Moved to Kuala Lumper and owned the Blusey, sold that and had the SD two tone and Omega racing master chronometer speedy. Not a city to wear anything that attracts attention. Sold them all to buy stocks, which have appreciated (thankfully). Now back in the UK and considering a one and done piece. Anyway love seeing your content as i have a special attachment to the UAE. Enjoy in good faith.

Currently wearing a 14060M 2-liner. 14060M and 16610 have so much going for them; slim cases, good movements, sapphire crystals, less blingy than modern versions. They sit in a sweet spot for me.
After buying and wearing many Subs (116610, 126610, 16610 date), I sold the 126610 date and non date (big thing on wrist !!) sold the Hulk (sometimes annoyingly green). And decided will never sell the 16610 (My beautiful minimalist daily wear). And also kept 116610 as it wears better than 126610. Keep this one Michael !!

Nice submariner. I just picked up a Rolex explorer 2 polar dial from the AD the other day. I never sell watches I just keep adding to the collection. Then you have no regrets and no money at the same time. Looks like a great place to have a drink. I have a 2008 Kermit/ and the Starbucks mark 2 dial. Just store them away if you get tired of the watch. Then bring the watch out 6 months later. You will love it again.
You're spot on about some very seductive watch photography, and consequent impulsive acquisitions. However this is where Rolex is smart - any regrets, and you don't lose money. I don't own a Rolex, but I can see some random sense in it, crazy world as it is that we live in.
I bought a 16610 in 2005 brand new. been wearing it ever since, can't live without it. will never sell it.. just bought a Patek 5127J as a complimentary dress watch.. Cheers
Yeah the price for the OG Kermit takes the fun out of it. Doesn’t feel like a watch at that price point. Great watch but never really got comfortable wearing it around bc of the price. Sold mine after owning under a month as well.

It would be great if you could do a whole video talking about your perception of a messge a watch you are wearing is sending to the audience/enviroment. Like the young guy in a mall you have mentioned once in a video, he was wearing a rose gold daydate and a Cartier love bracelet. I fully understood your point of view, that you could not have a serious conversation with that guy. I have once read: „clothes you wear is a story you want to tell to the others about who you are, but your watch is a story you are telling to yourself about who you are.“ People can help you choose clothes to wear, but cannot help you to choose your watch.

I couldn’t agree with you more on the flatness of the GMT vs the six digit sub. I had a 12 series sub and could not get on with its thickness and size. My BLNR now feels just perfect, but I still love subs. I’m definitely considering a five digit submariner as my next watch, however, for $10K USD it’s a bit much for a used watch.
Class move mate. Hulk would have also been excellent. Not sure if my comment on the other video was edited or not but you should get rid of the Batgirl and pick up the GRNR Bruce Wayne on a jubilee. From the dial to the colorway, this is what is relevant going forward. The blue/black has had its day and yes in 10 years or so there will be a revival. But right now it is just not a good look.
When will Rolex realize they made a mistake with the maxi case references, and then failed to remedy the mistake with a 41mm sub? The antidote is a classic 5 digit sub with the new bracelet. And keep the aluminum insert; or make a steel insert. Tired of ceramic

Pre ceramic Sea Dweller 16600 is my one and done, just can’t live more than 24hrs without a date function. The way the heavier dweller wears is unique

Have you ever compared the 16610 solid end link bracelet with the hollow one? I found the SEL didn't fit my wrist that well, but felt better quality

Love the sub 16610. Trust me, mate, this will appreciate over time. The sub 41 is a chunk of metal. The 16610 is a model of perfect proportions.

Thoughts on putting a Kermit bezel insert onto a 16610? You get the Kermit look, but with the non-maxi dial, at a much cheaper price point.
