      Jordan may very well be the goat/better player. I am a person who is really neutral on that topic. I would say that just because Jordan’s opponents in the finals won a lot of regular season games doesn’t make them just as competitive as the teams Lebron’s teams lost to. I feel like no team could ever beat the warriors teams with KD on them. Period. They are the goat juggernauts and they are weak for teaming up like that but no team is touching them in any era. So if the bulls would have had a chance to beat them and did, I would feel this way about Jordan, but I know they’d get punished like Everyone else who’d try to take on the 2 best shooters ever and the best 7 footer-ish ever in KD. And yes, he may be 6’11” but he is not 6’9” lol.

Michael Jordan makes the spin move, I make the call. Phil Jackson comes off the bench and he starts giving me sh*t. I say, 'wait a second, Phil. You know as well as I do that's the spin move they're telling us to call.' And he said, 'while they might want that play called, they certainly don't want it called on him', and he pointed at Jordan who just walked by and stared at me. I got in the locker room, the other referee said, 'they want that call but don't want to on him.”

      Lightnin I don’t really think it’s that obvious or simple. Russell was an incredible player and you could argue he was the most unselfish, most team oriented player of all time. And also the greatest rebounder and defender of all time. But Wilt just dominated too much for me not to consider him better. The fact is Russell played with better teammates and Wilt still took the Celtics to elimination games on multiple occasions. Wilt was a far better scorer, lead the league in rebounds more, played almost as good of defense, and even lead the league in assists one season, something no Center had ever done. And I believe that season the Sixers won 68 games, so it’s not like he was just doing it to stat pad, it actually lead to a really good winning record. Wilt holds more statistical records than anyone in history, while being a 2 time champion, a 4 time MVP, a Finals MVP, a 7 time scoring champion, ASG MVP, and won one of his MVPs as a rookie. Don’t mistake me for disrespecting Russell because I’m not. He’s the GOAT defender and was the most unselfish player in history. But Wilt was just different

      @codygraham2362 4 года назад +3

      Kenma Tong you automatically get excluded from the conversation when you say how many rings😂 that is the most garbage argument ever. Plus no teams were made to beat MJ like they were against LeBron plus the NBA was easier back then everyone wants to say it wasn’t but it was considering the fact that a teams average points per game has gone down by almost 10 ppg is saying something. Plus the playbook was made for Jordan so he could take on these Plummer’s 1 on 1 cause of illegal defense so everyone would either have to commit to the double team on Jordan or hope the man on him can stay in front of him. The league was so easy back then and every one tries to say this league is a cupcake league but look at Jordan against the bad boy Pistons he got soooo many questionable fouls that went his way but the league was sooo aggressive back then please. Then when people say LeBron would be nobody in that league are flat out wrong if anything he’d be better cause he could just iso the entire time like Jordan did. Jordan was a great scorer but that’s all I give him. He was a great defensive player against a weak league of SG’s. Notice how when Kobe and AI came in they made him look like a fool yeah I get he’s old but LeBron is old too and had to carry a sorry Cavs team for years. Old heads can’t move on and the NBA gives everyone else the MVP to save Jordan’s legacy the NBA is sorry for that.

Jumaine Jones could not take the ball from him. JJ would lunge to grab it and MJ would move it a foot in one direction or another. This went on for around 20 seconds. Then Jordan and scored while the Cleveland arena booed its own player and cheered on Michael Jordan for embarrassing him. I don't think I'll ever see anything like this in professional sports again.

Instead of raw statistics he manipulated it in a way to make Jordan’s stats look better… there were far better small forwards in league history then SG who mainly had just Kobe, AI, and Wade who even Lebron was better at almost everything then them… Lebron has to compete with people like KD who arguably the best scorer of all time which rules scoring, Larry bird, erving, kawahi, PG, melo, etc… all players with crazy stats in certain categories, if Jordan was switched to small forward position he’d be lower, but even if that isn’t enough he didn’t even take in account coach’s play these positions differently, or the fact Lebron plays point guard a lot of his career, you’re supposed to compare stats… no matter the position, Lebron is a better rebounder, shot blocker, assist maker, better raw shooting percentage, and slightly behind in points per game. He also bashed on Lebron in Jordan’s winning categories while going easy on Jordan in the one Lebron won. Worst of all this idiot said physicals don’t matter in goat talk🤦🏽‍♂️ that might be the stupidest take I’ve ever heard, he was clearly biased

      Jordan without the Bulls would not be so successful, since the Chicago squad was much above average for the time ... First to start with the bank, where Kukok in 1996 won the sixth league man award, Lebron never had one privilege on your team. Another positive aspect was that Horace Grant was an excellent bouncer, soon afterwards Roodman, simply one of the greatest bouncers in history, again Lebron never had such a privilege on his team. Finally, Jordan had one of the greatest technicians in history (Phil Jackson), and once again, Lebron never had the privilege of acting alongside a technician of this size.
      In short, Lebron James is the best player in NBA history, precisely because he managed to win the league with a coach called Tyroon Lue and players like Mozgov, Dellavedova, Shumpert and Mo Williams, then I ask you !!!! There is but won because the other side the team was weak !!! And the answer is no !!!!
      It was one of the greatest teams in the history of the league, which came from a record of only 9 losses in the season, the Warriors. Mano Lebron is the G.O.A.T

      Lebron went to the finals 9 times and won 3 so he lost 6 times. Lebron is the #1 player in the NBA today, but he is not better than Jordan. Jordan was 6 for 6 and he didnt have to convince other superstars to play on his team to help him Win like Lebron did for his 3 rings. As Lebron gets older the GOAT argument will fade.
      Lebron ran the 40 in 4.6 secs, Jordan ran the 40 in 4.38 secs.
      Result= Jordan is faster!
      Lebron has a vertical leap of 40", Jordan has a vertical leap of 48". Result= Jordan can jump much higher!
      Fun Factor: The most amazing dunks were from Jordan, not Lebron.
      Jordan backed the talk by competing in the dunk contest and winning! Lebron was afraid to enter yet he released teaser videos showing he was a great dunker but he was afraid to compete in the dunk contest b/c if he lost it would be another check off the list showing Lebron was not as good as mike.
      Jordan is a better free throw shooter at .835%, Lebron is .735%.
      Jordan is better at stealing the ball than Lebron.
      Jordan has a career 3.1 steals per game, Lebron has 2.2 steals per game so Jordan steals the ball almost .3 times more per game!
      Lebron turns the ball over more than Jordan. Jordan had a career turnover of 9.3%, Lebron had 13.1%.
      Jordan scores more points per game then Lebron with a career avg of 30.1 its per game, Lebron has 25.7 per game.
      There are many career stats that ppl prematurely compare such as career shooting %, career assists, player efficiency, and all other "career" statistics, but those stats can't be compared yet b/c Lebron is still playing. His career stats will drop as he gets older and he becomes less productive. Jordans stats include his later years so wait for Lebrons stats to include his later years as well.
      Career points Lebron has a slightly higher accuracy of .504% compared to Jordans .497%, but remember Lebrons career % will drop as he gets older, and if you want to accurately calculate how good of a shooter Lebron is you have to remember more than ⅓ of Lebrons 2 point scores (.360) are from 3' away or closer indicated his shooting skills are padded with lay ups so his career accuracy does not demonstrate he is a superior shooter. If you compare stats based solely on shots from outside the paint at 10'-16' out Jordan has a %.446 and Lebron has .386%. From 16' out or more Jordan has .453% and Lebron is .386 so career % Jordan is a better shooter when you break down the numbers and remove the layups and put backs. Also those stats don't show the same difficulty Jordan faced since hand checking was allowed on perimeter shooters which now just gives Lebron 2 easy free throws. Jordan was usually double or triple covered b/c he didnt have other superstars on his team like D Wade, Chris Bosch, Ray Allen, Kyrie Irving, Kevin Love, or Anthony Davis. Don't even try to say Scottie Pippen was a superstar, he was a good player who played better b/c he had more opportunities since opposing defenses were focused on Jordan. If Pippen wasnt on the same team as Jordan no one would remember him today.
      Lebron will reach some higher numbers than Jordan, but not b/c he is better, but b/c he played more years. Jordan played 14 full seasons while Lebron has already played 17 and is still going. Lebron got 3 more years when he skipped college and 5 more years bc he didnt retire and return 2x during his prime. Jordan wasn't thinking about Lebrons stats, but Lebron's goal was to beat Jordans stats from his 1st day in the NBA when he wore Jordans #23.
      Imagine if things were reversed and Jordan played AFTER Lebron retired. Imagine Jordan wearing Lebrons number, skipping college and going straight to the NBA. We all know Jordans numbers would be even bigger if he was trying to beat Lebrons records.
      There is no doubt if Jordan came after Lebron, played more years in the NBA, and was focused on beating Lebrons stats he would, but Jordan got where he is by being the best, not by focusing just on stats.

      Lori Schreiber Dont forget the fact that Jordan did more in less time than LeBron did over a span of a LONNNG career. Took LeBron over a decade to receive half the amount of success Jordan did. Also Jordan has more championships with less points scored. Jordan also has a close number of career points scored to LeBron in a much shorter crunch of time which makes him even more impressive. I’d like to see someone compare LeBrons total points vs Jordan when LeBron was at the same amount of time played when Jordan retired.

    • @turntogod4410
      @turntogod4410 4 года назад +3

      Lori Schreiber I just calculated it. It’s 31,038 to MJ’s 32,292. Less points, with less to show for, with less awards, with less fg%, less efficiency, less defensive stats, younger than MJ, softer league, despite being physically bigger, whoever created the LeBron GOAT argument is part of a cult it’s not even CLOSE Jordan belongs in his own category

    • @turntogod4410
      @turntogod4410 4 года назад +2

      Lori Schreiber let’s not also forget the fact that if Jordan and LeBron actually competed on an NBA level he would probably make LeBron cry no exaggeration. LeBron couldn’t even handle the rough fouls of the 80s / early 90s he would’ve folded and his team would have faded away into the darkness. Who does LeBron get to trash talk in this era pip squeak steph curry?😂😂give me a break Jordan would have mentally dismantled LeBron and make him question his own existence, prove it, then demolish him leaving nothing left but Jordan’s dominance over him. That’s how he destroyed his opponents. Informed them that they were inferior, then destroyed them while they were under mental distress over the fact that Jordan had the mental edge over them.

      Finally someone with a logic and a brain. This is the most accurate way to distinguish both. In his early career and reaching his first Conference finals, all Jordan wanted was to be up there with the best of his time like Larry and Magic. I would always argue that his desire to win is unparalleled. To retire in your prime and almost reach MLB for about 18 months just shows his mentality. What I like the most is MJ stayed loyal and he was pivotal in building a dynasty. He started with a bottom feeder team and because of him, they build this legacy.

To my surprise the reporter asked him why he didn't take more three spoint shots and MJ's response was that he didn't prioritize getting better at it cause he believes it takes away from his game which is to drive or pull up J within the perimeter. Jordan was legit so good that he could afford to play with his food like that. Just about every player in today's game would prefer to take threes over how he played. Is that a bad thing? I personally think it's less fun to watch, but it makes sense from a technical perspective: three is more than two, and it's pretty easy for NBA players to make that shot. Kinda crazy that Jordan didn't even want to excel at it because of how much he loved a good challenge.
