Great video Jason. We re-use tumble dryer water for fish that essentially is close to distilled, with a TDS of around 15. Anything out of the taps in my area is about 400.

Fluval stratum also leeches ammonia. I replaced my potting mix with fluval stratum and the day after my ammonia was at 5.0ppm. It also needs to sit for a while.

How about TDS after putting soil? TDS before putting into the tank should be about 130, but after putting in the tank, due to the soil, the TDS will be higher. How much does it have to be? Mine is about 250. Is it normal or do I have to lower it down?

when keeping 10 or less shrimp i prefer to keep them in a 2.5 or 3gallon..
in tanks i use Fluval i find it hard to maintain good PH levels. id never use it for caridinia but would use it for Neos.. i get ph around 7.0 but sometimes i find very bio active tanks at 8.5 with fluval
Amazonia v2 can easily achieve 6.0 PH.. most my tanks i use that are about 5.6

hey I bought seiryu stone and im setting up my caradina tank. RCS. im using ada Amazonia as my substrate, I plan to put some wood as well.
will the stone leach to much KH and fluctuate the ph to much ? or is this stone rather inert? I do see some white lines running through it which are calcium? should I just scrap the stone all together and scape with just wood?
