I'm seeing a pattern of relatively unknown studios putting out movies that are lazily slapped together to show off their "talents" instead of telling engaging, original stories they care about. Some of the scenes are so random and disconnected from the plot you can tell they were just made for the reel. Oh look, we can do character acting. Oh look, we can do animal locomotion. Oh look, we can do water effects. Too bad they're rarely done well.

The more I think about it, the more the idea of Ratatoing also being a knock off of Flushed Away makes sense. The reason characters in animation tend to have 4 fingers is because it makes it easier to animate their hands; though more modern cartoons tend to have five fingered hands since technology has made animation on small details like that a lot easier.

That may be a very shoddy description, but even if it's wrong, I'm sure more love and care went into it than what went into both those horrid movies combined.

The more I think about it, the more the idea of Ratatoing also being a knock off of Flushed Away makes sense. Ratatouille may be the obvious inspiration in terms of the focus being rats/mice with food, but the secret rat/mouse society that functions almost exactly like human society while still being part of it is all Flushed Away.

The reason characters in animation tend to have 4 fingers is because it makes it easier to animate their hands; though more modern cartoons tend to have five fingered hands since technology has made animation on small details like that a lot easier.
for 2d animation it’s often because hands look too crowded with five fingers.

Yeah; I'm a bit late, but if I remember correctly, after the events of "Little and Big Monsters", the whole sequence with them getting prepped to """""fight""""" was where "What's Up" started; or at least directly after that. Something about how not all the monsters were dead, therefore, the group needed to kill the rest. That may be a very shoddy description, but even if it's wrong, I'm sure more love and care went into it than what went into both those horrid movies combined.
