Though I like MK's queue better, the float through the bayou is a great trade off. And I do like the burning wood effect right before the shootout. Plus one more drop too. Thanks 4K.

Hi. I am thankful you made this video and shared with us.
In 1970 and early 1971, I was stationed at the Naval Station in San Diego. On Saturdays, a bus went to Disneyland and back, and allowed us to visit the park. I recall how much I liked that version of Pirates.
Fast forward to 2007 when I began going to Walt Disney World on a yearly basis. While I love the Pirates ride in the Magic Kingdom, it does not compare to the atmosphere that I enjoyed so much at Disneyland.
Things I liked at the Disneyland version included:
1. The bayou portion at the beginning, as well as the look across the water to the restaurant (which I once ate at)
2. The multiple drops
3. The longer ride duration
4. The portion between the jail and the end
I love WDW, especially Epcot, but DO NOT UNDERSTAND why they would water down Pirates at the Magic Kingdom, especially considering the amount of land available for construction (vs. the small amount of land for Disneyland).
I would enjoy everyone's thoughts on this.

Marc Davis had designed “Western River Expedition “, but when WDW opened, this ride hadn’t been built because of the cost. Originally, they had no plans to replicate Pirates as they felt Floridians would be bored with the idea and would prefer something western. Long story short, guest demand for Pirates led to the thrown together version in MK placed in Adventureland and the Western River project was never built (Splash and BTM occupy that larger space in Frontierland). It was a rushed job unfortunately.
That is so cool Ken! I’m glad you have such wonderful memories and experiences from over the years. I read the same thing that Tinker Shell mentioned here. It is a shame that they rushed the MK one and didn’t make it like the one at Disneyland, but I’m glad we ended up getting one since we almost didn’t! Thanks for watching as always!

My favorite ride in Disneyland and any park. I ride it 3 times in a row at rope drop. No talking through the Bayou scene! 😄 Love eating at the Blue Bayou 💙 Beautiful video!

Thank you Amy! Yes, that is the Blue Bayou restaurant! This Pirates is definitely much better than the one in MK, at least in my opinion! It’s crazy how the Disneyland version is about 2x longer than ours! Not sure why they had to make the MK version so short. Thanks for watching as always and Happy Valentine’s Day to you as well!

Yes, not only is it about 2x longer but it truly is much better compared to the MK version in my opinion. But I still love ours here no matter what! Thanks for watching as always!
My first and favourite ride in Disney Land. Almost worth a trip to LA all by itself -- well, PotC and In n Out Burger! ;-)

I'd hoped you'd START by showing this 1st🤩 because it's going down for refurb next month-you not filming this is like a crime against humanity. Did you hear those 2 shade trees in the front are going away-hope they replant mature trees back. Don't want Calif to be like Toyland lol! Oh yes, I had to get this one filmed for sure! It really sucks that the MK one didn’t get cloned to be like the Disneyland version. I did hear about the trees being removed. I actually found out from a cast member at the park who I talked to! It’s a shame for sure. I would have used Lightning lane for this one, but they don’t offer it! A lot of the rides don’t have LL at the park. I also tried to get a reservation for Blue bayou but couldn’t get one unfortunately. Thanks for watching as always Liz!

Oh wow. I had no idea they had the same ride in Disneyland as they do in Disneyworld. Hopefully, they didn't make the same changes due to political pressure.
It's not technically the same ride. The one at Disneyland is twice as long as the one in Disney World and more drops. Also, they already made changes to from the bride auction to the female pirate.
Whats politics got to do with amusent rides?
