Mido was present in Brazil in the 1960s and 1970s, an interesting time for automatics here. Grandad has a gold Commander that is quite lovely. I believe that Mido was a sort of middle-class watch for people like government public servants and urban merchants, while Orient automatics were - and are - common amongst average workmen.
I have owned this exact Mido reference for over 1 year now. It is a quality piece. Slots in above Tissot, Hamilton and Certina, but below Longines, Rado and Omega.
@@coldpizzawatchreviews Great news. I look forward to your review as I have had my eye on one for nearly a year now. Jomashop and Ashford seem to have the best prices.
After seeing your original Mido 38mm Multifort review. I hunted it for almost 11 months. It's worth every penny of it :) :) :) - 100 Meter water resistant - Screwdown crown -Caliber 80 - with 80 power reserve with no plastic part just wish they have a better lume :D. The biggest problem is the long links - even with 2 half links (very long half-link as well). Sometimes it's hard to find a perfect fit
Bought the 38mm for $299 like yours off Ashford a couple of years ago. Love the clarity of the day/date complication but wish the bracelet had micro adjustments I have to wear it on leather half the time not my preference.
Thanks for the review & additional info about Mido! This Multifort is listed as black, but looks like a charcoal gray in the video. How would you describe the color?
I have one similar to yours except mine is larger but I don't have the day and date complications. I bought on Amazon for around 600 canadian so 20 usa lol. It keeps great time and is good value. I put in just a shade above hamilton and tissot. The dial reminds me of the microbrand maen. Great video as per usual
Im currently really wanting this watch! I recently discovered Mido.. I know.. I know.. Im a newbie. But my collection is growing. Its easy to go nuts on $100 watches, but Im trying to control myself (although I did buy a Timex Waterbury Peanuts Edition). My currently daily driver is a Heimdallr copy of the Seiko "Monster". Its big, chunky, and makes people say 'what the hell..', I love it. But for the more business or formal events I want a Mido on my arm.
Thanks for showing this watch. I have been looking at Mido for a while on Ashford but usually can’t find a review on the watch I’m looking at. Does this one have the pin and collar sizing system like the other Mido you reviewed?
That is one good looking watch, it looks larger than 38mm on your wrist. I just bought a Ocean Star 39 blue, it is beautiful the dial is amazing and I love the quick adjust bracelet but I kind of wish that it was 40 or 41mm rather than the 39mm. Still very happy with my purchase and I am Mido an now.
Love MIDO, especially the vintage models. Highly underrated in the U.S. and just a tad below Longines in my opinion. I also think they'd be better off being independent again, they are just stowed away somewhere within the Swatch Group...
Just bought this exact Mido from the retailer in Saudi Arabia. Absolutely love it. Surprised to know no one can find them easily, the store was stocked up with them. I guess they are still available in the Middle East region?

He’s got a great watch! I wish I would have kept mine.

Good to hear! Currently working on a Baroncelli video hopefully posting next week!

Great presentation about a product that doesn’t get a lot of press . Going to try to look at them in a different view . Great review !
Thanks!

and I have no idea why Mido is making huge watches these day.... always 42mm +
Thanks I felt it was time for an update!
@@robocopvn because the company mostly rely on sales in SE Asia. It’s their strongest market, unfortunately

I definitely agree!

The dial pattern definitely makes it look lighter than a solid black

Thanks I appreciate it! Glad you’re enjoying the watch they hold value pretty good on the used market

Mido has some great watches that don’t break the bank. Jomashop and Ashford often have some great deals on them.

Yes it’s definitely a large 38mm! I love the Ocean Star excellent watch!

Yes they offer a great watch for the money! I love the Patrimony definitely a sleeper.
It's a shame you can't really find the 38mm anymore since they discontinued them in favor of the larger 42mm.
I think Ashford has a two tone but it’s not my favorite.

That’s great! Yes I’ve never seen one in an actual store here in the US
Which is better for long term use, automatic or battery? Please give me your advice. Which type of watch should be priced?
Automatic can always be repaired a battery powered watch has circuit board and capacitors that can’t be repaired easily.
🙏
I have this vintage multifort mido watch but i can't identify it, i have been search it on the internet but i cannot find, can anyone help?
is nivachron spring in this watch ?
I owned this exact model but sold for 300$. Bracelet isn’t most comfortable.
$400? That's so cheap. I just got my first Mido, the Mido OceanStar 39 for $800++..
Definitely is a deal! I check Jomashop and Ashford regularly as they run some great deals on Mido!
No ar coating? Is mido trying to run Hamilton out of business???
New Multifort have AR on both sides.
Old model is looking better with white dial. ;)
