@@jayc3274 bro thats literally what i just did
my head hurts. when is the final exam?
+VPSantiago Playing the game after watching this and following his advice
3 years later.
I need to git gud
@@thestereotypicalauburnfan7180 I beat the game with only about 100 deaths.. idk if that's good or not
@@taemalan2290 That's actually pretty good. Better than most folks
But but, You Need 50 strength to dual wield the ultra greatswords
but big sword go boom
Playing through again after years, and this is still a top resource. Thanks mane.
I just started playing the game 2 months ago so it was all new to me. I'm very high level so I already knew how the stats worked, but I liked that he said attunement also affected rolling and estus drinking. (I knew that from increasing the stats) Other guides miss this, which will lead people that stick to "meta" to make wrong choices. People going for level 838 like me will figure it out from leveling so much, but people staying 120 will miss this type of thing. (because you often have to raise a stat 6-10 times to notice one of the benefits it gives you, like attunement helping your agility, along with adaptability.)
I just came back to dark souls 2 after like 5 years and this is still a video I 100% needed
Yes, glad I found this video again after a few years. Other guides on stats and leveling just don;t cut it.
I...umm....I killed the emerald herald. She called me frail.
McMee123 She should not have said that :O
Mauro Molinero when you reply 4 years late... then have someone reply a week late.

How do you fix this?
Excellent work and many thanks from a youtuber like you :D
Holy crow! Is that the metatron on a dark souls 2 video!?!?
@@themetamancer7402 Hi!
I didn't know the metatron plays ds2... Will you ever do an analysis of the armor sets? I would be very interested
No one cares if you're a youtuber, you could just say thanks
@@bananaknight8575 lots of people play dark souls. Who cares???
Great explananation vid. After playing Dark Souls I decided to play Demon's Souls, and found getting used to it really easily and finished it quite quickly. After picking up DS 2: SotFS I thought I would be ready, but boy, the changes From Software have made gave me a big ass whooping. Great job on making this video
+Macaco Macabra thank you very much for the kind comment (:
Also Adaptability will boost your I Frames. I wanna say when you get your agility stat to 97 or 102 your character will start to dodge like Ds1 or Ds3. For sure helped me get the game feeling more fair with its unforgiving hit boxes
For once, a completely unbiased guide for dark souls 2. Everyone always will make a guide saying how strength and vigor are your best stats and only casters should invest otherwise and adaptability is useless. In actuality, strength only scales better than dex but only deals with base physical damage and does not touch auxiliary offenses. Adaptability is an excelent stat for all types when invested only to certain teir thresholds and is even better when leveled along side attunment and endurance. And finally, hybrids focusing on one main physical stat, with just the requirements to weild your weapon or powerweild, a auxiliary damage type and a school of magic to either buff or complement that damage type is the much more benificial build than a all strength, some dex, max health, heavy armor two hand weapon build. All in all, excellent guide and fair veiw of each stat.
+Xanderqwerty123 Thanks for the kind comment, I appreciate it!
Xanderqwerty123 DEX FOR LIFE. KATANAS FOR LIFE.
I know, I'm half a decade late but whoever says ADP is useless doesn't know the game mechanics very well.
I never thought adaptability was useless, I just always thought it's just a stupid mechanic tbh
Very nice! Thanks for the help.
Awesome! Thank you for the advice. Going from the first dark souls the second is more complex and having someone explain it all is a real help thank you.
Dude, you deserve soooooo much more views on all of your vids. IMO, your DaS guides are one of the best out there. How could I help you making you more popular?
Thanks again.
Venegan Soulwomb Thanks for the support, just keep watching, commenting, and sharing with your network!

Thank you so much for this video, also your flawless pronunciation combined with the clean sound contribute a lot to understanding everything. Keep at it man!
Wow. This video is phenomenal. Incredibly helpful for a beginner like me. And, I know what HUD stands for now lol.

Dude...i wanted to thank you for your dark souls videos. You helped me a bunch with some things in DS1, and now that ive started DS2 im sure ill be refering to your videos here and there. I may not always tske the time to drop a like or a comment, since im usually watching on my tv, but please know that i truly appreciate all of the work youve done.
Appreciate it Zebb!
I did not know I could upgrade my self so I ended up beating the pursuer with the starting weapons lol
thanks this was of great help!!!
Thanks man, this video helped me a lot! I just started playing dks2 after finishing the first game, I was about to upgrade vitality when I noticed that it actually raised my equip load rather than HP, thats when I realized that I need to seek more knowledge about this sequel
Dam The Best Video I seen understood ever thing you said Thank You, Please do more!
thanks bro! this video was much needed..
good explanations on the stats. Now I understand Adaptability +
(: glad you found this helpful!
Great video. Coherent and Concise.
Well made video with great insight on stat gains. Thank you!
This was really helpful. Thank you. Now I know what to do when I respec my soul level.
This was very helpful. The explanations were easy to understand and very well done. Thanks a ton!
+Sebastian Coe you're welcome!
I started ds2 6 days ago and was confused about the stats as they are different from ds1. Thank you for a clear explanation on each of the stats. I liked dex in ds1 so that's what i'm going to do on my first run. Cheers! :D
Hey, i'm just getting started uploading Dark Souls videos. This guide is the most efficient and proffesional I've ever seen about DS2, straight to the point, no beating the bush. I like that, I've been inspired! Big thumbs up from here.
This is the type of guide Dark Souls players needed.
You know.
You explained the Best way to level up and then how to level up and when to stop for good builds.
Nice job
This is the only dark souls game it’s needed for bc it’s genuinely the worst one
Amazingly informative. Thank you!
im strugling in shrine of amana, im a knight wielding a raw +3 black knight halberd and a +10 tower shield, i have soul vessels and knowing i need 30str and 30dex to wield my items, what do you suggest i should do?
This helped so much, thanks! :D Starting a new load since I understand how this works so much better now..
SiLeNcEiKiLLU35626 You're welcome, thanks for leaving a comment!

***** You're welcome BRUH!
thank you so much idk if I wasn't looking hard enough or what but this is the only video that describes these stats this way its exactly what I was looking for
+Isaiah Bryant you're welcome bud, glad you found it!
question, so if i heard correct 'Faith' will increase your LIghtning weapon right? and also weapon that do Bleed damage?
Love this guide. I hope you do this guide for DS3.
What music was playing in the background during the explanation?
Dude - thanks for this! First time I've seen it laid out coherently. Dark Souls 2 is the first 'Souls' game I've properly got into, and it's 'user-friendliness' compared to previous titles has eased the frustration. It's finally clicked, and I might even go back and retry DS1 and Demon Souls! Thanks again!
Ian San Miguel I definitely recommend going back and playing at least Dark Souls.. I have tons of content on it to help you through it as well.
Currently at level 110+ with my Tank build and i had no idea how many points i was wasting in my already high stats.
Thanks for clearing all this up so i can start rebuilding my Tank to be more "point effiecient".
I would like to know, whats the optimal poise number to resist most strikes that would usually inturrupt your actions? (and by this i mean swings from other swords that arent as giant nor powerful than anything greater than a Ultra greatsword or a [firestorm, scraps of life] spell)
Great help thank you so much!! Everytime I manage to kill a Boss or an Invader I dedicate the souls to you XD
+Zoroglu Türk haha finally I have reached false God status. Yussss
What was the music at the very beginning of the video?
Nice one, good to know for when I start playing on Friday. Lots of changes which I didn't know about. It would be good for you to give us some example builds and the best stat choices for various classes.
h1tchman My style of play doesn't really ever include "builds" unless I do a level 1 playthrough. I have the knowledge of it though, so maybe in a bit I will touch on that subject more.
Very helpful, thanks, bro.
Thank you so much for the help.
Great guide right there, thank you for the Info!
kuilu I appreciate it :)
Omg! Thank you so much this was a big help!
+foxglyder89 you're very welcome!
Thanks man. This is putting me on the right path. Excellent vid.
Albensinator You're welcome, happy to help!
Sweet Sean. I Will wait on the lets plays until i had my first playthrough myself :) excellent vid as always... You set the standard :)
Chris Bjerregaard Appreciate the kind comment man
This is an old one but man it makes me feel much better to know what the stats do specifically. I didn’t even know that there was a stat to make rolling and item using quicker. Much thanks to a very late comer to the series 😂
Happy to have helped you out bud :)
I needed this in my life thanks
Thanks man I didn't how high I should rise each stat to.
+1614bluedragon you're welcome, unfortunately this kind of information isn't explained in the game.
probably the most in depth guide I've ever seen. well done good sir!
+Stewayben you're welcome bud, thanks for the kind comment.
great video bro! thanks for making it!
+Matthew Schmidt you're welcome!
Very helpful thank you!
this is lovely. I needed this.
thanks i have the pefect idea for my build lol new to the souls games
You sir, just got a new subscriber. VERY useful information, thanks!
Putrid616Flesh You're welcome, thanks for the sub!
Anyone knows the background song that starts at around 1:45 ??
Thanks!
Guide is very good because you included the soft/hard caps in an easy to read chart.
muffemod I'm glad you found it helpful!
Oh my god! I am a Dark Souls 2 newbie and you have helped me so much! You are awesome!
Wendel Chaves Very happy to hear it! Enjoy the game :)
This is super helpful. Good job!
***** thank you, have fun!
omfg thank you i couldn't figure out how to level up at all
you're welcome bud (:
One of the best put together guides I have seen yet. Thanks. Wish I would have seen this before I hit my +1.
Robert Large Appreciate the comment Robert. Have fun on your NG+ :)
how does it matter if i choose push int befor will? the stats will rise anyway
I tried to upgrade my strength and it does nothing, no blue increase at all, granted it's at 55, it go's up to 56 but no there's no increase in any performance, any idea why?
It should also be noted that AGL increases your s when rolling, making it MUCH more effective.
im a ds2 beginner and this helped me a LOT. cheers dude!
+passion4progress good luck!
This is such a good video, thanks dude... i always feel my build sucks and i get stuck on bosses.
Stelios Kontos you're welcome! Boss fights don't typically require a great build. There is usually a few good tactics for different builds to defeat them.
thank you so much!! you deserve more views, its obvious you put a lot of time into this
Matthew Susich Thank you Matthew, I really did spend quite a bit of time on this hah!
Thank you so much! DS2 is my first souls game and after a really rough start I'm enjoying the hell out of it now thanks to your video! So good! Also what was the music you used for this video? It's so mesmerizing.
You're lucky, the other games will feel like massive improvements if youve started with ds2.
An excellent guide my friend. Much appreciated.
TheOmmadawn You're welcome, thanks for the comment!
I didn't know that faith increased the bleed bonus. Awesome! Thankyou 👍
You're welcome bud
Good stuff. Thanks a lot! Subscribed :)
Riccardo Ray Appreciate the sub! :)
Thanks a lot for the tutorial! Now I understand. ^^
Ramiro Cibrian Happy to have helped!
Maybe a sidenote shoulda been added that Agility is probably one of the most important skills to invest in for newer players, because the ability to evade as you mentioned, is just another way to say that it increases the amount of invincibility frames during a dodge
So if I invest in Strength and DeX until 40 and add bleed or poison to my weapons it will do extra damage? I'm so confused in the infusion stuff. Found the fire sword in Majula but changed it to bleed. But after I did that my damage was halved.
Infusions change the scaling of the weapons. It's always a trade off. You can see how it will change the weapon prior to committing.
Great video and very helpful keep it up!
freakymrp Appreciate the comment bud!
12:56 correction - faith does not increase spell uses and it never has (in previous patch versions). Where did you get this information? Thanks for the vid.
Wow there is someone still playing
Thank you, great video 8-9 years later.
Great Guide! knew within 2 minutes this would be an incredible guide, give me a bit of base knowledge before plunging into the game, thank you for a very informative video!
Georgio169 Thanks for the kind comment!
I understand souls stat language pretty well but this was a perfect brush up after platinum trophies for 1 and 3 since they are both sooo different.
Omg thanks helped so much !!!
Wyatt Griffith Glad to hear it bud!
Well done and much appreciated thank you.
+TinFoilCookies you're welcome, have a good one!
What was that song at the intro?
i'm not sure how, but this was one of those rare videos that got me to subscribe in a single viewing. i believe a well done is in order. well done, great vid.
+Ferret Prince Thanks for the kind comment and sub! Have a good one.
You Sir got a new subscriber. Great Video Bro!
gzlzmaistro Thank you very much!
Thank you
So, for someone starting out, it would be best to pat attention to the soft caps of the attributes that you want to focus on, like, in my case, which is a lance/spear/heavy weapon set with medium armor, it'd be best to ignore the stats involved with magic and focus on the rest? Vigor, Adapt, Str, End? In my case, which two attributes would I need to focus on most after they hit the soft cap? Sorry for the questions, as I'm still moderately new to the Souls franchise.
I finished Dark souls 1 recently and I was rather disappointed to find that the Dex character I beat the game with could not be used to use the heavy str weapons and armors they collected on the first playthrough.
+Iliya Moroumetz in dark souls 2 you will have the ability to respec your build with a soul vessel so if you make a mistake it won't be so costly. I suggest once you reach the soft caps look at the weapons you're using and see what they scale with and invest more into those. Also keep in mind if you have a level you want to stop at, so you can then plan out completely how to appropriate your stats.
Seriously underrated channel!
Thanks so much!
I'm a swordsman and I barely parry or block so would strength, dexterity, vigor and endurance favour?
Mokibo upgrade your attacking stats (str and dex) based on what kind of requirements are needed for whatever weapon you favor yielding. vigor and endurance will always be useful.
Well I murdered Benhart for his blue greatsword because I had a "kill them for their stuff" mindset at the time.
I have played this game never beat it because I did not know about this video now that that the stats are explained I'm a own the gameplay
best stat guide out there!
Thanks for the sweet spot levels.. I recently watched a video that said 40/40 is useless though and you should only go to the level where you can wield the weapon, because infusing your weapon and dumping into int or fth will yield better results.. What are your opinions on this? I'm pretty lost on building my character, I've already used one soul vessel, thanks
depends if you're going for pve or pvp the only build that doesn't work that well in pve right now is probably a dex build, right now pvp is just straight out ''cheesiest magician one hit build wins''
