I saw these guys live in early 1996 at the Australia big day out festival. I don’t expect I’ll ever see such young kids with such a massive sound and stage presence to match it - EVER AGAIN.
I was amazed that they were 15 years old and in high school when they did this. They still stayed grounded and kept going to school (scheduled around their touring and recording) and the school worked with them. Just amazing!!

One of the most underrated snd super talented bands of all time! I will never understand why they weren't taken more seriously! Just because they were do young. They were still more talented than most bands their elder! The singer had a voice beyond his age and the whole band had talent beyond their elders! Totally miss these guys,!

Whatever, my 15 y/o daughter can play 12 string acoustic like the goddamn devil, my father is teaching her beautifully!
When this song came out, we were teenagers and thought it was crap. Thought everything on MTV was crap. 20 years later this sounds pretty good and I'd love to have 90s MTV back. Every band sounds like someone if you listen to enough music.
2024 and this sounds better than anything coming out today. This song and era bring back so many memories. The nineties were just different and I'm so glad I was able to experience real music.
So I grew up in the 80's listening to what has been called hair metal and rock. Bands such as Motley and Whitesnake. This song kicked my ass when I first heard in the 90's and still does. The passion in the voice combined with the mix of the song is amazing. The drummer as a great style and feel when he plays as well. Well done boys.

The sweat sticking to my skin at the beach. Rollercoasters, zoos, pretty girls, and my parents still together. Capri Sun commercials and this on the radio in the car. Oh how I miss the late 90s... Nothing else slaps quite like this does. It's a love-letter that starts off being humble and gestureful, then becomes bitter with resentment because of the lack of wealth or respect. It's absolutely genius, and to be done by an 12-13 year old (he wrote it with Innocent Criminals) is just absurd.
I had "frog stomp" on cassette & about wore it out in my old cassette deck, blasting it outta my rear speakers... driving around my 1st car a 70 mustang. Still love their music! Great days of grunge!
My first car was a 83 Celica GT and my second car was a 1992 Pontiac Sunbird with a 5-speed my third car was a 85 Mustang 5.0 GT convertible for the 4-barrel carburetor and choke. God those were the days

In morroco listening to these boys so good...90s music best ever time
yayaya
Cheers from Taiwan
One of the most underrated bands ever imo These guys were 15 when they made Frogstomp and it rocks from start to finish. Daniel Johns is a great vocalist from that time and the songs were good. Not bad for three fifteen year olds they recorded their debut album Frogstomp on their Christmas break from high school!!! 🤘🏻🙃🤘🏻
I agree love them 😅❤
Never gets old. Excellent message. May all drinking water be clean for all.
Haha
I still wonder who the pig is ? " Kill the piggie " from Lord of the Flies ? or some dictator ?
Gosh I am old, I remember Lord of the flies.... LOL ?
@@jleffel6969the joke flew right over your head buddy
I feel like we can appreciate older music even more now that today's music is trash. The music actually had meaning to it. This song is still gold 🔥🎵
ask your Mum how much she liked it, and say hello to her too

U gotta hear this :) !!!
Shan... baby girl... no creepy... just like trying to respond....... older music was born from way different struggles and cultural shifts. I love both generations
@@gabe1146 Let's be honest about it, most music is shit today

Seek help for that delusion lol.
I had to have seen this video 1000 times when it was playing on MTV.
This is so good but you must hear "The Wave" or "Whispering Wolf" by SLT 🤘🎧🐺
Ahhh the memories. I was 13 when this came out living in Indiana. It was our anthem for several years. Still love Silverchair 🤟🤟❤
Oh my gosh, me too! 13yo, in Indiana! How crazy.
One of the best sounding bands of the 90's. I just wish Daniel Johns would go back to the raw rocky grungy sound they had back then. Daniel, if you're out there reading this, please grab your guitar. We miss you, lad!
Was also said he will never return ever to silverchair! He's a funny lad got some issues and one being he can't do the same project over and over he likes new fresh things :)
@@buck71164 But his “New,fresh thing” DREAMZ is freaking awful, just sad and lost, hanging out with a complete tool!!! I mean who the hell calls their band DREAMZ?!?!?!🙄🤯😢
Agree
@@buck71164 Yeah I imagine bringing back silverchair would bring him back the attention he always hated
Frogstomp was one of the best albums of the 90’s, every song was amazing!!
I miss the 90s .. music...58 yrs old.. Still rockin never stop listening to it. Brings back good memories.
2020 with this great song

I remember the first time I heard this song on 120 Minutes. Silverchair had been a part of my life since then!!!
37 now and my love for this band will never die!!!!!!
that's where I heard it, too :). 39
We are LEGENDS just like this band!!!
I saw these guys live in early 1996 at the Australia big day out festival. I don’t expect I’ll ever see such young kids with such a massive sound and stage presence to match it - EVER AGAIN.
Yep 👍
I'm trying to think of something relative maybe when Faith no More was new
Or Alice in chains released dirt
They didnt play BDO '96
@@Spedly well it was around about then. My memory’s not that good sorry.
I was amazed that they were 15 years old and in high school when they did this. They still stayed grounded and kept going to school (scheduled around their touring and recording) and the school worked with them. Just amazing!!
one of the most underrated bands of the time.
Oh stfu....one hit wonder, thats all they were.
i played this none stop for a week , im 49 and still brings shivers down my spine when i hear this song, such memories
I Listen to this song today very often got lot of Memory
I’m a lot younger than you and I remember this song from my school day. I loved these guys. Grunge was the best! I was 11 listening to nirvana and tool in Russia! Today they listen to Kardi B and gay rap. Times have definitely changed!
I'll be 47 next month. Me too on the shivers.

U gotta hear this :) !!!
I'm 64, and the song beats the shit outta the crap that serves as "music" these days!
Had the privy of seeing these blokes live, mosh pit included at Coffs Harbour. Cannot replicate those memories. Thanks You Silverchair for memories I’ll forever cherish. “Those were the days”.

NEVER...GETS...OLD!!!! I love that crescendo at 1:30!!
Still relevant. Easily my most listened to song of current years. Epic.
Can I throw out a nomination I'd say best song in the world that's not well known?
Most underrated band of the 90s and my first mosh pit at 12 years old. What a time to be alive!
I bought this CD. The water out the tap is very hard to drink!
I can not help but think that this is undervalued
Early 90’s grunge was awesome and these guys so young and sounded awesome!!!
My favorite of the 'grunge bands'...
I still have my original frog stomp album on cd that I bought in 2000. I bought my Chevy s10 that same year. Still got the truck, still got the cd. Still rocking both 24 years later. Would give anything to go back to those times
The grunge will never be forgotten!❤️
I was 16 when this came out!
Daniel Johnson is the same age as me.
I couldn't believe a bunch of teenagers could be so good and get so big post grunge scene.
I was jealous tbh!!
@@scottmcmillan5003 I hear you mate. I was 15. Pretty incredible what these guys came up with.
haha el granch

¡NUNCA! El grunge es simplemente ETERNO. ¡Que vivan los 90's! 🍷
The Silverchair in me just brought me back here. Great song. Great band.
Slay those vocals.
Speaks volumes about the hugest current issues
Please elaborate.
Ok well they were talking about greed. Water is getting cleared up, drinking water
Into my 50’s now and still loving this from the UK, went to Australia in 97 and these were big back then, listening takes me straight back there - good times 🙌🏻❤️
Yup just got the chills again. I remember getting this album at 16 and thought wow this music is timeless and it is because now I’m 45 and the Shit still gets to me.
such an incredible song

this song will go down in the top 100 rock songs ever made.
One of the most underrated snd super talented bands of all time! I will never understand why they weren't taken more seriously! Just because they were do young. They were still more talented than most bands their elder! The singer had a voice beyond his age and the whole band had talent beyond their elders! Totally miss these guys,!
I was dessssperately in love with these guys when i was 12 lmao. Almost dropped piano to learn bass bc of these boys, but my mother wouldn't let me, despite my dad and my endless pleading. Whatever, my 15 y/o daughter can play 12 string acoustic like the goddamn devil, my father is teaching her beautifully!
The golden age of cassette tapes, walkmans, and MTV.
Good ol' days
True that!
sort of a cool down :)
And porn mags!
Amen, to that
When this song came out, we were teenagers and thought it was crap. Thought everything on MTV was crap. 20 years later this sounds pretty good and I'd love to have 90s MTV back. Every band sounds like someone if you listen to enough music.
Jesus right!! At that time I loved the stuff that came before but now I'd love to see MTV and music like this made again.
I always thought this was by pearl jam
Staying up for Headbangers ball the best was when Alice in chains was new
2024 and this sounds better than anything coming out today. This song and era bring back so many memories. The nineties were just different and I'm so glad I was able to experience real music.
underrated. Crazy drums
Hi, good day kids of the 90's ❤️☘️
Much better days back then!!!
Well done boys.
used to cover this when we were what, 12-13 years old, in 6th grade in 1996 with my classmates band, cut classes, and get inside the music room through the broken windows just to jam, what pure joyful moments ,we looked up on these guys....
We’re a new Aussie Grunge/Alt Rock band, check out our new demo on our channel!
awesome memory, love it! i was 18yrs old in 1990, and was playing for 5yrs or so by then so jammed these guys, Alice in chain and pearl jam, etc and a lot of metal etc...soo want to jam with people again!!
Relembrando minha infância / adolescência. Que tempos maravilhosos! É minha música preferida do Silverchair.
and here we all are in 2023...fucking legends
I still love silverchair after God knows how many decades. Awesome band
😊
59 and srill loving this song! 🎉❤
Silverchair has been one of my main stables of music I have always ran to in my life. This song in particular I can remember exactly where I was at when I seen it for the first time! I was young and it just imprinted itself permanently. Especially since they were all youngsters when they started. We've been able to grow up together and that's priceless ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤ Thank you all for always being there!
Im from Spain and i LOVE this band, they were one of the BEST bands during 90s
I dig that song so much, It gives me goosebumps every time I listen to it
Hell yeah it does buddy🤟🏻
That pre-chorus riff with the palm-muting on the guitars is probably one of the heaviest riffs in rock in the 90s.
Good as any Alice in chains.
No doubt, this is one of the most powerful tunes and guitar sounds of the 90's.
Outshined. Enough said.
