even with all the awards, world wide fame and laterally Throwing Copper was considered THE #1 album of the 1990's by MTV's kurt loader narrated best albums of the 90's series, beating Nirvana, REM and many other notables. With 3 years after its release it was still on the billboard 200 albums list. There is nothing under rated about LIVE. They played #1 hits on SNL and toured the world for over 6 years. They have numerous sound track and movie credits and video's like Dolphins Cry, Lighten Crashes will for ever be etched in the hearts of millions of the now grown up 90's generation.

Washed her feet and blessed her name

It was an evening I shared with the sun
To find out where we belong
    From the earliest days
We were dancing in the shadows
    More wine
Because I got to have it
    More skin
Cuz I got to eat it
Inside the outside, by the river, used to be so calm
    Used to be so sane
    I rushed the lady's room
Took the water from the toilet
Washed her feet and blessed her name
    More peace
    Is such a dirty habit
    Slow down, we're too afraid
    Let me ride

    Let me ride

My favorite Live song. I was a weekend DJ at WCCC in Hartford, CT when this came out and I remember we had an early copy of the song. It was on a little DAT cassette and they hooked a DAT player to the soundboard so we could play it. I remember the first time hearing it was when I played it live on the air. The riff pulled me in instantly. Bad-Ass riff indeed.

Ed kind of reminds me of Maynard James Keenan. They both have those kind of one of a kind voice that can honestly sing anything. And their lyrics are so cryptic sometimes. The musics different but the versatility and range are right there!

    • @andrewlockett5125
      @andrewlockett5125 8 лет назад +5

Jay Deleon except that Keenan's work has remained consistently good right the way through, whereas with Ed, Live went rapidly downhill after Secret Samadhi. The writing and music lost all of its balls and punch, favouring blandness and banality. Imagine how it could have been?

These guys were easily one of the best bands of the 90's...really underrated if anything. Every album was a masterpiece...every song amazing. 'Throwing Copper' was their best album, however, 'Secret Samadhi' was almost as good, and yet it didn't get the same respect. By then the media hype, and music press weren't as hot on the band as they had been just a few years earlier...which is a shame, as Live continued to produce great albums. I bought 'Secret Samadhi' in 1997 when it came out, and love it as much today as then. This track 'Lakini's Juice' remains one of my alltime fav Live tracks...incredibly powerful song.
