50 because I shoot on 24fps but even with lower ISO there is still some very noticeable noise in my footage. Been cracking my head over that one. Would love to hear your/anyone approach on that!
Hey dude, I'm following you since one month now. I'm searching RUclips video all the day about the best caméra and lens and I was wondering if a sigma 16mm 1.4 sony or a sigma 18-50mm f2.8 was worth buying actually on the ZVE10. And also hesitating with the Canon R50... But... then I watch this video... let's just fuckin go for the camera with the kit lens. I'll try that and then see if I want to put a budget in others things :-) Thanks again !! Love your content and the quality of your videos. I was wondering, do you have any video (I didnt find it) where you explain your color grading and camera option ? (especially in low light) I find those shots so good :3
Thanks for the informative video, i bought this camera to use it for cooking videos but im feeling a bit frustrated cause the focus of the camera keep switching between my hands and other equipment while working which doesn’t make the video look smooth and professional, I don’t know if this is the wrong the camera for this type of filming or maybe I’m doing the wrong sitting, but as i know that the intelligent auto mode is the one recommended which I use, i would really appreciate your reply.
No problem, glad you found some value in this one! Sounds like an auto focus issue maybe try having your focus to dead centre and MAKE SURE Product Showcase is turned off!
Its good enough for videos, but for photography and low light scenarios its really soft and distortion filled which makes you question the camera is trash itself. ( Actually it's the lens though).
Hello Evan. I'm a french guy. Thank you for such an interesting and informative video! It encourages me to get started on my own. I have a question though: I've bought the K&F filter you recommended, but I'm hesitating between 2 cameras, the Sony you present of course (ZV-E10) or the Nikon Z30 which looks very good too. Does the filter I bought fit on the Nikon as well? Thanks in advance for your reply 🙏🏻
@@EvanLindy Rumor at this point. Viltrox 23mm f1.4 is exceptional and on budget. The kit lense is really crappy. Your suggestion to change the camera kit directly instead of the lense doesn't make any sense. Changing with quality lens you get enormous quality.

Thanks bro. I colour grade with a combination of LUTs I've purchase and created myself! One day I'll release my own LUTs that replicate my grade and a video but wont be for awhile probably.
BRO what color profile are you using for the zve10 and how are u exposing your shots? I’m still figuring out my zve10 and it doesn’t look as good as yours. I was hunting for lenses until u threw this curveball at me

Thank you very much! My camera settings list is currently available on my patreon if you’d like to check it out.
@@EvanLindy ohhhhh yesssssss thank you ❤️
Viltrox 23mm f1.4 is exceptional and on budget.
The kit lense is really crappy.
Your suggestion to change the camera kit directly instead of the lense doesn't make any sense. Changing with quality lens you get enormous quality.
Hi Evan, how do you color grade your cenimatic footage? Please share the secret! Thanks. 😊
Bru.. what setting do you use? picture profile? how you edit, color grade? so many questions... but just follow
Appreciate the follow brother 🫡 Currently you can find my full camera settings list here: www.patreon.com/posts/104905334? also one small editing breakdown on there.
@@EvanLindy thank you
YOOOOO YOU GOT ME!
Hahaha got it in a Christmas exchange, thought it would come handy in a video!
Would you recommend it for recording my first short film? I want it to look good but Im not so demanding given that it would be my first project and I want to learn with the process as you say haha
A personal short film for sure BUT a commercial short film or something your getting payed for maybe not. Best of luck with the film!
how did you do your cinematic color grading? we'd really appreciate a tutorial!
Yeah one day Ill make a tutorial on that 🤝
hello brother, love your videos. I just wanna know do you color grade your videos or not. Or the effect you have in your videos is due to filter because if it is due to filter i will buy it i do not know how to color grade. If you do color grade your videos can you make a video on it.
Thanks bro. I colour grade with a combination of LUTs I've purchase and created myself! One day I'll release my own LUTs that replicate my grade and a video but wont be for awhile probably.
Bro did you actually throw that lens away?
It's not lens just cocfe cup😂😂
i wanna know where you poured that water into...
On to a towel on my carpeted floor… Anything for the Vlog 🤣
now I feel really bad for my zve10 :( I have been treating him so bad
Gets a lot of undeserved hate haha solid little camera for its price!
BRO what color profile are you using for the zve10 and how are u exposing your shots? I’m still figuring out my zve10 and it doesn’t look as good as yours.
I was hunting for lenses until u threw this curveball at me
PP OFF… If you’d like you can find my full Sony ZV-E10 settings list here: www.patreon.com/posts/104905334?
Very nice intro
Thank you!
Any videos on how you edit and color grade?
Colour grading no. But theres one little editing breakdown on my patreon if you wanted to check it out: www.patreon.com/posts/92343781?
I bought Tamron lens 17-70mm. Image quality is awesome but it's heavy as fck.
Heard great things about that lens!
What kind of setting you use in this video to get a cinematic outcome?
