NGL, I kinda hated Gambit in the comic books. He was totally uninteresting, and badly written, but Channing tore this role up, and he was one of my favorite characters in the movie, even considering so many other great cameos! I would totally watch a Gambit movie if its as much fun as Deadpool.
When actors get to call the shots for characters they KNOW they can play, audiences always win.

My husband who like Channing, has been a Gambit fan since the 90s. We saw the movie a few days ago and I can tell that he was very happy how Gambit was portrayed.
I have been a childhood fan as well since the 90s. And I can also confirm that it was a very spot on portrayal of my favourite x-men. Hope they do make a Gambit movie! Now if only they would Beast some justice as well.
Gambit was probably my first favorite character from animated in the 90s. This is the most accurate portrayal we've had. Was is definitely not expecting to see Gambit!
That's one thing that I love about Ryan Reynolds. He does not care and tries to portray these fictional characters as accurate as possible to the audience. Gambit's suit looked amazing and even if it's not something you would see on a regular day aside from cosplays, it is a heroes outfit and it looked awesome. For sure if they ever make a Gambit movie, I'm there for it.

Girls drooled over him in Magic Mike. I drooled over him as a comic accurate Gambit accent and all. Gambit is my all time favorite character so when I saw this I was so pumped because he did Gambit justice!

Honestly I wasn’t a huge fan of anything like superhero, until my bf invited me to watch the new Deadpool movie i fell in love with gambit and I just finished watching the new x-men show 😂😂 I am starting on the old one don’t worry

I’d love to see Channing Tatum in a Gambit movie - this movie needs to happen NOW!!!! His performance in Deadpool & Wolverine blew me away, I was cheering for him in the theatre.
Nothing would make me happier than seeing a solo Gambit movie, and I loved how Channing brought him to life. Been a Gambit fan for over 30 years!!!
I'm all for another Gambit appearance, just hope they take their time to craft a good coherent story as that is what usually holds back the actors of their full potential.
I really enjoyed his take on the card throwing approach, from a gentle flick to a reverse throwing style so you never know where they were coning from, it made his style unpredictable and highly enjoybale to watch.
Listening to his voice is awesome and his fight moves is on Q. We know who our Gambit is. 👍
I wasn't on board with Channing Tatum as Gambit when that was being rumored years ago, but after seeing him pull it off in Deadpool and Wolverine I definitely want to see him in starring in his own movie.

As a kid in the 80s, Gambit was always my favorite character. Channing never fails to deliver. When I heard he was doing Gambit years back, the kid in me got so excited then crushed when they finally announced it was cancelled. As much as I loved every bit of D&W, by far the best part was seeing Channing (in the 80s Cartoon accurate outfit) show up and do his thing! “Who is your dialogue coach?!” 😂
I became a fan in the early 90s but Gambit was my first favorite Marvel character too. I was so glad to see his character done Justice. I also remember the "Origins" disappointment.

As funny as that is, that is exactly how he was written in the comics, and how he was portraited in the cartoon. That over the top cajun accent was amazing. Problem with the previous on screen version of gambit, outside of no suit. Was they tried to make him "real" by playing down the accent. Gambit is always over the top! I mean He's an Omega level mutant, but you'd never know it because as over the top his personality is, he life as a thief lead him to be very subtle with his abilities.

Channing Tatum is a heart throb actor and puts his all into his movies. As I watched the Deadpool X Wolverine movie and Gambit came into scene with his iconic outfit I was happy but when he spoke like the Gambit from my childhood I was screaming because Channing nailed his accent unlike the actor and I was even more excited for that fight scene as Channing nailed his fighting style as well. All I can say is if they give Channing his own Gambit movie I’d buy tickets and the movie and any merch because I’m officially a Chambit fan.
I have been waiting for this as long as Channing has!!!! I have been a fan of the character my entire life, and while Taylor Kitsch is a good actor in his own right, he did NOT do this role the justice it deserved… Channing on the other hand, knocked it tf out of the park… he’ll he hit such a massive home run with his portrayal, that there will NEVER be anyone else who will fit that role in my mind!
When I watched the movie, I didnt know about Gambit, Channing's performance was great.
Gambit is an awsome character and will be great in his own movie. Channing did it perfect. Gambit is the only reason I watch Xmen 97

I hope he gets to play Gambit with more screentime and a proper character arc in a future X-men film or even his own movie.
Openly cried when he appeared on screen. It was a wonderful moment.
The problem with having Unified MCU with all stories connected to a larger narrative, is that while it provides a larger canvas for storytelling (and money making, if it is done right), it is also very restrictive and disallows creative offshoots. Marvel-Disney's desire for an MCU, with phases, and narrative timeline and "checkpoints" is all well and good, but it is NOT responsive to audience excitement and interest.
So, yes. I believe the arrogant powers that be at Marvel-Disney will believe that they know what is best, and will make movies they THINK the audience want... and will continue to lose money.
Ryan Reynolds said it best - you need to focus on the story and the character, and the point is to tell a good story with good characters who can win the audience over.
I want a Gambit movie. But it has to have a good story. It should tell a good story.

He nailed the main tag line phrases that us 80s/90s kids remember best. It took about 8 seconds after he showed up as Gambit to go from wtf to let's fucking go!
He waited for years and was unable to do Gambit in originals due to movie commitments. I am happy for him.
I hope he gets the suits to get a Gambit movie happening again... w/ Tatum. Have him sport the eyes though and he'll be perfect. Really enjoyed him in Deadpool and Gambit was one of my favs growing up so I'd be thrilled if they finally had a movie done for Tatum's Gambit.
The only things he was missing were the eyes and gloves
Watch his eyes when he uses his powers they do change so it is in the movie at least with his eyes
Channing's interviews show that comic book nerd excitement and understanding of what it is to represent playing the character and I'm all in for it.

I grew up with the cartoon Gambit in the 90’s but either way, I’m so happy that he’s gonna be portrayed properly this time. I am in no way blaming Taylor for that role but the producers definitely missed the mark last time. I’m so glad that Channing has such a love and passion for that character.

I'm a 41 year old life long Gambit fan. He wasn't just my favorite X-Man but my favorite superhero overall from the time I was like 7. Channing did a top tier job and looked amazing. As a southern boy, he also did great with the accent. If it sounded funny to anyone, take a trip to rural Louisiana, southern Mississippi, and southeast Arkansas. They really do sound like that.

I've seen it twice in theaters, and both times, Gambit was my favorite part of the movie. He steals every scene he's in. Gambit has been my favorite X-MEN character since I was a kid, then Wolverine was number 2. So, this whole movie was such an incredible experience, especially with Hugh in the classic yellow and blue. But YES!! We need more Gambit ASAP!! A movie, a series like Daredevil, or an actual X-MEN movie with all of them in comic accurate suits. I've wanted that since the 90's. MORE PLEASE!!

I think it’s hiiiiiiiiiighly ironic that the most popular X-characters occured during the Jim Lee/Chris CLaremont run, 😆 I still have my original comic Gambit’s debut, ohhhh man so awesome. WIsh they dropped Jim Lee’s name somewhere in the movie, dude is a comic artist powerhouse in the industry.
You saw the storefront shout-out to him, on the street just as the deadpools were showing up? With the funny joke built in about feet. You can see it in pictures where Deadpool and wolverine are standing there together.

So far everything I get from this movie and its crew is a big camaraderie, they act more like a pack of best friends than workers and I don’t know any other instance where an actor portraying a character would be so invested in the movie like Ryan is. I mean he’s not only starring in this movies but he is the reason they exist, and now he’s using it to put a spotlight on some of the most beloved actors in the industry. This system is the future of cinema.

So Tatum dad was Creole and grew up with the accent. I’ve definitely heard similar accents growing up on East Texas. You get used to it.

I think the best was to continue the franchise forward would be with Keene in an X-23 spin off, as well as Tatum in a Gambit spin off. For those who have been wanting strong female leads, I think Keen would definitely fill the bill so long as the writing stays true to the character and doesn't fall back off into Dinsey wokeness. Could be another great franchise opportunity.

People need to stop blowing smoke up Channing Tatum's ass. He was fine as Gambit in a deeply unserious movie like Deadpool. But that was really just Channing Tatum in a Gambit costume. For the MCU, they need to get someone younger (Tatum is already in his mid-40's) and who is capable of adapting Gambit in a serious manner.
My favorite xmen characters are in this order is Deadpool, Wolverine, Gambit/Storm so i was so incredibly happy to see 3 of my four top three stand side by side

It sounds like that Shawn & Ryan are pushing for next movie with Chan as Gambit! Plus, I read that Chan's father is from New Orleans making his father, a true Cajun! Chan was born in Northern Alabama in a town called Cullman. I hope that Ryan & Shawn get greenlight for overdue Gambit movie!
Been waiting for Gambit, he was my fav in the Saturday morning cartoons growing up.
The one they created in Origins Taylor was very much lacking.
Channing needs to slim down a bit but overall he did a fantastic job as Gambit.
If you look at his video where he is training with the bostaff he’s pretty slender the issue is that he has fat face which is why the head mask looked funny.

So, I will be completely honest. Until I saw Channing in full getup, I was sure he'd be a joke. Seeing the little clips from this, I about pulled a Star Wars Theory, teared up a bit.
Gambit and Nightcrawler are probably my favorite "heros" in the MCU and in comics. I've been waiting for a proper reveal of Remi for almost 20 years when I saw Xmen as a teen.
I'd given up hope of ever seeing it done. I'm not getting my hopes up for anything else but I have this atleast. I'll buy it when it releases. Hopefully they make a special edition 😊.

Channing did such a good job as Gambit, that I forgot that they had had a Gambit previously. Channing is so dead on. I have been a Gambit freak since the '90s... I didn't watch the cartoons... I was a comic purist at the time. Channing is Gambit to me. His accent is pure and fantastic The attitude is pristine. He knew how to do Gambit's charming cockiness without making Gambit sound like a dick.
It took some odd years, but ryan reynolds became what brie larson wanted to be, marvel jesus.
Based on what I saw in Deadpool and Wolverine ID be totally down for a Gambit film. Plus due to the ending of that film there's a possibility to have that movie take place in the MCU w/o any time line nonsense.
Dam if Ryan produces it and does a Deadpool cameo it would be dope
I would watch a Gambit movie or at least an X-Men movie with Gambit in the spotlight. I haven't seen Deadpool and Wolverine yet, but I love what I have seen of Gambit on RUclips.

If he get a movie I hope they do something darker than DP. Preferably closer to the Netflix "Dark" series. Tatum has range its worth it to go less comedy and more dark drama.
