Bought mine new in 1994. They were a hot item at the time and dramatically more popular than the no-date variant. I would get calls from the dealer yearly asking if I felt like selling it back to them. Best purchase I’ve ever made. Worn daily. When I bought the watch they said never to sleep with these on because it will cause undue stress on the band.
Of all the comments and reviews I've read & watched about this particular model number and Rolex Sub in general, this is the first time I come across with someone saying that the AD calls from time to time to ask whether the owner wants to sell it back. Goes to show how hot and scarce the 16610 is/was!
Pre-ceramic all the way. They've never improved on perfection. Sorry that the Sea-Dweller has gone, but I can see how this is the better everyday wear. Beautiful watch!
The Invicta Pro Diver was designed based on this exact watch. While watching this video I am comparing the two while holding the Invicta. There is an "X-factor" in which there is no comparison. The Rolex is perfectly beautiful.
realize this is from a couple of years ago. but why not measure the diameter precisely. i have seen other you tube videos that say this is a 40.2 mm and that the new subs are only 40.5 mm although rolex calls it a 41mm watch. would appreciate your comment. thanks.
I’m over Rolex and have sold two of my modern pieces and will sell my other two in time . Don’t like the modern image of Rolex I think most people are driven by the name on the dial and brand recognition than the actual watch . However I really wish that I had invested in perhaps a pre ceramic sub and gmt around 20 years ago , there’s a purity that modern pieces just don’t have ..i
This is the best sub ever. For me, I’d prefer 14060m but I’d get 16610 because: 1) SEL if it’s a newer version 2) you can purchase the bracelet for the Ginault ocean rover and it’s completely compatible with the 16610 with SEL and a copy of the 6 digit sub glide lock clasp, while keeping the OEM bracelet in good condition and unworn
Marshall Time I think you’d have to contact them on their website or via social media. I’m not sure if they sell them separately but I don’t see why they wouldn’t. At worse you would have to buy one of the watches I guess...but contact them and see! Good luck and keep us updated if you’re able to purchase one! Would love to see a video about it

I agree! Thanks
That watch is really beautiful. The only thing that I don’t like about it is the clasp design.

I like the look of these I just do not like the pressed clasps, very cheap for such a watch!

Love lug holes on my submariner.
