Vipassana is not the only style of meditation. There's Antar Mouna, Antar Darshan, Ajapa Japa, Trataka, Tonglen, etc. as well as practices that enhance meditation like yoga nidra. Different techniques have different benefits. They can be used to reduce stress, develop focus, expand awareness, cultivate compassion, or reach self-realization or Samadhi or the state of Turiya.
