good old design, only things I'd rather see a little different is getting the elevator "off the floor", and perhaps some vertical runners (ski's) up front to keep a prop from being easily snapped, just vertical foam board maybe 1.5" taped edge to make it slippery. BBQ skewer foam board wheel landing gear could be cool too.
Loved this video for many reasons, Jeremy will never be the same! Oh yeah, and could you guys do a video on setting up the Spektrum wireless trainer/buddy system?
idea for a build. try to make a big EDF fly! like just the edf,... attach wings and a tail to the edf. edf is the fuselage. in theory it should do like mach 3 or something.
used to watch you guys years ago as a kid/teen and i had previously been into rc cars but then i started to use your guys plane kits and paper prints and now i’m going to college for aerospace engineering and i had really just wanted to thank you guys for everything you have done even though you might not realize it
It's not anxiety ... it's excitement. Don't let the very word put you down right from the start, you're just excited for the new experience soon to come. You'll be just fine, trust me ... you excited boy.
I completely understand, I'm a combat veteran. I also have PTSD. I can relate 100 percent. I would love to come hang out with you Jeremy and fly for a week or so. Let me know if this is something that can be arranged. Thanks from Dave's Rc.
good stuff. so glad i stopped by my local dollar store and grabbed some foamboard and built the simple cub from scratch. i've been out of the hobby for many years but this single handedly got me back in. even my poorly built cub flew so well i was just hooked.
One of the things I love about this channel is how we get to see you walk the walk over the years when it comes to bringing people into the hobby. Josh Scott used to be our newbie. Then Stephan filled the role, with a little bit of Alex coming back to planes after having almost fully transitioned to quads for a long time. Now we get to cheer on Jeremy's successes.
Super timely video for us. My son has a Tiny Trainer he built this winter and as soon as the snow and puddles are gone it'll be our first powered flight. TBH as much fun as it is to watch you guys make crazy things fly, this content is great, because it is much more relatable. Thanks!
@@sawer Hey thanks! Good to see you too:) Hehe, this is a bit of a flashback, that tiny trainer we made flew about 10 seconds total before it's life ended in a tragic foam-meets-earth event😁 However we went on to build many many more foamboard planes and still look forward to those perfect summer days with no wind when we can get out and fly.
@@LostWax Love you took the time to reply! Really enjoy your content and sence of humor :) Sad to hear about that first tiny trainer, but glad to hear you and your kid are not discouraged to try again! Crashing is part of the hobby right? Also, you beïng you i can only imagine some crazy decorated planes! Perhaps steampunk, perhaps one with a Tricorn hat so it too, can look for love;)
@@sawer 😂 To be honest, I hardly ever decorate my planes, knowing they won't be around for long:) Though I would like to design a sort of fantasy/steampunk flying ship type of plane, that would be pretty cool. Just need more time in my life......
@@LostWax A plane doest have to fly in order to be enjoyed right? Sadly not much can be done about time... Before the speed of sound was broken by humans, some speculated if you went supersonic time would go backwards and you came out younger tho... Wont help much but its a fun tought :)
Did this as a scratch build, took it out for a maiden flight today. Flew beautifully. Crashed a couple of times, but took off and landed 5-6 times. Thanks for getting me started in the hobby!
Thats what I'm here for! I've been loving your foam plane builds since 2016 when I lived in LA and found out about you.... Back then I was about to go back to Germany and couldnt start building, over here it was way more complicated and expensive to get the right foam board, so I never build a plane until now. In Febuary I built my very first Scratch Build plane, a tiny trainer. I had a lot of trouble cutting out straight and my foam board sheets where only 11.6in x 16.5in. Got it in the Air and broke the wing a couple times while flying :D, that was fun. Right now Im finishing my FT Explorer Speed Build Kit, finnally decided to get one of your Kits and building it is so much easier than scratch building for me, really love it. Thanks Flite Test for all your great videos, teaching and promoting about the RC hobby, you really got me into it and I hope many more will come....
Instead of taking a Psychiatric Drug for PTSD, facing that problem at a small gradient really helps!!! Thanks FliteTest and Jeremy it sets a example for a lot!!! And helps a lot!!!!
Built that from plans (while waiting for my "3-PACK Trainers" from Flite Test to get here!), and It actually flew! First R/C Plane I've flown in over 60 years. Thank you Guys, ALL of you, for making all the planes, plans, and videos accessible to everyone. Love you Guys...
I really appreciate Jeremy's candor about struggling with PTSD. It's nice to see people being vocal about these issues rather than sweeping it under the rug. I also have PTSD and am really proud of Jeremy for helping himself heal and enjoy life
I learned to fly with a Tiny Trainer. Crashed it so many times since 2016 (especially in the beginning ) but the rear fuselage survives to this day. I've used this plane to teach friends to fly too. It's a great design.
In life generally its lovely to have a friend who is kindly and thinks enough of your feelings to encourage you like these guys encourage each other. I find that as amazing and beautiful as the aircraft to be honest. That was one of the first things that struck me as a great thing when I first started watching Flite test. I love these guys so much! Its not even put on or anything. I know genuine when I see it....
Thanks for sharing this! I quit the hobby ~40 years ago after only 3 flights because I was so nervous over crashes, so wonderful you are showing ways to help folks overcome that hurdle. I would have to still to sims nowadays due to minor health issues, but love watching y'all teach and have fun.
I cant begin to tell you how much your videos have helped me with my own issues of ptsd!! and if not for that disability keeping me from working i cant afford to start on my desire to fly!! but until which point i can afford to get one of your starters please continue to put out content that has me vicariously living through you. thank you for that!!
Always great to watch Jeremy overcome his obstacles, in his journey to improve himself! Alex is a good instructor, offering praise to help the student relax & enjoy flying. Going back to your roots - great idea!
Jeremy congratulations on sticking it out there and and being real for the world to see. I totally get pushing my comfort zone is hard to do. But you inspire my grandson to try new things. So every time you make one of these videos, remember my heart goes out to you!
ALEX! Don’t do this to me Alex! Has it really been 10 years since I first found you guys? I was 11 when I was eagerly researching what to get for my first trainer plane, when on Horizon’s page an epiode of Flite Test with a particular trainer was recommended to me. Now I’m 21 with you guys being a major inspiration on not only me in this hobby but my professional career pursuit too! Man....10 years....
This video takes me back. I began my rc plane adventure a year ago by building a FT Tiny Trainer, then I flew it with my friend Pete buddy-boxing me. I owe Flite Test and my patient friend Pete for getting me into this awesome hobby, thanks! I live for flying, it gives me such a thrill and gets me thru the week. I also suffer from anxiety and depression so I can relate to what Jeremy is going through - hang in there buddy!
I'm glad to see people being taught how to do things they have trouble with. Great job there in teaching him how to fly! Man, I swear, if this was around 30 years ago, I would have crashed a lot less planes! RC flying was a very expensive hobby back then!
So glad to hear Jeremy talk about overcoming his anxiety and PTSD. It's all too common for people to self diagnose themselves and not do anything to better themselves. Congrats!!!!
Lots of people struggle to actually talk about it, but honestly I think, by talking about your mental illnesses you become more and more self-reflected which possibly kinda helps to overcome all that.
Awesome job guys! My brother and I were at the open house today and my brother wanted to talk with Jeremy and thank him for inspiring him to go out and try crazy stuff in the hobby. Before this, my brother was a little reluctant to try crazy stuff with planes but Jeremy inspired him to go out and experiment and just have fun. Just a little story I’d thought I’d share. Great job FT team! All the best! -Myles
Don't stress about the wind, whilst it makes flying harder, when your learning and have a buddy with you, the wind is your best friend, you learn and advance as a pilot WAY faster in the wind. My local airfield is very windy and very very thermally, the bixler 1.1 can be a real handful in the wind but I think I am a far better pilot then I could have ever been learning only in calm weather. Today I landed on the runway properly for the first time (and did it 6 times over 4 flights) and have gotten past my fear/discomfort of flying over myself which was hurting my ability to shoot approaches. Last week I made my first paddock landing so very happy :) Another thing that I can see for people is how slow it seems when you first start out, hearing 8-10 weeks or longer to learn. I am on week 8, and it doesn't feel that long, it's really important you do not rush yourself, advance when you are comfortable and you'll learn faster because you're not stressing yourself out and not making ""forced"" mistakes by being stressed. One more tip while I got you reading, if you can afford it, invest in telemetry capable gear, in wind, the discharge rates changes a lot and telemetry is really helpful. My shortest flight was very windy, dirty air, 6 minutes. Average flights are 8-9 minutes. My best flight was also windy but the air was smooth and we had a great thermal that was just *parked* so managed to get an 18 minute flight. Telemetry gave me and my instructor the confidence to keep flying way past the timer because we **knew*** the state of the battery and also gave us the warning when the pack crashed out really quick due to high battery load.
Love how Jeremy speaks and about introduces himself. It's difficult to speak of issues. Love you guys / gals in general. I too had fear of flying RC, but I bit the bullet recently and never looked back. I bought your book first and read it a million times.
I’ve made many flitetest models and this is one of my favorites. It will fly slow, but with some simple modifications it can be very sporty. I use the sport wing without dihedral, 4 rubber bands, a carbon fiber arrow shaft as a spar and an 1800mah 4 S battery. Fun!
i have anxiety also from a heart issue about 7 yrs ago and thats when i started RC the only real thing that gets me relaxed is flying , when i'm flying nothing else matters , i fly mostly FPV wings and the feeling of being in the cockpit is like no other for me , i wish you the best you can do it and dont worry about crashing its part of the hobby it can be fixed just like you !!!!
The tiny trainer is my favourite of all the planes I've built. I haven't made many, but this one glides better than anything else I've tried! Love it :)
This video is great! I have been posting many less than happy with FT comments over the past few months because it felt like this type of content was lost from the FT video release mix. The simple planes and getting people into the hobby is what brought me to FT years ago and is the reason that I have suggested FT to people that see me out flying and ask about getting started. PLEASE continue to make content based around getting people into the hobby, as well as getting back to the basics for those of us that have moved onto more advanced planes. Thank you FT for getting me started down the path of RC flight fun!
Thanks for your support and feedback. It might not always seem this way on the surface but everything we do is about growing the hobby. We have found that the best way to inspire people into the hobby is with our focus on cool crazy projects. This attracts the attention of people who would never have thought to get into the hobby in the first place. From there we have our educational content we have already made and are continuing to put out, now on our Flite Test Tech channel, to get people success in the hobby. Thanks for your continued support!
The Basics should NEVER be forgotten! Awesome Video and experience. Looks like you won another convert. 😉 I also suffer from PTSD from back in Desert Storm. RC in general has been very therapeutic. I've been in ground Vehicles for over 30 years... Thanks to FliteTest, and the magnificent FT Community, I'm now beginning to fly!! I flew the real ones, and there was actually some UNlearning involved. But these Planes are so docile (unless you build them not to be!), that I got comfortable with it quickly. Thank you so much for all you do!! Carmine 🚂🚙
I struggled at the field on my own with 3 epic crashes until one day a fellow pilot approached me and asked if he could help. We traded the radio back and forth a dozen times before I was able to fly on my own, didn't have buddy box in the early 80's. I was ready to give up altogether, if that guy hadn't of offered his help. I was done.
For beginners it is all about accessibility into the hobby. I taught myself to fly over 20 years ago but had it not been for relatively cheap and easy electric park flying, the huge wall that was glow fuel planes and joining clubs would have held me back forever. Nothing can beat the freedom of being able to look out your window at perfect weather, grab a simple electric plane and go fly on your own terms.
I just got in my EZ Power Pak from you guys so that I can get a beginners taste into this world. With plans to save up and get a full set up later. Thank you guys for showing how easy this hobby is to get into now. Hope to fly with you guys one day in the future!
ok im going out tomorrow and picking up everything needed to build this plane. will be my first and this channel is the reason!!! I've been new in the past couple of weeks to the channel and you guys are just some cool "down to earth guys" lol. thanks for making this giant kid find a hobby I'm fast falling in love with!!
I'm still not sure which I like better, the building, or the flying! I've downloaded a lot of plans and built a few nice planes BUT I fear the flight because I know I'll crash it, so the tiny trainer has always been my Favorite! It's easy to build and even easier to land in one piece. Thank you Flight Test for all the fun!
I knew it was a Tiny Trainer when you folded the tail boom. It is also one of my favorite planes and I enjoy flying them on gentle days. Such a 'Happy little plane".
I dropped by the @FliteTest office today at Edgewater and was told by Stefan that this is one of the two planes I should consider as one of my first planes to fly. Checking out all the videos on it now!
I like how you speak "up" and not down to the new flyer which instills confidence and not how inept he might be. Mannerisms and attitude goes a LONG way towards helping others new to the hobby. Great Job, Guys!!
I remember my first plane from about 3 years ago. Tina the Tiny Trainer. Still one of my favorite planes. Love FliteTest, creating a better RC community.
Jeramy, I am sorry to hear about your PSD, I get what you are saying about the anxiety before and during a flight. I felt like that too for the first couple years of flying. The simulator is a huge help, keep doing that when ever you have the chance. Flying RC is not a mind game, it is a muscle memory skill, if you have to take the time to think while you are flying then the anxiety will kill you. When you train you muscle memory to work the sticks based on what your eyes are seeing and take the whole thought process out of the equation, then flying becomes relaxing, stress relieving, and fun. People ask me all the time, "How do you do fly so smooth, or how do you do such and such" My answer is always, I don't know how I do that, but my thumbs do. Keep it up brother, the anxiety will eventually transform into a theropy.
Just built a VersaWing, no motor, and been slope soaring down the beach every time the wind turns SW. 😎. Best plane ever. It is such a contrast to my other Pixhawk VTOL planes and so much fun.
Good training session. Excellent instruction. All in all a great day flying. When I learned, I had no instructor and it was a lot of trial and error. Mostly error. At least I was a private pilot so the learning curve wasn’t as bad as it could have been.
I recently started buddy boxing with my son flying our simple Cub. It's so fun, and almost feels like magic when you swap control of the plane with the press of a button.
Alex....great job man! I love the low and slow and the simple builds. You really hit it out of the park with this video. If there ever was a great "start up video" you just made it. Sometimes the silly stuff gets a little over the top but this was refreshing.
Great job Jeremy! As a new pilot, I totally understand where you're coming from. I kinda jumped into the deep end with the FT Scout though, but I had a lot of fun building it, and flying is a whole different barrel of fun when the wind cooperates. Keep at it, you'll be doing aerobatics in no time!
I am just stopping to say that this video was super helpful for me. Hearing from Jeremy and his struggles made this video super personal to me and things "got real". I used to fly RC but because of anxiety things that "just don't make sense" and " not rational" I stopped. Too afraid of crashing, or following all the AMA rules to a T, bothering other pilots etc etc this is one of the things I gave up on. Now.. its years later and I am struggling with day to day things. I really want to believe this video was legit and not just marketing. Really wanting to just let the weight off my chest and just fly. Thanks for sharing Jeremy!
This kind of upset me (wiping tears now)lol. I have suffered from PTSD for years now and I relate so much to Jeremy. Even dealing with anxiety while flying to the point of becoming obsessive over it. I just wanted to say keep on keeping on brother.
I like the camaraderie of the Flitetest team. Feels good to work amongst friends doing what you love the most and sharing it with the youtube community worldwide.
I love the Tiny Trainer. I still have the one I built from plans years ago. It is so fun to fly and easy to throw in the trunk - it is one of my go to planes.
Alex - AGAIN True inspiration, first jb and second Jeremy. Well done chap. A friend that everyone needs. A true friend ! Two big smiles on the faces ! Great video. RC Roo
I still fly my trainer all the time just for kicks! Good to try new things on too. I run a larger 1400kv motor with a 9x6 prop on it and a 2200mah battery, it is perfection set up like that. Smooth and quiet and has enough power to do any tricks but also slow to a crawl. I highly recommend it and can provide a special 3d printed power pod file I made to anyone that wants it, it will simplify the motor conversion. I get 20-30 minute runtimes too, It's a dream!
Tiny trainers are the best. I just finished my second one today, cant wait to fly, it too windy here, but to the viewer scrolling through the comments HAPPY FRIDAY!
PTSD sucks I have had this for 10 years. It is hard to deal with. I haven't been able to go back to work because of it. I use to work at a hospital and I have seen a lot of horrible stuff. when I go back to any hospital now and hear all the equipment especially when hearing a flat line sound. I start having flash backs of stuff that I have seen at work. I also developed GAD witch is a very saver Anxiety disorder. I ended up with the fear of dying. I lost my belief system and also have a really bad Low self a steam. I under stand how your friend feels. I just wanted to let him know that he is not alone. and with anxiety problems 90 % of the people do have anxiety problems and most of them think that they are having a heart attack. If you Can get in to CBT for anxiety and Tapping for PTSD a lot of people con over come their Anxiety and PTSD with with this kind of training. I wish you all the best. Take care be safe An always be happy and healthy. Cheers!!
I miss flying. Been on a 2 year break. Just watched this episode with my 6 yr old daughter and she wants to fly. Good time to start building and get back in the air.
I have really been enjoying your channel. I don’t do ANY of this, but it is such fun to watch and cannot get enough of your builds and sharing the excitement of your maiden flights! I find myself cheering every time! I recently discovered RC aerobatics and would like to see more of that!
Nice job, J! “No planes were harmed in the making of this film”. 😉 RC flying is my “happy place”, where I go and what I do to REDUCE the stress of Everyday Life; hope the hobby has the same effect on you with your anxiety issues. 👍🏼
GREAT VIDEO GUYS!!! I'm a beginner and this video helped me a lot! I am so proud of Jeramy!!!! I live hearing about his journey! Thank you both so much!!!!!!!!
Good video , keep doing this as a mini series I'm sure many people can relate to learning like this. This is spirit of the hobby , sharing and teaching people to bring them in. The smile on Jeremy's face at the end says it all , hooked :)
alex you did a great job building the plane and i appreciate the effort you and the others put into the planes the fight test programs and flight test family also the events you run, i think its really great of you to encourage Jeremy with flying. jeremy does an awesome job with the filming building but I did not know of his anxiety and ptsd , i suffer from anxiety and major depression myself and know how hard it is to break through these barriers and try things that make you anxious, i still have problems with some things but was encouraged to try something new and with a little help by others so i tried karaoke now i love it. public speaking is very hard i dont like it but now its easier because i took up karaoke and its odd but this has made my life easier with talking to people i dont know and in public, your conquering your fear of flying and crashing them with the help of friends and actually building planes and being around them all the time is a way of looking your fear in the face and i want you to know that even though im in Australia i still would like to encourage you to keep going but if you want to stop, stop but dont give up my friend you are winning the battle by facing you fears, regards Nigel in Australia
Alex, I was able to guess what plane you were building because it is one of my original Flite Test planes and it is the plane that I have had flying the longest. Great design, so easy to fly, and very forgiving. I wish all my planes flew this well!
I tried a ready-to-fly RC airplane and it was a disaster. The Tiny Trainer is the first RC airplane I built and flew successfully. If it wasn't for Flite Test I wouldn't have gotten back into this hobby or stayed as long as I have. I need to build another Tiny Trainer!
Well done Jeremy, from one beginner(ish) to another, great job on a windy day. Now get a few crashes under your belt (even Josh does those so no pressure) because in this hobby, if you don't crash, you're not trying. :-)
Awesome job Alex and Jeremy. Thanks to the reminder and return to our basics! Loved it, built a couple of tiny trainers myself and its an awesome flyer. Seahunter
My very first plane was a Parkzone Firebird...loved it...then stepped up to a 3 ch and bought the very first Parkzone P51when they came out....big mistake as I crashed it on my first try not giving enough throttle...tip stalled rolled and crashed destroying the plane. Almost quit on the hobby but figured I could build a better plane lol...so this time I bought good quality parts for the time...Great planes Rimfire 22 m 1000 motor , silver series 12 amp esc, a 1000mah 2 cell lipo and a HiTec 4 ch controller that came with a micro 5 ch receiver and 3 HiTec g servos from my local hobby shop so was expensive...like 500.00...this was before I had a computer or could buy cheap parts online...but that was the best money ever spent...I made so many planes out of those parts and blue insulation foam......3/4 did not fly good or for long...but I learned to not only fly on my own...but how to build my own planes...which is what brought me to Flite test...wanting to learn more... As for those parts I bought...they lasted years...still have the motor but the RX,ESC and servos got killed when I did a nose dive into a pond trying to carry a half pound camera around on a 1 pound plane lol....I was filming me chasing a pack of Vultures around with the plane...the camera didn't survive ether....good times.
I have an idea for a new project! Update the tiny trainer build so that it's a pusher. Trainer characteristics are great, but everyone crashes nose first, which destroys your motor and prop. I loved learning on the Bixler because crashes were way less devastating. I think it would be challenging to design a good pusher trainer with great flight characteristics that would be cheap and easy to build, but huuuuge payoff if you manage to pull it off! Been a fan of flitetest since Josh and Josh reviewed a PNP Wildcat back in the day :) keep up the good work!
Crashes are part of the fun indeed. When you pile one into the ground and bust the airframe, that means it's time to build another plane, and building is fun.
My respects Josh, you and your team have acomplish so much, I remember your first videos on you tube. I only dream of been able to build a plane with foam boards, thanks to your example and free plans I' m building my forth airplane, I only fly one because I'm afraid of crashing. Thank you for doing all this for us, God bless you, your family and your team.
So cool! Go Jeremy! Back to basics is good. I know you’ve done it all in the past but there’s a lot of new people to the hobby - and watching 10 year old videos can feel bleh.
My hats off to both of you! Jeremy for being so honest and up front about your personal challenge. Alex you are a great teacher, keep it up! I was a bit on the fence about FliteFest OHIO this year. but this video sealed the deal. A PASSION for aviation. SHARING, TEACHING, LOVE and ACCEPTANCE. I could babble on forever, I'll just finish with..see you there.
Great episode! The Tiny Trainer reminds me of my FT Explorer, which is one of my favorite models ever. Jeremy, here’s wishing you all the best. While my personality issues have been minor (I’m on medication for low moods), I still know what it’s like to feel “not right,” and to feel helpless when dealing with it. Same with migraines... By the way, although I’ve crashed many models - FT and otherwise - I still cringe when I punch one in. :-/
I only found out about this site today. I am making foamboard air planes too. You are so cool. I'm a beginner, but I'm going to try my best . thank you the good information
This is the kind of stuff that made me love you guys from the beginning. This takes me back to Josh encouraging Josh. I need to charge some batteries and go fly my FT explorer. (I saw the clip from the original slow flying explorer episode, and it made me happy.)
I am learning the tiny trainer is my favorite. However the long ez is my first plane it’s a lot harder to fly. The trainer was a lot easier and helped me learn a lot.
i made a P-51 mustang and flew into a tree and i damaged the wing very bad and at least i had fun flying the plane and showing my flying experience and having my dad try it for fun to!
I'm definitely going to buy this when my local vendor gets a new batch in! I was set on getting the Explorer as my first plane (I fly quads), but this is cheaper to break, and just has a nice size. I have an extra FPV pack to put on there too. I'm thinking that I'll place the camera behind the wings, so that I can see the aircraft while flying. This looked like a lot of fun. I'm happy that you were able to fly this, man!
FYI, we have a "get started package" if you are interested in the Tiny Trainer as your first airplane. bit.ly/2HOLLMa
good old design, only things I'd rather see a little different is getting the elevator
"off the floor", and perhaps some vertical runners (ski's) up front to keep a prop from being easily snapped, just vertical foam board maybe 1.5" taped edge to make it slippery. BBQ skewer foam board wheel landing gear could be cool too.
Loved this video for many reasons, Jeremy will never be the same! Oh yeah, and could you guys do a video on setting up the Spektrum wireless trainer/buddy system?
Make a plane that a person can ride and than ride it
This is the package I started with. I do recommend getting the DX radio.
idea for a build. try to make a big EDF fly! like just the edf,... attach wings and a tail to the edf. edf is the fuselage. in theory it should do like mach 3 or something.
used to watch you guys years ago as a kid/teen and i had previously been into rc cars but then i started to use your guys plane kits and paper prints and now i’m going to college for aerospace engineering and i had really just wanted to thank you guys for everything you have done even though you might not realize it
That's cool
thats amazing congrats!
How is college(since its been 4 years)?
It's not anxiety ... it's excitement. Don't let the very word put you down right from the start, you're just excited for the new experience soon to come. You'll be just fine, trust me ... you excited boy.
This is a weird comment

Crashed it so many times since 2016 (especially in the beginning
) but the rear fuselage survives to this day.
Flite test is really an excellent business. The build videos are in depth, and the customer service is top notch. Speaking from personal experience.
Yeah, it's been a while - hasn't it? :)
Last week I made my first paddock landing so very happy :)
Another thing that I can see for people is how slow it seems when you first start out, hearing 8-10 weeks or longer to learn.
I am so happy to see the disclaimer regarding the Master Series. Thank you for listening to what I had to say on the forum :)
Fun!
i have anxiety also from a heart issue about 7 yrs ago and thats when i started RC the only real thing that gets me relaxed is flying , when i'm flying nothing else matters , i fly mostly FPV wings and the feeling of being in the cockpit is like no other for me , i wish you the best you can do it and dont worry about crashing its part of the hobby it can be fixed just like you !!!!
that is also what i do
i can reply to my own comment lol
I also suffer from PTSD from back in Desert Storm.

I was done.
I miss these old style videos im glad you did this. :)
I've been new in the past couple of weeks to the channel and you guys are just some cool "down to earth guys" lol. thanks for making this giant kid find a hobby I'm fast falling in love with!!
i to have PTSD and i can relate to Jeremy's situation
I'm still not sure which I like better, the building, or the flying! I've downloaded a lot of plans and built a few nice planes BUT I fear the flight because I know I'll crash it, so the tiny trainer has always been my Favorite! It's easy to build and even easier to land in one piece. Thank you Flight Test for all the fun!
Ah, relaxing and simple airplanes. Who likes them too?
I know I do.
I knew it was a Tiny Trainer when you folded the tail boom. It is also one of my favorite planes and I enjoy flying them on gentle days. Such a 'Happy little plane".
How very brave to talk about his diagnosis!! Good on you, Jeremy!
It's awesome that you guy's focused back on the tiny trainer! Long overdue. Such a great plane to get in the hobby!
Psd😂😂😂
5 paragrph essay😂
Just built a VersaWing, no motor, and been slope soaring down the beach every time the wind turns SW. 😎. Best plane ever. It is such a contrast to my other Pixhawk VTOL planes and so much fun.
Good training session. Excellent instruction. All in all a great day flying. When I learned, I had no instructor and it was a lot of trial and error. Mostly error. At least I was a private pilot so the learning curve wasn’t as bad as it could have been.
Also I feel you Jeremy for your anxiety, depression, and PTSD I have had all of those and it sucks but I hope you can overcome it
slasher death92 Same man
Depression can be overcome and PTSD can be coped with. I hope the best for Jeremy.
I came to post the same, well done for being open and admitting your fears.
@@donaldasayers thx
Thank you for sharing your story Stephen! Come out to Flite Fest one of these years and fly with us! Blue skies friend:) -alex
This kind of upset me (wiping tears now)lol. I have suffered from PTSD for years now and I relate so much to Jeremy. Even dealing with anxiety while flying to the point of becoming obsessive over it. I just wanted to say keep on keeping on brother.
I had a great time at the open house today and I can't wait to restore the awesome FT legends I got! Thank you guys again!
Please make a kayak fly! You guys are the best channel ever!
That might be a little to much but then agsin they made a tank fly
Boy do I have news for you! Guess what video just came out today hahaha!
Me too, Nam vet, PTSD and depression. RC flying has helped a BUNCH. Gets me to focus on other things. Approach the VA.
Thank you for your service. Blue skies.. -alex
RC flying is my “happy place”, where I go and what I do to REDUCE the stress of Everyday Life; hope the hobby has the same effect on you with your anxiety issues. 👍🏼
Great job, Jeremy! Great coaching, Alex!
The smile on Jeremy's face at the end says it all , hooked :)
alex you did a great job building the plane and i appreciate the effort you and the others put into the planes the fight test programs and flight test family also the events you run, i think its really great of you to encourage Jeremy with flying. jeremy does an awesome job with the filming building but I did not know of his anxiety and ptsd , i suffer from anxiety and major depression myself and know how hard it is to break through these barriers and try things that make you anxious, i still have problems with some things but was encouraged to try something new and with a little help by others so i tried karaoke now i love it. public speaking is very hard i dont like it but now its easier because i took up karaoke and its odd but this has made my life easier with talking to people i dont know and in public, your conquering your fear of flying and crashing them with the help of friends and actually building planes and being around them all the time is a way of looking your fear in the face and i want you to know that even though im in Australia i still would like to encourage you to keep going but if you want to stop, stop but dont give up my friend you are winning the battle by facing you fears,
regards Nigel in Australia
Alex, I was able to guess what plane you were building because it is one of my original Flite Test planes and it is the plane that I have had flying the longest. Great design, so easy to fly, and very forgiving. I wish all my planes flew this well!
Look at his smile man. I miss that feeling.
Hello guys I just want to say you guys have the best channel & the most fun. Thank you so much for making life fun for me.
Well done Jeremy, from one beginner(ish) to another, great job on a windy day.
Now get a few crashes under your belt (even Josh does those so no pressure) because in this hobby, if you don't crash, you're not trying. :-)
That looks so good. I've never flown despite my interest over the last 40 years or more. Maybe time to have a go. Thanks.
You can do it!
Great video Jeremy and Alex, reminded me of the early days of FliteTest before the flying toilets, tanks, tables and chairs.
I knew what you were building, I knew what you were building!
Dang, it's been a long time. I actually watch you longer than I fly RC :D
Thank you for going back to the basics! I just back into flying and I'm learning it all over again!
Probably my favorite Flite Test plane. I would really like to see a scaled up version. I hate shoving all the gear into the fuselage.
Hey Big Guy ! That was Really Cool of you to help your friend have more flying time
My hats off to both of you!
AWESOME! See you at ff! 😎
I’ve been here since 1000 subs and jut got experienced enough to build a plane and I love the content
Jeremy Your friends are your best asset, you have a great support base.

I only found out about this site today. I am making foamboard air planes too. You are so cool. I'm a beginner, but I'm going to try my best . thank you the good information
Stick with it Jeremy floating on thermals is so relaxing
