JENKEM - Matt Tomasello in "Rodney Mullen on Bath Salts: Round Three"
HTML-код
- Опубликовано: 15 сен 2019
- When we first compared Matt Tomasello to some kind of drugged up version of Rodney Mullen, it was meant to be somewhat a joke, since bath salts probably don’t improve your skating (except in rare instances).
But now, a year and two videos later, we still haven’t found a better way to describe Matt’s skating, but maybe it’s because there isn’t a better description.
Matt’s skating, with all his folding and unfolding board contraptions, no handed pogos, and sideways grinds, slides, and flips, feels like just that. You even have to rewind it or watch it in slo-mo just to comprehend most of his clips.
So for the final(?) installment of Matt’s trilogy, we’re sticking with comparing him to Rodney on bath salts. Enjoy it if you can, or click back to a simpler time when Todd Falcon was the most technically advanced skater out there. Приколы
I could see this part airing on adult swim at like 3 in the morning foir some reason
I'm pretty sure Fancy Lad did have a thing on a adult swim one time
Dude all gone af lol
You're thinking of the show called Off The Air. And its amazing. Turner and Adult Swim created it to fill time slots.
Bc this dude got us trippppin. His board control is on some tweaker shit wow
watch?v=409xTk1kD1c
When was the last time you watched a skate vid and saw 30 new tricks? Holy smokes, dude.
For real. As someone who doesn't skate but admires tf out of it I'm sitting here asking myself wtf I just saw. Kids unbelievable
never lol
Wtt he died?
Well, few were skateboard tricks.
Most were 'whatever the hell he calls those constructions' tricks.
Not saying that the amount of skill and creativity shown in this video would not make Mullen cry with joy.
@@Diogenes2077 To be fair, Mullen probably cries with joy more often than most.
And that's why we love him.
The precision. The balance. The control. It's like the board is a literal extension of his body. This kid's insane.
That power slide up the steps looks terrifying
I had to rewatch it 6-8 times to clearly see how it happened.
I think the flip tricks with the board with ice skate blades on the bottom has more chance for serious injury.
Not too scary to me but friggin hard, it doesn't even make sense.
The op misspelled fucking bad ass
@hottie nanako made my ankles hurt watching it 😬
This dude is gonna be the first skater sponsored by Lowes or Home Depot
Good one.
This really deserves more likes. That's actually pretty funny man 😂
lol yes!

Eddy Maldo fat rip
why cannot you do both?
@@thefunframe7912 That's the joke bud, this video demonstrates that doing both is possible.
I’m doing both I’m going to start learning how to skate and I’m going for civil engineering but I digress🤷🏾♂️
@@thesharinganknight9859 congrats bro! I wish you success!
They should add this guy as a secret character in the new Tony hawk's game
I would want that so bad, imagine that every trick he does is not the norm.

This guy was told he could be anything in life. So he learned how to do origami with wood using his feet and professionalized it
Fucking hilarious!!!!!
It's a life worth living.
Such an amazing comment
This guy's tricks are so creative he had to invent a new skateboard just to show case them.
a?
He has like 18 different boards in this video alone fym "a board"
I seen at least 4 different skate board contraptions
Believe it or not, majority of these custom tricks have been done. It's interesting but not the first time I've seen these.
Why was this not a thing now? skateboarding would never bd the same again this is so cool
3:32 is one of the best skateboarding tricks I've ever seen.
Agreed. Thanks to slow-mo I can totally see how it works but still don't know how it works.
I'm 38 and grew up skateboarding from the mid 80's on. I remember talking about what if situations. Like,.... Wouldn't it be cool if you could do this and you could do that.
This video is proof that you truly are limited only by your imagination.
his board: Optimus Grind

Noooooo 😂😂😂
“Autoboards roll out” makes more sense than original tbh

By far best comment.
Watched this on my smoke break. Got awed and forgot to smoke. Still satisfied.
Your comment!
He’s like throwing himself Alley-oops
This guy's changing technical skating the same way Rodney changed all of skating.
No.
Come on, bruh.
As close as possible
I don't think he's gonna change skating anywhere near what Mullen did, honestly probably little to none. Not because he's any less innovative, but because most skaters aren't gonna try to recreate these contraptions, and it just won't fit in a competition because he'd have to change boards a bunch of times (which would break up the flow), or be stuck doing the same few tricks over and over.
As impressive as it is, it's gonna remain more of a novelty than anything. I'd love to see him featured at something like the X Games or Nitro Circus, but he's way too far in his own lane to become a mainstream thing.
"A hippie jump cant also be a ghostrider 50-50"
Matt - "Hold my doorhinges"
Hold my door hinges?! LMAO
Such an absolutely innovative young man. no matter how shitty I am I go back and watch these videos and feel like a baby with the proverbial rattle in the hand for the first time.
He’s just got the most insane board control, awareness, timing and balance. I’m friggin speechless
The massive pop shove it one foot catch thing was just nuts.
this is gonna be patched out, clearly a physics exploit
Super underrated comment lol
Ah, the THPS 2 days...
God gotta fix this, too OP... lmao
/r/outside
Yeah, it is mind-boggling. I don't care if this took years to film and he can never do any of the tricks again with any consistency...this was absolutely insane stuff. I said the 'years to film' part because I can't even begin to guess how many times he must have attempted a lot of these tricks. Most of the tricks probably came after hundreds of attempts. But then again, I'm sure some came very quickly and even as a surprise. I think the most impressive part of this video is when you think about how creative the dude's brain must be to even come up with these tricks. hahhaa Dude definitely has a talent. Definitely inspired by Sir Mullen.
There were literally zero clips in this that I had even somewhat of a remote idea of what might happen next...
including the replays.
Haha yeah. I was still Blown away 3rd 4th time watching
Best comment
ive watched every matt tomasello video upwards of 20 times and every time im blown away. i really cant even imagine the time and effort that he puts into his work. he manufactures his own inventions to accomplish tricks that i can barely comprehend. start to finish its meticulous and masterful
the music goes very well with all the slow-mo shots. i could watch this for hours on end
Very true
I’m blown away by the creativity and to call this skateboarding does not do it justice.
This is art 👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽
I had a thought of Precision Sport?... Renaming it from Extreme Sport.... I mean its so precise we often forget that we've programmed our minds subconsciously to a carriage under our feet.
That's mad enough... Lol then to manipulate it through physics is very Precise... Not Extreme ahah
xxgoiksxx I thought the same exact thing , this isn’t just filmed skateboard tricks to a mainstream song , this is an art film , very talented masterpiece
for sure.and the guy in this comment saying about precision is dead on too.precision abstract stunt art
I'm amazed by the precision to pull these tricks off, but i'm even more amazed that he visualized these tricks in his mind before.

Pro skaters: "you cant just do a one foot nose blunt for the entire curb"
Matt: "hold my foot"
Pro Skaters: "you can't do a heelflip and a kickflip at the same time"
Matt: "Hold my other door hinge"
Idk if I'm more impressed by his talent, his creativity, or the wild boards he builds
This is probably the most unique that skateboarding will get.

After basically every trick I would go back and watch it again in an attempt to understand what just happened. Absolutely spectacular. So out of the box you’re onto different shapes. This is what the internet was made for
proof that theres no real “way” to skateboard its all about creativity
That is the sickest skate video ever! My brain can't even comprehend some of those tricks. Love the segmented deck tricks.
Un-fkn-believable!
Im late but yeah it’s an old video yet feels fresh and new, need more creativity like this in skating today
I watched this video before I took a drug test last week and I failed
Shit it is dope
The dope levels were too high my boy

This is how i thought people did kickflips when i was really little
Everything about this is epic. On top of the creative skateboarding I love the dust particle shots in the sunlight out of no where setting the slow mo vibes to sit with the music nicely and even the gritty skateboard sounds and raw phootage not being trimmed. Just awesome 👌
On another level of impressiveness, this guy is visualizing these moves beforehand. Concept to completion.
I apologize for not knowing who this guy is. This is the best skating I've ever seen.
Tremendous.

If you watch closely (and even clearer at slower speeds) you can see two strings attached keeping the front trucks on.
I love the creativity here. I do't think I ever seen so much in one video. The number of views speak for itself, great work!
Someone should make a video: "Rodney Mullen reacts to Matt Tomasello".

But what about the beavers, man? 🤔

At 1:57 my mind is blown. He bounced that board like a dam basketball.
Some of these are so good, and somewhat unbelievable. Rewind and watch again tricks, as if seeing them the first time in slow motion wasn’t enough to absorb how the trick comes together...they show a great combination of skill, coordination, engineering and planning.
This is some next level shit. The innovation is amazing and shows there are still some amazing street skaters. The way this was filmed, edited and paired with that music track was perfection. And a fuck yeah to the guy that said adult swim at 3am. Exactly that.
Matthew Littlejohn ur gay lol 😃😸😃😸

And today in the news: "Skateboarder under investigation, suspected of breaking the laws of physics"
To be fair, physics is all fucked up lol
this s the most impressive skate video i've ever seen. and i've been skating for 26 years. Do you understand how difficult it is to come up with a new trick lol. This dude is all new tricks every trick. The creativity and technicality here alone is incredible and the execution of these tricks is absolutely flawless. Can't wait to see more. ❤
That was incredibly impressive. I street skated in the early 90s and had one of the smoothest ollies around and I couldn’t even conceive of a lot of these tricks. Incredibly creative and interesting. Some of the more conventional tricks with the non-modified board are similar to things that I dreamed of but could never get to, but they generally go beyond even my wildest fantasies. Really cool stuff! 👍🏻
I love how this has such a 1995 feel.
It looks like the Boards of Canada sound. Even the song in the video sounds like them
This would have been Beyond epic in the 90's....
Except ur 24 and don't remember 1995 cuz u were just born.
straight up theres something about this that really seems like a defined chapter in skating. but also i just now found this dude from a random suggestion so what do i know

Very creative, this kinda stuff rekindles the fiery passion I once had for skateboarding.
I feel sad at the same time, because I could’ve been high amateur, possibly pro, but times and people change, I slowly lost my friends and will to shred, skateboarding was a better part of my life, a time when life was easy hardly any worry’s, I started skating when I was 14, and stopped when I was 23, I’m 29 now.
If I ever have any children one day, skating will live on through them. I would love to pass on everything I’ve learned. SKATE OR DIE, never let it die.
This is the stuff i watch when im being struck by panic or anxiety. Thank you for this.
My brain just melted and poured out of my ear holes.
