Look forward to seeing how your opinions on units change going forward and as you try new units im glad your having a blast though!
Knowing me, it will probably change a lot once I figure out how to get the most out of our army 😂
@@Rokkis_Gaming_Lounge have you done a refresh of this one lately? or are we waiting 3 more months
@@un7ucky kinda waiting on what the new update will bring! But yeah definitely have some different opinions on a few units now
All in all i like this list! I do however, against popular opinion, really like the myphitic blight haulers. I run 2 to 3 of them every game and i keep them on flanks. Also tallyman gaining the cp is kool but i think he really shines as a leader because he adds 1 to the hit roll for the unit. I like to run him with some shooty plague marines for the meltas and launchers. I would also say LoV has a lot of support gain staying with some deathshroud because he up the ability to get those wounds with the anti infantry 4 on their spewers. I would like to add that ive only played casuals so far and plan to get into some tourney games soon ish, but i only recently got to 2k army size.
That's awesome that you are running MBHs in your list! I do like the idea of having the Tallyman in a small unit of Plague Marines too, so he isn't just hanging around in your deployment zone not doing much. Exciting that you are going to start playing tournaments :)
Thanks Rokki for sharing your tier list. I don't own a lot of these models but I've been proxying them in small games with friends to test them out. Now I have to try more of these allies (chaos knights) that you mentioned (apart from nurgling, which I agree are auto include).
I have watched a lot of Death Guard battle reports on RUclips, and I'm starting to see some patterns.
- I've seen people use a measly 5 plague marines in army lists to lists that use 30+. They are just so economical at 16 points currently. Melee plague marines punch up for sure! I think people don't like their low durability but at their low points cost, if they take the damage instead of your PBCs or Terminators or Typhus or Morty, then it's well worth it.
- I'm not sure if Chaos Lord dessication conduit with an icon bearer works because of the wording of the Chaos Lord's ability that says something like "within contagion range of this model" as opposed to "within this unit". But maybe I'm wrong. From Battle reports I've seen, the measly D3 mortal wounds is unreliable. It's a perk but not something to build your army around or depend on.
- When I asked the community what anti-tank options DG has, people point to the Defiler as an option. One of the reasons people tell me they don't use it is the model is outdated and you have to buy the generic chaos space Marines one and it doesn't look nurgly enough. They also cite tournament terrain being not advantageous for the Defiler to use its ability. I would love to hear your thoughts on the Defiler if you ever get one.
- People that run Landraiders seem to use it for transport of terminators instead of deep striking them from what I've seen. Not sure how good they are otherwise in terms of anti-tank.
- I think Blightlords often get overlooked. They are cheaper in points compared to Deathshroud and have higher durability but their damage output is lower. I think people tend to pick Deathshroud for their damage output. It seems Blightlord stacked with a character allows the character to use their abilities on the board much longer (unless opponents are using precision). Would love you to try again with the Blightlord vs Deathshroud again to see...
- I agree that PBCs without Lord of Virulence or Morty just seem to be lacking. PBCs by themselves lose damage output... Agree with your thoughts.
- I think Lord Felthius is a Lord of Contagion. I think you can use him as a model if you don't have a Lord of Contagion. The other Lord of Contagion I've seen is from the old Dark Imperium set??? It's pewter metal. It's out of production I think.
That's awesome! Proxying is a great way to try out new things before fully committing to them :)
Also, thanks for taking the time to write all those notes. I really enjoy hearing other people's opinions on this kind of stuff!
Nice one, I found your channel from following Aiden, good to see a Kiwi playing DG! I'm a Kiwi living in Australia and have found it tricky to track down a lot of the chaos allies like Predators.
That's awesome! I was really stoked to get him on the channel :) It's crazy right. I was talking to my local hobby store about it once and they were saying that NZ/AUS share the same stock. You really have to keep a close eye on the GW website, everything sells out so fast.
Great Unclean One for his points is amazing, loads of wounds and tough and hits like a Knight...well worth it mate,
I really want to get my hands on one oneday!
Thanks for the video dude
Thanks for watching :)
What a fun video!!! I enjoyed it a lot. I haven't used knights yet but always thought a Karnivores looked really good. I only played my first 2K game last week. I don't own what I would actually like to have yet. I love comparing and contrasting what does/doesn't work for me to your list. The big differences are Plague Marines, Lord of Virulence, and Tallyman. I quit using a Tallyman. It's ok for me but not as good as other choices. I only use a Plague Marine squad because they are thematic to the army. With my play style I couldn't imagine not taking a LoV. I used the LoC for the first time in my 2K game. He worked really good with Blightlords. And Typhus! Yes! He is incredible. I want to get a Sorcerer in Terminator Armor. I keep coming up against Custodes and he would be worth his weight in gold for those matches.
Nice! I can't wait to do a 2k battle myself one day :) I really need to start taking LoV more so I can get more out of my PBC. I forgot to mention that I think he looks so cool too haha.
I like the LoV more for my Death Shroud. Re-rolling those wound rolls for the plague spurt gauntlets has been amazing. He isn't the best combatant but between re-rolling wounds and the blast weapon buff is worth 100 pts. And the Death Shroud take care of most of his heavy lifting. for him. He is able to take the one or two models left after the Death Shroud is done.
I highly recommend the land raider! 13" movement plus charge is game-changing to deliver 10 melee plague marines with any of the powerful hqs, you will kill and bully your opponent badly. Also fantastic anti-tank which we already struggle with.
The bloat drone is really solid now for a hundred points. Fleshmower or spitters put up really damage and a serious threat range with fall back and charge. Not to mention that they're really tanky for the cost.
Can't wait to try both of these!
I don’t like the biolgus purifier model. But shit, he deals out mortals pretty dang good!
He was such a pain to paint. To many small details haha. But yeah, he absolutely slaps!
@@Rokkis_Gaming_Loungejust wondering if the Blight Hauler lost it's plauge spewer or if you didn't mention it since it wasn't good for vehicles?
@@blizzardgaming7070 Off the top of my head I think it only has missiles, a melta gun, and its little spurt thingy!
How do allied forces work? I've always been confused on this point.
For Chaos Daemons, you can bring up to 25% worth of your army. For Chaos Knights, you can bring 3 little ones, or 1 big one! Only downside to bringing them is that they don't have your army rules or can't use your faction specific stratagems :)
@@Rokkis_Gaming_Lounge thanks!
u should get a beast of nurgle, really fun model and super annoying for opponents also great oc
Oh I hadn't thought about that one! I'm not a huge fan of the miniature but maybe I'll find something cool to proxy it in. Thanks for the tip :)
yeah the model is a bit goofy, like whats up with those spaghetti dreads, maybe itd be a fun video to find a cool proxy and get it 3d printed?
@@EMsBF I haven't looked into 3d printing at all yet. Might have to check it out!
i think its quite an accurate rating and i cant wait to see mortarion finished!
Should hopefully have him done soon :)
maybe try to proxy some of the "haven't used" units and try them out, ranking army list while you havent played half of the roster isnt very accurate ... also Morty + PBC + LoV is must have and the most damaging combo we have, lastly chaos cultists not being auto include with scouting is joke sorry man ( Lord Felthius and the Tainted Cohort is just sorcerer in termi armor and three Blightlords termies)
Sorry, but how do you include War Dog Karnivores in Death Guard army?
Aren't they belong to Chaos Knight? Yes I am new to 40k gaming (Painted 40k miniatures for years but just have decided to settle down with the merciful grandfather and his passionate children)
Hey, that's awesome! Yes, part of the Chaos Knight rules is that other armies of Chaos can bring either 1 big knight or up to 3 little ones :)
@@Rokkis_Gaming_Lounge That still fits in the Plague Company detachment?
@ronniarbitiaas3095 unfortunately they don't get any of our army rules!
@@Rokkis_Gaming_Lounge so it is just the dogs who don't get the rules?
Other "ordinary" DG unit still have plague company bonus/buff/effect?
Thank you for answering these newb questions.
You forgot the noxious blightbringer
Haha yeah, I think I mention him briefly when talking about the Plague Caster. I didn't even realize beforehand that those 2 were on the same picture!
plague surgeon is worst unit in the codex bro.
It's so weird that he's the most expensive of the PM leaders too
@@Rokkis_Gaming_Lounge Indeed. At least the Standard Bearer can do some crazy things with the contagion, but the surgeon does literally fcuk all....
