    As a Liverpool fan, slot has transformed a lot of our players, Diaz, gakpo, and gravenberch are looking like completely different players. Gakpo and diaz' finishing has improved fantastically, and gravenberch has become a massive presence in the midfield. I know this is a bit far fetched but I really think we can challenge for the title this season

    Ruud Gullit wasn’t a central midfielder. He was primarily a forward, often playing as a No. 10, but his versatility allowed him to excel in almost every position on the pitch, except goalkeeper.

    • @SKa-tt9nm
      @SKa-tt9nm 4 месяца назад +7

      Ruud Gullit wasn’t “primarily” anything. He came up as a right back, then a center back, then a defensive mid, then a world class playmaking no. 10. when Van basten was injured, Ruud would play as a 9 on occasion and by the time he went to Chelsea, he was a sweeper.
      Gullit is the most versatile player I have ever seen play.

    • @oab1598
      @oab1598 4 месяца назад +1

      @@SKa-tt9nm That's not entirely accurate. Gullit started as a sweeper at Haarlem but transitioned to central midfield and gradually moved further forward, eventually playing as a No. 10 for Feyenoord. Crucially, during his peak years, he also played as a No. 10 at PSV. At Milan, Sampdoria, and with the Netherlands, he was predominantly used as a No. 10, either as an attacking midfielder or second striker. Although he was versatile enough to play in various positions depending on tactics, his primary role remained as a No. 10. When he moved to Chelsea, well past his peak, he reverted to sweeper, but that didn’t go so well, so he shifted back to midfield. Regardless, his primary position was as a No. 10.

    I don't think every team needs a holding six, and Fabinho wasn't one either. His ability to distribute the ball and initiate attacks made him the best passing CDM in Klopp's football. Slots ball is different, he needs a 3. ball-playing defender, not a six who just clears the ball and pass it to Szobo or Macca (such a player is Zubimendi, for example). Gravenberch is the perfect CDM for Liverpool and I don't think that Liverpool need Zubimendi, even if he would like to come on now.

    I don't agree with Klopp not looking out for Ryan. He never saw him as a 6. He saw him as an 8. Ryan came into Liverpool without game time and was rusty as he hardly played for Bayern. Injuries didn't help him at all. When he got the flow he immediately got the injured.
    Also let's not forget working under Klopp system without pre-season doesn't help at all. This year Ryan got perfect time with Arne. Heitega coming in as the assistant has really helped Ryan too as they both have worked during Ajax time. It was very obvious his defensive side lacked and it still does. But the way Slot is using Mac & Ryan they both are improving.

    Tchouaméni was NEVER coming, Real Madrid worked on that deal for over a year and Klopp and Liverpool tried to steal it in the days before it was announced because Klopp realized he needed a midfielder, believe Liverpool did not have contract with the player or agent before it. The player that Liverpool did miss out on was Bruno Guimarães, they thought they could come back for him in the summer and Newcastle swooped in January and stole him. Another midfielder that Klopp should had gone after is Camavinga of Real Madrid, he outplayed whole PSG midfield when he played against them, but only Real Madrid made an effort to sign him and got him real cheap for today’s prices of top end talent.

    I think its only astounding that so many experts couldn't see Gravs obvious ability and strengths. It seems almost blasphemous to say this, but Klopp being so rigid is how we play at full tilt actually stopped players like Grav, Jones, and MacAllister from becoming the players they could be. I know it isn't real but in footie manager last year i had paired grav and mac as the mid pair and had eith Szoboszlai or Elliott as my 10 and it worked like a dream, so happy to see Slot do it in reality

    • @SKa-tt9nm
      @SKa-tt9nm 4 месяца назад

      What are you taking about? The only thing that’s stopping jones are his injuries. Mac alister was the best Liverpool player from January to May this year, under klopp’s system. And Klopp is the guy who brought both Mac alister and gravenberch in, because he believed in them.
      Notice how Klopp wasn’t so rigid when he transformed TAA into a RB and started him at 20, when he started future star Connor Bradley at 20, turned firmino from a midfielder to a no. 9, turned winaldjum from a no 9 to a box to box midfielder, moved sadio from RW to LW, making space for Salah, etc.
      And this “most sought after” young talents needs to stop. Gravenberch’s reputation when he signed with lfc was anything but sparkling. He was viewed as a young player with lots of potential and very little to show for it. That’s why he was 1) available and 2) relatively cheap.
      It took gravenberch a year to settle in at lfc. Mystery solved, gentlemen.

    • @donuts7627
      @donuts7627 4 месяца назад

      @SKa-tt9nm Klopp's heavy metal football is the reason for both our success and failure, he ran players into the ground with that high octane football, it was go go go 3 times a week so players got injuries. My point is that playing that brand of football increases the likelihood of getting injured, and we rarely just controlled games. Also I think Klopp did want to convert Grav into a 6 and I think if he had turned him into the next Fabinho then that would have robbed him of his potential. I think Slot's more measured approach will allow these players to shine because he is moulding both them and the system to match their strengths. Don't think that I'm having a go at Klopp,I love the man and everything he did but I think he had some blind spots tactically and his desire to play every game like it was your last was passionate and great to watch , there were times were I just wanted the lads to put their foot on the ball and think about the next pass instead of constantly pushing for the next moment.

    I'm happy that Ryan is coming good for us, but we have a real problem at LFC. In addition to our present contract issues with TAA, VVD and Mo Salah, we need to be talking to a first team left back now! Mark my words, if Andy goes down for any length of time, we will be exposed by many of the talented right wingers we'll be facing this season. Tsimikas, Beck and Chambers are not the answer to this big potential problem. That's another overlooked truth.
