i had i 12v computer fan so i had the bright idea to run it on 54 volts xD it ran really good for about 30 seconds then i would have to unplug the chain of nine volt batteries i made and let it cool down for a bit :P
@@4TheRecord He's right though. It works for me to air cool my phone which I sometimes need to do, and all it takes is a small fan with foam blades which works fine but a small desk fan like the one on my nightstand is preferably more efficient and effective
You should build a box using four bower fans out of HVAC air handlers. Those will work wonders as they build air pressure in the box and would get that generator to really crank out some volts! :-) Try to find ones out of gas furnaces as they normally run at 120 Volts vs 220 Volts.
I had 3 of those but down to 1 now as they weren't being used and took up a lot of space and the one I still got I modded it to use with a 2 speed 1/2hp 1725rpm motor and yes it does put out a fair amount of air but on low speed (1140rpm)the amps are 7.31 and on high speed (1725rpm) the amps are 8.94 and I can tell yea right away the CFM on high speed is no where's near what the fanbox is putting out and at less amps.
You're almost to 10k subscribers. Wow! I subscribed your channel. It's been a while you haven't posted videos. I want to see more of equipment autopsy videos. Stay safe!
Ur fan box im just gonna make an suggestion here ur fan box if u want to generate more electricity u could try switching out ur original blade in to more blades so it could run faster and generate more electricity then u go figure out and idea of installing a transformer but 1 thing if u install a transformer it will slow down the motors RPM u should know this cause u have been destrying motors in this way
Love it. Cool project! I am guessing the large fan in the top is for a generator you're using to power the single, external fan? What was the original use of the top fan generator?
Imagine a wire or something getting stuck in of one of these, triggering other wires and parts to go loose and getting stuck into each other. Would love to see that on camera :'D
i put 2 tiny IC fans together in series with a 12v p.s., and mounted them into a box, added a filter at one end, and it works quite well in collecting/ drawing in fine sawdust when i sand and carve my wooden sculptures. isn't spectacular, but it helps keep the dust from flying all over the place- better than nothing!! any ideas to upgrade/improve on this? BTW, nice setup!
just grab a box fan and a furnace air filter from walmart and tape around the edges of the filter (filter on intake side) and tape the front corners to prevent backflow
You can't really overload those powerful fans with just air pressure, as for replacing one you just take the 4 screws out, un solder the 2 wires and swap it for a new one.
Ralph Ooi The video is 1080p, I don't know why you don't have or see the 1080p option. but all my videos are done in 1080p now (except for slow motion vids).
Is it by any means possible that you could send me some fans? They dont have to be good, me and my friend often time like to experiment with them to try to make small and slim portable cooling systems.
What are the lights inside for I tried to comment come by back from our beach c do at pinnacle port in PCB Florida it for some reason it would it let me access the comments but it would let me access the video but again what are the lights for?
HL4EHalfLife Mine is on a sheet of plywood I lay on the floor in my garage. Or when on extra special occasions on the pool table in the unfinished basement. yeah I have the same problem. Too much shit to small of a bag. But it's myyyy shit. I never through anything out.
And with that, i could make a fanbox micro. Runs of 3 9v batteries and fits in your backpack. Great for geeks who like technology just for fun :) thats me
I do too lol and that would have given me much more control over the airflow but I simply don't have 100+ switches nor do I have the room to place them anddd the amount of wiring that would have to be done..
Power supplies are designed to maintain a stable voltage as the load increases, there is a very slight voltage drop (-0.10v~) but not enough to effect the fans.
Recuerdo que me encantaba ver videos de ventiladores asi que esto era mi rumba cuando era chiquito xd. me sigo preguntando porque el ventilador de arriba (el grande) hace ese ruido de alarma bien raro
Hi! im collecting fan too for fan. so u have this feeling when u see a computer fan (not shitty ac fan) too? how do u get all those fans? i got around 40 but u got like 150 XD
Yea kinda lol, I just like messing around with them. I do have some that are AC but for the most part I only want DC fans. What you see in the video is only a small fraction of the fans I have, I plan to make a video sometime soon showing my massive collection hehe.
0__0 well it looks like you have a very good memory sir for the fact that you can pick that out of the video and even be able to name it down to the numbers
What's the point of most inventions. It's for other people to see and come up with ideas of how to use it. One example could be a ventilation system. Now it would be expensive to use as a full time system but you could have one that is connected to smoke and gas detectors so that the alarms act as a switch turning on all the fans and of course the top of the fan having a pipe which runs to a hole in the wall, you wouldn't have to have the same size pipe as the fan so a smaller typical ventilation pipe would do half the size. This would suck smoke and gas into it and out of your home.
HL4EHalfLife yeah know, just at some point i thought you turned then all on, but you continued turning more and more on i couldn't believe how loud it was, btw great job!
now you can experience a hurricane in the comfort of your own home with the fanbox
HAHA good one dude! but don't forget with the fanbox mini you can upgrade to a category 5 hurricane :D

finally something that will cool down overclocked 1080 xD
This is _FAN_ tastic! I see your a _FAN_ of fans.
You see that his _what_ is a "fan of fans"?
Holy shit how fast is that top fan spinning
The fan on top of the fanbox sounds like an airplane jet engine shutting down
sounds like an AMD graphics card
Lol.
That really make me laugh! it also sounds like a phenom.
Hey
@Tài xế Phạm this comment was from 7 years ago and it was true back then! I still use an Nvidia GPU, but I have an AMD CPU which I love

You should stick a hotdog in the blades while the big fan is running at 24000 rpm

ok and?
The biggest fan sounds like a jet landing
Is this for an overclocked AMD Processor?

man you should do it with the blozookas (nicknamed) check out linus tech tips about them

Is that a computer i see in there? If it is... You are overkilling overkill with this.
If one were to place a motherboard inside this machine would it be more effective than liquid cooling?
This is art.

Are you able to tell me all the model numbers of all the Delta fans you used? Thanks! :P
P.S I LOVE DELTA!!!
Why do you want to know all the delta model numbers in the box?
The video is only 720p, not 1080p. I just want to know so I can find out the CFM.

is that metal fan a whole house fan or an exhaust fan?
Whats the point of a massive box with like a thousand fans hooked up to it
@HL4EHalfLife temps?
How much is ur electric bill, dude?
so if I got this right, this is a bunch of fans sucking air out of a box to power a generator, to power another fan. right? lol
No, The fans are pulling air into the box and out the top and the panaflo its powering is just a demonstration.
ohh ok cool. I thought they were blowing out.
Well I did try having the fans suck air into the top and out the sides a few years ago but it didn't do as well as this configuration.
now all you need is a fanbox giant what you can get inside and experience a hurricane
LOL, that would be awesome!
Or something like the anti-gravity testing facility in goat simulator.
so a huge amount of hours put in dis for ???? what does it used to that boX?
You need 120mm fan
have you ever gotten a 140mm fan to 6.000 rpm?
Do you need this wehn your meal is too hot ?
i would have add a single switch ofr each fan just for fact that i love flipping switches :P
