  • In this video I show my old ladder style chains, and remove them for the installation on my new diamond chains. I show the Grizzlar’s ATV Diamond Studded Style Chains. Diamond style chain for excellent traction, much more contact of the chain with the road than with ladder style chains. - Studded links for superb traction. - Especially suitable for tires with very aggressive tread. - Easy installation. - Tensioner included in package.
I do an unpacking showing all of the components, discuss the differences between ladder and diamond chains, as well as a demonstration of installation.
Also shown are the security chain company medium tensioners and their benefit and installation.
Below are the chains and tensioners in this video, these are the direct links on amazon to purchase these items. If purchased we may receive a small commission at no additional cost to you.

Thanks for the video, one good thing about those cheap rubber tensioners is that you can use them with just three of the clips if you break one.

Tire off machine , some air out, chains on, inflate tire. Now they have no slack. The best way to do this.

Good technique, if a guy wants to remove the wheel or tire. For me seems like too much work. Thanks for your comment and for watching. Please like and subscribe if you enjoy our content.

I've had the metal chain tensioners unhook before. Now,after I get everything tight,I put heavy-duty zip ties on them. No more coming loose.

I have used zip ties as well in the past, always a good backup. Thanks for watching and for your comment! Please subscribe if you enjoy our content.

Interesting. Looks like a very effective chain for maximum traction. Also, liked Murphy's comments.

I could've used these trying to get through some snow pack in the mountains of Montana today (in July, lol).

That fancy shaped connecting plate on the side chains is actually a cam tension-er. So you should be threading it through a link and levering it back on itself, then hooking it to hold. Hope that helps some. Thanks for the video.

They look like good tire chains but it’s kind of sad that you can get those chains for a full size pickup tire for less than a smaller Ute tire. Nice job on the video by the way. 👍

These are not more expensive than tire chains. I had to buy for my truck that’s for sure. Everything’s gotten expensive these days unfortunately. Thanks for your comment and for watching our content please like and subscribe if you enjoy our content. Thank you.

In the German Alps we use „net chains“ or „Supergreifsteg“ and thats the best Tire chains. Very good grip, easy to put on and very tough. This chains need not so much tension because they should lay down on the ground before the tire does. The only bad thing is the price. A pair of chains for a tractor etc. starts 1k.

Wow, thanks so much for watching from Bavaria! My family lineage comes from the Rhineland. Yeah, these are affordable option for UT or ATVs that keeps constant traction, no matter where the wheel is during its rotation. Thanks for your comment, please subscribe if you enjoy our content.

I find it interesting that so many people misunderstand the benefit of ladder chains. Ladder chains at defiantly superior when maximum traction is needed.

@@LifeintheNorth40 your old ladder chains are four link ladder chains, there are 2 link ladder style chains which have a extra cross link between each of your 4 link style.

I deflate the tires and put chains on snug and then put air back in to desired pressure. That way your chains never slip on tire.

Replace the inside screw pin shackle with a quick link. The shackle on my chains (Piedmont Chain ATVDS2) strike the stabilizer bar when the vehicle is lifted and barely clear when on the ground.

You might need wheel spacers to move your tiers out so that you have the clearance.
