He seem to like the first song I played, but then I played this one for him, and he begged me to turn the volume all the way up, as he couldn’t figure out how to do it I guess? It was an evening I shared with the sun
To find out where we belong
    From the earliest days
We were dancing in the shadows
    More wine
'Cause I got to have it
    More skin
'Cause I got to eat it
    Inside the outside
    By the river
    Used to be so calm
    Used to be so sane
    I rushed the lady's room
Took the water from the toilet
Washed her feet and blessed her name
    More peace
    Is such a dirty habit
    Slow down
    We're too afraid
    Let me ride
    Burn my eyes
    Let me ride
It was an evening I shared with the sun

ATTN VIDEO EXPLAINED: from the director, Gavin Bowden
"the room where the man who watches over the lard is stationed.. to me, the lard represented very basic human sexual desires, totally powerful desires and passions, the sexual human animal…But these are not passions that can exist all the time because they will destroy you. And, if you boiled down a human, you would get this white, viscous thing, but because that thing can’t exist, it is stored away by the curator of the lard. The people in the video have to go to him to get the lard so they can go through their physical
passions. They have to get in line and take a number. The lard man is not necessarily our friend."
(In reference to the pool)" I liked the idea of them standing on top of
this kidney, this basic human organ that filters out our urine and waste and
then, underneath it, is a swimming pool which has been used in so many corny
R&B videos where people are having sex in pools. I’ve never done that, I don’t
know who has. It’s sort of absurd that they find this swimming pool and it’s
empty, which sort of speaks for itself. By the time these people find that
moment where they can exist freely with their passions, maybe it’s too late, the pool is empty. It’s pretty hopeless and sad, but they still get in because
    of their animal nature.”
Also note that: Lakini is the Hindu goddess of destruction. She is the energy radiating from the 3rd chakra sometimes depicted maddened with passion, her chest covered in human grease and blood dripping from chunks of flesh in her hands.
    The 90's kicked ass ;)

These guys were easily one of the best bands of the 90's...really underrated if anything. Every album was a masterpiece...every song amazing. 'Throwing Copper' was their best album, however, 'Secret Samadhi' was almost as good, and yet it didn't get the same respect. By then the media hype, and music press weren't as hot on the band as they had been just a few years earlier...which is a shame, as Live continued to produce great albums. I bought 'Secret Samadhi' in 1997 when it came out, and love it as much today as then. This track 'Lakini's Juice' remains one of my alltime fav Live tracks...incredibly powerful song. Incredibly powerful band.

  • @JimboJones99

Mental Jewelry - Pure uninterrupted spiritual musical talent from 4 young kids in York, Pennsylvania. Unpolished, but full of soul, it was the start of something big for the 90's.
Throwing Copper - A gift from the Heavens (Higher spiritual realms) brought through the 4 human vessels of +Live+. This album was a direct gift for humanity with 'Lightning Crashes' being the pinnacle telling the story of re-incarnation as the cycle continues with no end. This album as a whole was a masterpiece brought from the higher spiritual realms. One of the best albums ever produced... EVER.
Secret Samadhi - A dark album, with a dark theme. This album was a rebuttal to 'Throwing Copper' and is not really of the 'Light' as the previous 2 albums were. I believe there were some external forces of a 'dark' nature that influenced this album. Nevertheless it's still a GREAT album and actually the most COMPLETE +Live+ album to date from start to finish. Every song just fits perfectly in a complete package. The production on this album was one of their best, with everything from Drums to guitar so crisp and clean.
The Distance To Here - Out of the darkness of 'Secret Samadhi' into the pure LIGHT of 'Distance to Here'. This album is of pure light, with every song having some spiritual meaning returning back to Source, Creator, God, Light, Love. One of the best songs on this album, "We walk in the dream" is actually one of the most underrated but sends the pure message that there is something more to this Human existence we live in (hinting to the spiritual realms). This album completes +Live's+ 90's dominance with such depth and meaning.
After the 90's the band +Live+ did lose their way in their songwriting/producing abilities but their time was definitely the 90's. It was their time, and people listened.

Such a resounding mood this song set for us in a sparkling, bursting age of music to rival them all... This one is remembered only by few in this big world. And that's a shame. For it is undeniable and gloriously niche in it's originality. And it's edge, a shockwave, felt like a blast to the chest. While it's bridge remains sanctimoniously potent; like the purest perplexity, injected into the serenity of the goldest autumn morning. May this song never be forgotten throughout history.

To me this song goes deeper when it comes to meaning, sex is like everything else in life if you have too much of it or take it to the extreme it'll destroy you quicker. One of the reasons why balance is so important and why it's always wise to do things in moderation because if you do too much of everything it'll end up like the lard. But that's just my opinion. One of the reasons why I missed this kind of music, especially the songs that has a bold message.

Have loved this song since it came out, and I still have no idea what the lyrics mean. Need to look into that. But the music itself: difficult to tell on this video because the sound quality isn't the best, but if you get a good CD or HD-quality copy and slap on some headphones, close your eyes and just listen, it's amazing. Each part builds on the previous one with a different instrument or something added to increase the intensity all the way till the last guitar phrasing he plays twice at the end. Love that.

I bought Throwing Copper on the strength of a TV ad many years ago now, I'm glad my introduction to Live was such a pleasurable experience, then Secret Samadhi came along with this little gem. I just loved this song. Ed's magnificent soaring vocal just unleashed something within me, it was pure and cathartic. Great song and a great under-rated band..

To this day I still haven’t heard a song like this. Nothing else makes me think of this song or the feelings it brings out

Holy Frick... Killer, Heavy, THICK TONE. Love that Bass drive. Hollow guitar sound. Spine tingling. Opening Riff... O M G. Ed's Haunting Vox. Great Snare drum...
Bold Video imagery... Very deep... Bravo Gentleman. 👏
