Have you ever dated an American man or a Czech man? Do you agree with Radka or do you think she just found a very special guy?
Well, as a Czech woman, I *do* occasionally wear only underwear at home, but only when everyone else is out for the day. On the other hand, my mum does it all the time (with the exception of the days she's expecting visitors) 🤷🏻♀️
Do men's boxers count as underwear for ladies, @merryn96? I think a lot of girls wear comfy shorts but usually not when company arrives.
@@DreamPrague I'm not sure how other ladies view them, but for me they're just comfy shorts 😁 or a last resort swimming bottom 🩳😅 but yeah, I'd say they count as underwear when guys wear them 👍🏻 in addition to the uses listed above 😁

I do that a lot, too. I do it even when family members are home :D a normal t-shirt and panties.. I would say it's mostly about how comfortable you feel in your home..

@@DreamPrague Hi, Jen! Thanks ahead for you take on guys dating Czech girls. More and more of them are moving here to Malmö in recent 3 years. I got two ladies working next to me. And one just bought house next door. There a LOT of questions! Especially since guys know that I know Czech, so they ask me - what’s normal? But I don’t know! I have some knowledge of Czech economy, history and other things one can learn in school and books, but I have no idea what’s “normal” in relationships. Basically there are quite many people here on counting on you to provide some type of “baseline”/normality/point of reference. I understand that all is individual, but what is more common?
1. Household economy: Do Czechs normally have like Scandinavians and Dutch that there is a “pot” where you throw in some money together for household needs and the rest is free to use as individual on separate bank accounts? If not than how?
2. Christmas: is Christmas for the whole family? Are all children from guy/girl allowed? Or does one have to exclude kids from the other marriages and their new parents?
3. Christening of children? I do not (!) mean like going to church normally or any organized participation in religion normally, just that - just the christening. I have been told that many Czech girls don’t wanna do it in church. Is that true? But if you are young family if not for any other reason how could one afford to miss out on all the presents/envelopes from older relatives? What do they do? Some civil name giving ceremony in city house? Are there any arguments how they can be convinced? Like how hard is this resistance?
4. Is it normal that a girl does also a guy’s laundry? Especially underwear?
5. Why is there such high expectation from a girl to a guy to be electrician/carpenter/plumber ? And if you do that type of stuff yourself does insurance company in Czech Republic cover accident if you did the work - not a professional?
6. From my experience Czech guys are about the same as us when playing football or other injury inducing stuff. Are guys somehow expected to act differently when with girls and put on a macho act? Or is it like in Japan in this particular aspect that a guy has to “save his face” and never show that he is in pain? Same goes for jumping into icy water or other uncomfortable/painful things. Or are simply Czech expect Scandinavian guys to be different because we are of Viking descent?
7. At the same time that there is a lot of talk/expectation to be a Viking several Czech girls I talked to have no clue about our Family Gods. But not just our Family Gods but also THEIR! How usual is it that Czech girls don’t know Perun, Radegast, Yarilo? (Many of them corresponded to our Gods so knowing Czech Gods really helps). Is there something they have, they wear that keeps them in touch with Family Gods? Like Thors hammer together with cross Or instead of cross on the neck? Or tattoo? Or bracelet? Even if it would be uncommon, does it exist at all? (Just as point of reference). Do they have some national celebrations devoted to Family Gods and/or ancient traditions that stem from them, like say midsummer in Scandinavia?
@jammmy30 omg I love your list and i would love to answer that, the problem is a difference in age. I have no clue how much czech women/girls changed in past 20 years.
@@terezaclark9587 Well since the age group we are talking about is from about 24 to nearly 40 I am sure that a lot of your stuff would be still good as a point of reference. And you can also tell which age groups that you talk about ( roughly ) correspond

Again stereotypes 😋 I have American husband and he never wears pants at home and mind we live in the Midwest. It's either shorts or now during the heat wave just T-shirt and sometimes not even that, only a bday suit 😀
You are totally right, @mk6022! We definitely simplified things but mainly discussed our experiences rather than trying to make a point of anything. 😅

Absolutely, @thespalek1! It's nearly impossible to say one or the other. It's hard comparing cultures, we are just sharing experiences. 🌞

Otázka je, co dáma míní těmi kalhotami. Chodit celodenně v běžných kalhotách je nezdravé pro - hm - pánské nádobíčko, především pro žlázy. Pokud její partner ovšem nosí nějaké volné domácí kalhoty, víceméně tepláky, proč ne.

I m czech with american husband living in SoCal :-) ... I agree with her. American men are gentlemen and I would say totally different level than czech guys .

Ti Amíci doma dosí tepláky nebo džíny či jaké kalhoty? Nesouvisí to s tím, že doma chodí i v botách blééé.
Amíci mají boty v ložnici...to je jejich privátní místo, kde se převlečou a vždy se v podstatě převlečou do obýváku stejně jako by šli kamkoli jinam ven. Proto ten děs že češi doma chodí v trenýrkách, případně v ošoupanejch teplákách a oblíkaj se teprv až když skutečně ven jdou. S tím souvisí i trend více koupelen, protože americkej dům má koupelnu většinou přímo připojenou k pokoji a ne na chodbu. V podstatě je to jenom posunutej koncept, kdy u nich je jejich pokoj vnímanej stejně jako my vnímáme byt...a zbytek je venek.

If she doesn't have to say anything about the household, then he's either submissive and will do everything rather than listen to her, or she's so incompetent that he'll do it himself rather than watch her do it wrong. My guess is that she is kinda Karen. I can smell it 😜 But I don't know her, judging by her eye movements, the body language and the way she talks.
We call the guys like the one she is married to simps.
@@mari.be.86oh! Thanks! I think I have found a person who will be able to give me some answers to some questions. How normal/common it is for Czech girls to wash her guys underwear? (I mean in a washing machine) How common is it that the girl expects a guy to be a bit of a carpenter plumber and an electrician? And if yes - why? Are handymen in Czech Republic (compared to average salary) very expensive?

May I sugget changing the name of this short to "Dating AN American men" as this is obviously one sample size opinion. :D
Comparing nationalities makes sense only when you have two very different cultures (like China/Japan vs USA/Britan). Personally Miss Radka has very unplesant personality for my taste. Most of what she said cannot be contributed to one or the other nationalities. Except maybe Feminism, but this goes hand in hand with getting offended on others behalf and being generally more entitled due to the position of their "superpower" country of origin.
As far as house keeping this is highly dependent on the ability of the two people to figure a common ground. If the guy is paying the rent, The food, the car, and so on, than I find it fair to expect that the wife will be indeed a house keeper / maker as it was in the age of gentleman as Miss Radka is complaining about. If however both make the same and everything is split than chores shall be split as well.
And as far as pants go .... F*ck pants .... who needs them anyway :P. (PS: Czech Women I had the pleasure to date did/do walk around nekkid, sometimes completely, Ofcourse not in front of childeren or visitors)

Okey… not 100% on the subj. but close enough: my experience w Czech Ladies is that on one hand - they don’t care about MY cooking skills at all :( Also they EXPECT a guy to be an electrician, plumber AND a carpenter! On the other hand everyday choirs like laundry?! It is ONLY from Czech females that I have heard that they not only don’t mind but also kind off ENJOY doing laundry for a guy ALSO 😮. This was a HUGE shock. I mean, may be there are some households in Sweden were guys don’t have to do their own laundry, but they are few and if it is that way he will hear for the rest of his days that she has to clean HIS dirty underwear. Can ANYONE please give me a hint of how “normal”/how common this is in Czech Republic that it is girl who washes guys underwear (in a washing machine ofcourse) ? May be it’s just me who have met this? And also - are handy men somehow hugely expensive compared to average Czech salaries? Or what’s the deal? Why is there such high expectation from a guy to have all these handymen skills? Also… This very low tolerance for a fact that guy can also be sick/can get pain. One can here from a Czech girl Like - “come on, aren’t you a Viking? “ Or “come - on be a soldier!” Like WHAT?! 😮 I mean I don’t see most of Czech guys looking like Rambo and I don’t perceive Czech to be particularly militaristic as such, but expectation among girls seems to be that one is more or less is a marine trained to endure pain without even a sound… I find a lot of things in Czech Republic to be quite same to Sweden (more or less), but.. This woman/man stuff seems to be Very different. I mean in my experience.
I'm a 🇨🇿woman, So my respond: electricians, plumbers etc. are expensive and somethimes really bad... fortunetly I have my boyfriend, men in his family, friends... What Is bad about doing laundery together? I put my dirty clothes with my boyfriend 's (same color).

As far as doing things yourself - doesn’t insurance company try to pin it on you if something happens? Like things brake and than you make a claim and they start to investigate pictures trying to say that it was you, the not professional repair person that is really responsible for this?
@@jammmy30 intresting... Well, different cultures... Living together for me means doing things together... My boyfriend likes cooking, So he cooks, I wash dishes, do laundery... In Czech Republic u have to know which electrician or plumber Is good, I'd never try someone without references from friends...

Or as a saying goes: “that’s why we all need to know at least one Polish person” :) Okey it is a very generalizing joke, but yes most of guys who work with that stuff are Poles. Some older ones barely speak English. So I have had a couple of instances where I had (!) to speak Czech to Polish construction workers near by our office. I have several more questions where I would like your perspective (coming in the next comment)

This give me a cringe. As someone who lived 8 years in Los Angeles anytime I hear feminism my hairs are up. Most probably I don’t want for Czech women to be miserable as American girls.
Btw. I saw your video about cultural shocks when you go back to states and I wonder why you didn’t tell us about most shocking problem? Drugs and homelessness everywhere. At least it was in 2021 when I left coz this. LA is really really expensive and safety is non existing but still most beautiful place I ever lived
