pro tip: if you're consciously thinking about how you're holding your mouse ESPECIALLY while you're playing, you are going to play way worse than if you just grab the mouse however it feels natural. Dont obsess over stuff like this because you'll go crazy, you wont have fun, and ultimately you wont play as well as you probably could.
The worst thing i ever did was buy another mouse while i didnt feel like my then current mouse had any issues. Started obsessing over mouse grip style and switched between the 2 mice at least every day. Felt like something needed to change so i bought another mouse, and then another. Now i have 6 mice of which 3 are sitting in a box and 3 are still currently on my desk and im in an endless mouse crisis. 0/5 would not recommend
A piece of advice I heard from Zy (Rocket Jump Ninja) is that one should only consider these issues when in training and not ingame. Just focus instead on the game when in the middle of it to avoid trying to fix the wrong problems.
i use a palm grip for apex legends because tracking with a palm grip feels really good flicking is a bit rough, but hey I'm pretty sure every grip is a good grip just depends on you
i used to palm a lot but i felt like my sense was too high for it even though its 800dpi and 1.5 in game, i feel so much more confortable with fingertip
Semi-claw grip and my index and thumb make a distorted C shape. I use the Model O and my hand barely fits on it so that is why. Having big hands with long fingers can be quite annoying when it comes to holding a mouse down...
I grip my mouse using 3 fingers: index on the left button, middle finger on the middle button and ring finger on the right button. What´s your opinion about this?
It depends on what game you play, if you play a game where you spray a lot you wanna have a grip with a lot of control, e.g. pubg, csgo. In a game where you almost only tap like in valorant you should maybe try to use fingertip
what is my mouse grip called the middle of my palm is on my mouse not the back, the back is only touching the mouse pad and my fingers are slightly arched
Goes deeper than this. Each person should have a custom mouse AND a custom grip suited to their own needs. I made modifications to my grip and mouse so I can hold it better so I can have tight/accurate fingertip control between the thumb and forefinger, and I can apply downward pressure when tracing a corner. This is how achieved SMFC in CSGO, I can do pixel-perfect peeks and kill anyone at any rank (the peek itself is usually 100-200ms).. It's not just a matter of "choosing the right mouse".... Ideally, you would have a custom mouse that makes you feel like you can do anything, and there's no fighting against the mouse in a tricky situation, the crosshair never becomes tense, out of control, out of reach, etc. 90% of the time when I "miss a shot" it's not because I couldn't react, it's because he was outside the range of motion of my crosshair with my current grip, I literally couldn't reach him, and I watched it all happen in 100-300ms. The arm/hand/mouse/desk interface is what translates your movement into crosshair movement. If you pay close attention to the crosshair, you'll notice that the mouse may feel comfortable to hold, but doesn't accurately translate your movement into game. The hand is also weird and asymmetrical, so it's tricky to align movements along all axes. There are a few more factors involved, and they matter to a different degree in each person. Mouse shape (affects finger/hand contraction), sensor position, fulcrum/pivot point of your wrist, arm/finger contact with the mousepad (slows/smooths movement), desk height.. etc. I can flick/pull to anything onscreen with one grip, but can't do some other things. Also, some people quickly fluctuate between different grips/techniques without even noticing (movements can be within 50-100ms, not counting reaction delay). Most pros just compensate for all these factors with their insane focus/reaction/tracking. So by process of elimination, the people who end up the top are said to have the best "mechanical skill" or "natural skill" simply because all the people who couldn't reach their true potential have been eliminated along the way, but of course even the pros themselves can't explain their aim. So we need at least 3D-printed custom mice with radically different shapes, customizable sensor position (x/y), and adjustable-height desks. In the future, you could have something like dual sensor mice, or an additional arm sensor (this would make arm movement faster than wrist movement!), or full hand laser/video tracking (at 1000fps let's say), or a glove, or eye-tracking.. who knows. It's getting a little silly watching people struggling to grip the same mouse from 1995 over and over again.
Finally someone who has had the same train of thought as I have, but developed it even further! Any tips on how to find/create ones perfect shape? How did you modify your mouse? I was thinking experimenting with clay.
i have a weird grip I have one finger straight and the other one isn't straight the one that is trigger (to the left/ the one closest to the keyboard is straight but the other one ain't)but it's fine because i am good with it. i am in LE in cs and i am currently faceit lvl 6(was 7 but then i lost some elo because i was in a loseing streak :C)
Don’t listen to this dude just hold it however you want, if you think your sens is too fast after holding it a different way it’s because the way you hold your mouse impacts the way you play, changing your sensitivity isn’t going to make you aim exactly the same speed of the person you are trying to replicate simply because of the fact they hold their mouse differently,
but. u use the whole arm to move ur mouse for a long distance and precision targets u move just the wrist so the whole arm should be on the mousepad and table. depends if u have a 800m mousepad or not. if not get one. PEPEGA

Do i keep my wrist on mouse, in air, or on mousepad? Do i keep my arm in air or on mousepad? Do i aim with wrist or arm? Im confused someone help pls
