- Hey guys, here's the Synyster Gates Master Class!
Part 1
I had my camera set up behind the other film crew that was there.
I don't think they really liked it, also, they were giving me a 10 sec eta, haha. (Also standing in front of the camera a lot) ;o, could have been an accident, though. My apologies, I didn't have much time to set up the camera in a good spot. However, I brought my GoPro and recorded what I could just in case something like this happened. ;)
I'll be uploading the next parts in a bit. Probably 1 a day or so.
Hope you guys enjoy it!! I'll also be uploading other recordings I made while I was in Hollywood with the other contestants.

His combination of shred and finesse are the reason why he’s the best guitar player of our generation. Flawlessly combining sweep picks with everything else and it’s all articulated clearly..

As a great guitarist on youtube, Chris Zoupa once said, it's very hard to combine technicality and feel to the perfect blend so that it touches the hearts of all fans. Synyster, congradulations because you managed to do that. Listening to your riffs and solos give me eargasms XD

I wouldn't say the best of this generation in my opinion it is tosin. Abasi of animals as leaders but that's just me saying what I like
maybe i should rephrase one of the best guitar players. he has his own sound and style that he achieved. great soloist as well
For radio friendly metal, yes I would agree that he is. But you should expand your horizons if you think he is the best guitarist of this WHOLE generation.

Synyster Gates is by far my favorite guitarist ever!!!!!!!! His style is so clean and impeccable. I love the fire and ice technique. Blues along with harmonic minor scales. And don't even get me started on his sweeping abilities. Phenomenonal!!!!!

WHOA. He brough his REV Custom-S out again. I haven't seen that one since the So Far Away Music Video.
I think he's used it in some live shows, don't remember which though
iTryLess in every concert that they dedicate a song to the REV he use it and if they dont dedicate a song to him directly Syn usually uses it during one of the Nightmare songs of their set-list
Actually, you've probably never seen this one becaue the one he used in the so far away video didn't have a sustainiac. I'm not sure why though because in the song there is obvious sustainiac use but he just didn't have one for the video. I didn't even know they made a rev inlay + sustainiac model, it must be super rare. Or after filming the SFA video he got a sustainiac installed and it is the same guitar, but we'll never know.
ThunderHawk606 Schecter never released the Rev inlayed model to the public so after filming the video he either had another made with a Sustainiac or had Schecter install, my best guess is the latter.
yeah, he probably realised that he needed to get one installed so he could have it when they played live.
Seriously, if anything like this ends up on the next album I'll be god damn stoked

used to be a vocalist but Synyster Gates made me pick up a guitar. his leads are insanely great. they might not be as fast as other greats, But great melodically and harmoniously.

Why isn't stuff like this on their new album. I appreciate going back to a sound that everyone knows and loves but capitalize on your talents and progress. This song was SICK and brought me back to the City of Evil days. AWESOME!

The reality of it is that Syn is insanely talented at what he does! He knows what he's capable of and he knows what his style of playing is. Plus not to mention the fact that he's clearly enjoying what he's doing. And that's a huge thing!
Yes, technicality is great but I'd much rather take influence from someone who plays with feel. Anyone can go home and learn a few scale patterns but if you don't know how to play them with feel, then it's just a waste of time.
With that said, Syn rocks. We know he does. Please quit your bitching!

Thanks a lot danny for recording this. Synyster gates was one of my biggest influences into picking up the guitar, can't wait to see the lessons!
Got to give Synyster Gates so credit. Not much of an Avenged Sevenfold fan but he was so relaxed and in the pocket during that it was ridiculous and when he was getting into it during the slow hand phrases that was awesome. I think that the more he progress...man if he keeps getting better by the time he's 40 he'll be pretty freakin' sweet.

The best guitar player of a generation or anything similar is just opinion. Gates is a great player. After seeing this I give him more credit. However fortunately for this current generation their are several future legends. My personal favorite is john 5 or Joe Bonamassa. But that's just my favorite. Just respect the player, their abilities and music. Be thankful we aren't stuck with 1 or 2 great players.

Marco Sfogli = the new generation. Syn has a long way to go, but he's learning. I can tell he's improving a lot. That tone is so horrible though. I wish he would redo his entire sound.
Thanks for posting this Danny! It's hard to get every last detail from my brother (Paul) about the class so I'm glad you recorded it! Enjoy your new guitar!
