Honestly, he's not doing much here. Just dicking around, and to anyone who is defending him seriously needs to get a sense of objectivity and stop forcing unnecessary segregation. Synyster Gates has got to be one of the most unique guitarists I've ever seen, especially using unique scales and key signatures, as seen here, but, this is mostly just fucking around with divebombs and not much more than that. This isn't really a representation of his skill, but rather just a jam. Anyone in the right mind wouldn't consider this a demonstration of skill, especially considering half his songs are more intense than this entire thing. If you've seen the Rev's drum solo, you can tell when their demonstrating skill and when their just jamming for fun. Syn himself said he began to jam a lot more for the sake of just playing and practicing rather than playing for an album or something. This is nothing more than a jam, and neither fans nor doubters should really take this seriously.

He lacks creativity and emotion and improvisation skills, all his improvised solos are horrible. The part at 6:10 def sounds like something they already wrote for a song that's why it sounds good.

The same reason most instrument players use sheet music to learn a good portion of their songs: It's incredibly hard, time consuming, and left to a LOT of inaccuracies. I've done a few songs by ear to learn I did them horribly wrong. Also, metal isn't exactly slow or simple. especially not as you get into more advanced metal.
