  • Surat al-Fatiha (Arabic: سُورَةُ الْفَاتِحَة‎) is the principal part (surah) of the Quran. Its seven refrains (ayat) are a request for the direction, lordship and leniency of ALLAH.[1] This part plays a fundamental part in Islamic supplication (salāt). The essential strict significance of the maxim "al-Fatiha" is "The Opener," which could allude to this Surah being "the opener of the Book" (Fātiḥat al-kitāb), to its being the primary Surah discussed in full in each request cycle (rakʿah), or to how it fills in as an opening for some capabilities in regular Islamic life. A few Muslims decipher it as a source of perspective to a suggested capacity of the Surah to open an individual to confidence in ALLAH.[2]
