Woodturning | Small Maple Burl Urn

In this video I turned a small Maple burl urn. I used the threaded rings and inlaid Abalone on the base and lid.

Hi my name is Carl Jacobson,
I started woodworking with my grandfather as a young boy. I continued woodworking through high school, and started woodturning after seeing a turned project in a friends shop. Some of my fondest memories are working with my grandfather in his wood shop. Being able to share our passion for woodworking, ties it all together. As David said, sharpen that forstner bit. After all you sharpen your turning tools, so why not your drill bits. The urn is beautiful. I like the use of the threaded inserts. The finish is outstanding. Thank you for sharing. Have a great 2024 and stay safe.🙂🙂

You can easily sharpen that Forstner bit. Use a diamond card. I use a cheap set of bits from Harbor Freight and keep them razor sharp with a few swipes.
