  • 2021 Tesla Model 3 ex hertz rental 118k miles under $13k included auction fees, drives/handles great the battery charging & degragation is a mission and time consuming takes aprox 8 hours at home or 1 hour at a supercharger 4 times more expensive than charging at home wich is aprox 11cent per kilowatt vs supercharger aprox 44 per kilowatt depending on time of day compared to a regular gas vehicle or hybrid 5 minutes you gassed up for the week gas station in every corner not the case with superchargers and the short mile range anxiety cant go far from home where the hecks the next supercharger? really is a big downer on this car.

    Bait and switch - thanks for the video but I wasted 6 hours of my life today trying to buy a Tesla from a local Hertz in Smithtown LI. - After talking to 2 different agents and driving nearly 3 hours, when I got to the Smithtown office I was told there are no Teslas for sale and that the website was not updated in a long time. What a scam. Don't waste your time. I'll try to post this everywhere I can.

    120k miles is nothing for this car, very good price, have fun, charge it up at home with a wall mount charger, and maybe a couple solar panels, and then you will be saving thousands, for the steering wheel, I believe there are sensors on 9-3 o'clock, you just need to grab those part when it gives you the warning.

    It tells you to pay attention to the road because it monitors your head and eyes with an camera and sees that you are fiddling around with your smartphone and looking at it etc.
    Tricking the car with a steering wheel weight is not possible anymore, tesla switched also the camera on so tricking the steering works but the camera stills wants you paying attention to the road.
    Also Tesla introduced a "fix" for the steering wheel weight abuse that when the weight of the steering wheel weight is the same over a certain period of time the car notices it and gives you an autopilot strike.

      @oldcarflipper  2 месяца назад

      yes true also tells me to apply pressure to the steering wheel more often not sure if that is controlled by the camera also but I have adhd so maybe thats why it tells me even with both hands on the wheel then when apply pressure to wheel its often too much and disengages auto pilot works best for me with the scroll button but still a mission for me atleast.

      @@oldcarflipper I do it like this. Wearing a sunglass makes the system rely more on the wheel feedback if you apply force.
      I put my elbow on the upper door panel and put my hand on the wheel and let it hanging in there. I don’t get any notifications that i should touch or apply more force to the steering wheel at all

    Hi, am also looking into a used tesla I am only around 2k away from my dream car. I was wondering if the car comes with a charger?

    • @oldcarflipper
      @oldcarflipper  2 месяца назад

      This one came without one most teslas come with home charger I bought one online level 2 charger aprox $250 you would need 240volt outlet to charge at home cost aprox 11cent kilowatt or pay aprox 44cent kilowatt 4 times more if charging at superchargers the cost of supercharging is more during peak hours 4pm less than at 3am.

    These cars have internal cameras that monitor your eyes, so when it says pay attention to the road, it's usually because you are messing around with the screen and not looking at the road. 118k miles is nothing for these standard range vehicles.

    • @oldcarflipper
      @oldcarflipper  3 месяца назад

      yes I have been reading up on it they sell a magnet online that tricks the car and wont activate the apply pressure to wheel but not sure about the pay attention but seems like a safety hazard to use.

      Not always...one time it was sunny and I was wearing sunglasses, watching the road and it would go off every couple of seconds...that was with the full self driving trial though...the base autopilot seems to work better with sunglasses.

    This is a standard range Model 3 with an LFP battery pack. The car you got is an absolute steal and I will tell you why. LFP battery packs, while they tend to have less range than NCA packs, which are the ones used on the long range Tesla's, degrade SIGNIFICANTLY LESS and last much longer. This battery can easily go 350,000 miles at the minimum. In addition, because it's an LFP battery pack, you can charge it to 100% whenever you want. If I were you, given that it is equipped with the LFP battery, beat the crap out of it. As in, do whatever you want to do with it considering it already has high miles and the battery chemistry in LFP packs is much more durable than NCA batteries. I also would look into buying a CCS adapter, downloading the plug share app, and see if there are any CCS chargers near you that are free. Here in New York, we have a free CCS charger that's relatively fast that I use exclusively for my charging. In my opinion, with the fact that you can charge to 100% daily and not worry about it, the increased longevity of the LFP pack, and the only maintenance being tires, I think your decision is a great one.

      Stop lying, 350,000 miles on that original battery will net you a range of 80 miles maximum, who wants that? you can buy a used ICE car for $12,000 that will have a range of 280 miles.

      I believe this is not the LFP this is a 2021 it says on the charging screen recommended daily driving 80% charge I believe I read that lfp where in the model 3 built in late 2021 for 2022 year model and newer and yes those you can charge 100% these I have read about once a week to 100%

    Mine was similar, but mine came with the roof shade. I'm surprised at your cost. Mine was 20,600 with title and tax it was 23k. You actually got a good deal if the battery looks good. Mine had 82% degredation with 53,600 miles. Camera doesn't work and my seatbelt side interior is popped out. Things I didn't look at because I thought it was low risk. But always look in the service menu for everything that looks green. Mine was red for all my cameras.

    If you actually paid less than 13k, this is a steal. I save on average 2.5k a year on gas. Your car can pay for itself entirely in a few years, at which point you can throw it away if you chose to do so.
