What does it mean when it says partner below the doctors name?

It means that the doc is a partner in the practice. Doesn't just work there.

I have to say the doctors in England are thoroughly backwards when it comes to the treatment of hyperactivity and ADD disorder is like the poor young man coming in for a refill on a prescription. The assumption the doctor was making was this was a psychological condition and that counseling and so forth could be helpful, but there’s a clear lack of understanding. This is a malfunction in the brain chemicals, which is physiologic and nature, and not psychological, and the man is sitting there saying he was high functioning in a masters degree program and he ran out of this medication allows him to focus and she’s talking about addressing depression and stress and why don’t you do that for just diabetes then which is also a biochemical malfunction that requires actual physical medicine to manage and you don’t tell those people to take some stress exercises and talk to people about their problems. that’s actually horrific and the amphetamine that’s used for ADD treatment is so inexpensive. It’s practically like a dollar level medicine even in the United States and it’s extremely effective and that was a very shameful bad appointment for that man. You could see it in his eyes.

Regular MDs, even in the States do not treat ADD.

I have ADHD and take prescribed amphetamines for the condition. A GP in a walk-in clinic cannot diagnose ADHD, and they can’t prescribe based off of a prescription from another country. Amphetamines are a restricted drug due to the potential for misuse, particularly in college students. Before a doctor prescribes amphetamines, they need to get a thorough history on the patient, send the patient for cardiac testing, and see the patient in follow-up appointments.
