Once, I overpowered a tiny PC fan (30 mm or so) with 18 volts from two 9 volt batteries, then when I tried it again on 9 volts afterwards (holding the wires together in my fingers), the wire I was holding went yellow-hot and burned the living shit out of me. Lesson learned.
Thanks! some of my videos will be coming with a little extra from here on out, I've bought a slow-motion camera that also can do full HD videos at 1920x1080.
lol i had to stop 52 seconds in shortly after the fan starts moving...he says lets see if we can blow these fans or make em catch fire or smoke and they are sitting on the carpet lol thats safe haha lets keep watching
Its not volts that kills... its Amps! I do wear glasses yes, and those tiny fans don't have the power to cut the skin on my fingers trust me.. i've accidently stopped the blades on 80mm fans with a finger when they were running and it makes you jump but it never has cut me... it just stalls the fan.
@@HL4EHalfLife I want to make one cuz My DC power supply is mess up. When I turn it on the voltage goes up to 60v, then goes down to 0. I turn the knob nothing. The problem could be the MOSFET I think.
Man i need your help pls :D I have a identical first fan of the video, but a few days ago i tried to conected to a phone charger(12v) and then the fan is stopped and putt stiff can repair or something???
+Pranay Das If its a DC adapter you can but don't forget that it puts out 15v @ 500mA, your fan only draws 160mA at max so the adapter will probably be putting out 17 to 22volts.
You can get shocked by high volts and live IF the amps is very low (if i recall from an episode of mythbusters its 60ma), so i'll say it again its amps that stops the heart not volts.
I had a 12v fan that I ran on 54v with basically a giant chain of nine volts and it worked perfectly fine :P It would go quick then slow down then stop if you let it sit for a minute it would work again xD
I have one like that, I think it's the old FSB cpu fan that look like a single slot GPU. I have one inside my classic white-themed retro PC. Edit: The RAM is DDR1, made by Hyundai lol
Doesn't 50V DC kill you easily? You don't seem to think of any body protection. Do you wear glasses? What if the rotor suddenly becomes lose when you reach your hand for it? Have fun with the injury lol Even 2000rpm can really open your finger.
try a noctu fan 140mm fan the motors are rated for 30volts but it would be interesting but 140mm would move alot more air than a bunch of 120mm deltas at 45volts so it would be interesting to see a noctu fan at 100volts probably take off lol
I think the ADDA fan cheated. it had High Pro Bering. More like High Pro Balls Of Steel. Still 4x it's normal voltage. It sounded like a F1 engine. Next time take the RPMS to... LLol..
@@HL4EHalfLife I like this video. Can you do more pls :D, When I get My DC power fix Soon, maybe I'm gonna do a DC motor flight test Video I have a QW-MDS305D DC POWER SUPPLY I brought it on ebay for about 80 bucks and I pay 9 dollars for the shipping. The rated output voltage is 0-30v and the rated output for amps is 0-5A
no, I will not trust you on this one. :D I've badly cut my fingers several times on, granted, they were 120mm/140mm and 180mm fans. However they didn't spin above 3000 like the one in the video. But I'd believe a 80mm fan at 6000rpm produces the same power. You can be lucky if the blades are crappy. (not sharp - loud/bad airflow) I believe a plasic 140mm even cut almost half my fingernail once..(damn sharp blades) speaking of they don't have power.
I'd still like to see what would happen if the fan ran on AC. Does AC work like a PWM for the fan in a way that it wants to move, but isn't really spinning up? Or does it not move at all?
why is he doing this on a carpet
ugh

The wire went yellow hot likely because the motor got blown and started short circuiting
The first fan really didn't wanna give up that special power. V TEC
-Shut it down!!!

God I miss this game.
haf lyfe!??!/?!/!?!??/1?!?/1/??1

Yeah, that is his DC Generator.

Well those larger fans store alot more kinetic energy than those tiny ones i blewup.
The ADDA blew at 48.5 O___O tough little fan. ADDA FOR THE WIN :-D
Gotta credit the first intel tho definitely close second
at 90k rpm^^
About 4x its rated voltage! Impressive.
I need to find that fan but I don't know which computer tho.

@@CRAIG86 It's a Canon PowerShot SX240XS
What the hell are you doing it on carpet for you know that stuff is flammable right
Can you make a vid of your dc generator in action? (I think that is the one that makes the jet engine like sound)

+HL4EHalfLife where do I get that power supply thing

I could use this as a jet engine
If the blades are sharp I believe they will cut in your finger.
Never saw plastic fans being that sharp that they can cut in your finger though.
I had one that was that sharp, it wasn't fun. I have a huge scar on my finger from that
Yes i did, the same generator thatwas in another one of my videos.
can you do that at PC motherboards?
considering those fans will ran at max 12 volts im shocked they got as high as they did
noctu fans are rated for 30volts so double the voltage might be over 40volts
what is the model of that ADDA Fan? that was a strong fan
Same I want 10 of them.
lol i had to stop 52 seconds in shortly after the fan starts moving...he says lets see if we can blow these fans or make em catch fire or smoke and they are sitting on the carpet lol thats safe haha lets keep watching
Most fans stop at 20v that was impressive it survived 10 more volts from the average
It would be good if there was an ammeter so you could see the stupid increase in current when the ic pops
my old Pentium 4 pc fan would make this sound while i play gta :D
Last fan survived 100v That thing is a champion of voltage survival
