Congratulations! You enabled a yarn goblin's addiction with your FB recommendation! I've been using it everyday to look at housing and it NEVER clicked to get yarn off of it, now I've found a yarn warehouse just a few miles away selling yarn for $1 a skein as well as dozens of people in town selling yarn, oh happy days 🥰

I am very new to crochet. I learned the basic stitches years ago, but never really did anything with that knowledge until recently because my interest in the crafts I pick up is almost cyclical in nature: I learn something, give it a brief go, and then find something else and repeat the process. Sometimes I come back to a craft, sometimes I don’t.
That being said, I think it’s fairly important for people like myself to get the basics down first. You don’t necessarily need to make A Thing ™️ right away: it might feel wasteful to make just random swatches while you practice, but you are never wasting materials by learning and experimenting with them. That’s part of the process! No one starts anything perfectly, and imo, it is better to really get a feel for the craft by honing in on fundamentals than it is to overwhelm yourself with a large or complicated pattern from the drop.

Unfortunately my town does not have a local yarn shop. The most we have is 1 quilt shop and they don't sell yarn

I like your honesty. I am new and VERY dedicated. I am making a mesh shrug. It is my first attempt at making a clothing piece. Like you, i have figured it out. I am obsessed now. 😃💖🧶

I’ve been crocheting since october 2022, and I’ve learned a lot of things since then ofc. I had a hard time knowing my tension and yarn weight vs hook size, but now thats just a fun challenge. My style of clothing also changed and I dont wear any of my crochet wearables because they dont fit me or my vibe. I have two bralettes (ig?), but I am not actually comfortable with showing that much skin outside my room... I also have a vest (its one I saw on pinterest, its pretty popular and I think its called the sweetheart vest, it has a colorwork heart back and a heart cutout front) which a) the heart is pretty ugly and kinda looks like a potato and b) I wouldnt typically wear those colors like that. While I rn have a lot of patterns I’m following pretty strictly, I actually prefer free-hand because I like testing my brain out. I still have trouble with sizing and how garments will look vs how Iwant them to look, but thats okay. Its all in the progress. Thanks for the video ❤

I now see why other people look at me like I'm insane when I say I've only been crocheting for almost 3 months
