Maybe try the opposite. Try to lose your queen. What did George say? If you know your thinking is bad, don't listen.
The beauty of the chess is that if something doesn't work, there's probably good reason that it doesn't work.
Sometimes I do queen sacrifice...... But for Resignation

it's funny you mention it, the British grandmasters are forbidden to sacrifice the queen.
India, as a member of commonwealth, does not have such a strict rule, but you are frown upon if you sac the queen and don't win a brilliant game afterwards.
That's so interesting.

Not really. He ded
@Oissev Onos there you go. I almost lost faith in RUclips.
I’d show my family but they’d be too scared of the Tal quote.
"Queens are temporary
Pride is forever"
- Kantholi
Kantholi is not exactly his family name but his native place, as is the custom in Kerala, South India where he is from. So it is more apt to call him Ratnakaran, or Ratna for short.
Which agadmator does so well.
Important thing was he gave up Queen for 1 knight.
That was the bizarre part.
But the fact is he didn't capture that right away...
@@manoojkumaarbalasubramania3878 thats what high-level players do. See the whole game out before acting.
Jeez, what a beast. calling him tal is so fitting.
That knight capture in slowmo @60fps is sooo awesome. 😀
specially the part when pawn bleeds and its all red drops in the air and camera shifts slowly from side to side.
I feel this unbelievable. I was privileged to play against ratnakaran during my school and college days.
The computer analysis of the queen sacrifice is really interesting. The engine recommends not sacrificing the queen and instead capturing the pawn with the queen, but if you make this move, the engine immediately evaluates white as much better. But if you go against the engine's recommendation and sacrifice the queen as Ratnakaran did, the engine suddenly evaluates an improvement for black.
that legit doesnt make sense on the engine's part, thats some bad evaluations then lol. its like dont make the move, but if u make it, u get an advantage
@@rohangeorge712
That's because engines don't consider all the lines. They only consider those that look decent. So a queen sacrifice without immediate advantage is probably not considered by engine. But when you play the move and engine goes deep into that line, that's when it realises that it's a good move.
Just checked lichess analysis of this game. It shows +1.3 after c×d5 and recommends Q×d5 after which evaluation is +1.4. After playing N×d5 the evaluation goes to 2.5. With B×Q it drops to 0.4 and with Knight capture it drops to 0. The most interesting part of the analysis to me was that at 4:54 engine suggests the same move that he played instead of capturing the bishop. At this moment engine says take the c7 pawn and it's still a draw but after the move in the game it's -1.1.
Once, I calculated how I will win the game in 10 moves after sacrificing my queen.....
But
Then I realized I didn't have Queen
*have
*HavE
Good one boss👌😂
@Pichkalu Pappita bruh it's have, take it from a native speaker.
No, “didn’t “ is always used with the present form of the main verb.
This man continues to slay the name pronunciation game 👏👏 I applaud you
This is a very interesting game. Most of the time when you see a queen sacrifice, it is based on an impending checkmate. Here, black gives up the queen early in the game, yet completely dominates, and there really isn't much white can do. It really shows you just how powerful a superior position, and piece development is.
WOW, that´s one of the most exciting chess games i´ve ever seen!
Damn Ratnakaran's mustache is so solid it almost looks drawn on
This is one of the most amazing games I've ever seen. He deserves the title "Indian Tal" for this game alone.
When Antonio says "this game is a must see," I pay attention! What a delightful game that was!
"Activity above all !", this was against the idea of balance of power, just beautiful....
I second that! _(The greatest moves are done during the most active games at the highest risk.)_
Such games are very rare because Queen sacrifices are very dangerous and not many players take such risks against titled players, but also because of the fact that their is usually some drawback or way that the enemy can pounce back. These games are truly out of this world and should be enjoyed to the fullest because of the great thought and effort put into them. Great production agadmator and marvelously played Kantholi Ratnakaran (got to give him respect for a move that maybe players like Anand, and Carlsen wouldn't have played.)
Greatest Queen sacrifice but no water sacrifice by agadmator
6:10 since when did discoveries start being nice instead of nasty?
Nezhmetdinov & Tal would be proud :)
and also all of his tactical predecessors as well.. Alekhine, Spielmann, and of course the legendary

I've been watching your videos and they have really helped me improve my game I went from 1400 to 1700 since I started watching. Also my grandma taught me how to play. I dont live near her, so we dont really get to play. But every birthday of hers I go over and play. I beat her for the first time in a first to 5. She cried with happiness. Insane game. Tal would be proud.
There's no way anyone can comment on all those options and moves so quickly. My theory is he has a really deep voice and it's played at double speed.

It's distortion in audio so. It happened twice in the video
It's because the king couldn't move to e2 as it was guarded by the bishop on b5
I heard that and I thought he mouthed it to represent a lost game or bad move.
That's why i love indian grand-masters.. they always come up with interesting yet, unknown openings that will make yourself want to play against him.
You can't have ANiceSipOfMyWater® without asking us to pause the video and find the move that Black played. Not fair buddy

I checked in stockfish. Nxd5 (giving up the queen) was an accurate move. In the 1st half of the match, he played like an engine.

Got to thank Agad, Suren, Daniel Leite, Anna Rudolph and the other YTs for making me interested on this fascinating game! Keep it up with the good job, Antonio! Cheers from Bra-fucking-sil =D
What amazes me is your ability to pronounce Indian names so accurately! And there is no doubt that you try and know the pronunciation before you make the video. Kudos to that!

Also less accurate

I sacrifice pieces often. It mostly works for the opponent.

Truly masterful play by black. I have been exploring the English opening for a few weeks now and was wondering about this "Reverse Sicilian" and if it was real.
Great video!

After seeing thumbnail pic I thought Pablo Escobar playing chess.

yeah. how the why they are playing this game LOL
I keep coming back to this game. Yes, if you're Indian, you can take pride in it and that's okay, but the beautiful thing about chess is than anyone can take joy in a game well-played. It comes down to 2 guys, 2 sets of pieces, and a chessboard. It's not about nationality, but about making good moves. To sac a queen so early in the game in such a fluid position and come out on top--what can I say but 'wow!'
A really spectacular game definitely worth seeing!
