Schaaf has a special place in his heart for Triumphs and we couldn't be happier about it
The guy is an average rider. Any experienced rider will know.
@@Chris-vq5vr i would say he’s a fairly experienced rider….
@@Chris-vq5vr How do you know then?
@@Virtualmix look at how he performs U-Turns. Look at his gear shifting.
Inexperienced

I just got one of these last month! It’s the most organic and alive bike I’ve ever owned! What a noise!
+1 for the overall look of the bike at the end! Great vid schaaf
Man….I’m 81 years old …and I just relived my youth….!
That is great!
Love everything about this video! The bike, the road, and your riding style. No showboating, just enjoying the symbiosis of rider and bike.
Thanks David
Wouuuuhouuuuu ! I was so eager to listen to one of your [RAW] on this bike and the dream came true ! Thanks a lot :)
Awesome!
i love the way how Schaaf makes his finest RAW´s :)
thanks mate! Thanks as well for the recent comment in which you pointed out a little Speedo mistake I did ;)
@@Schaaf ❤
I got a 2019 Speed Twin. This summer I drove from Stuttgart Germany to Sardegna ITALY. It was a amazing Germany Adventure. I packed it fully with my Mosko Moto Reckless set. I think everybody would say it’s the wrong motorcycle for such a trip.. but I loved it.. after this trip I bought a brand new Africa twin Adventure Sport ERA DCT. It’s the best for Adventure bike I would say. And i can drive this much faster. But the Speed Twin it’s a amazing machine. I can recommend this for everybody, even for newer riders. Schaaf du hast den besten Motorrad Channel mach weiter so ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️ Lg Grüße aus Stuggi
The speed twin sounds soooo good. An amazing bike!!! Gretchen Video, thanks.🙏
thanks mate
My bike! I've been waiting for this forever.
Awesome!
Have one in same color and just love this little nimble bike. It's competely stock not going to change anything. Been the best bike I have ever had this far.
Stock is perfect!
Right on!
One of the best sounding bikes in a while
Thanks
These triumph have a great distinctive sound. Both going fast and cruising they sound great.
Definitely!
Thx 🙏🏻… such a wonderful & complete classic looking bike, nothing appears cheap, the sound & throttle response (even smoother in the rain mode without loosing the torque/ power ☝🏻) is great, just the stand is a bit tricky.
Well, definitely one of my favourite “must-have-one-day” 🤩✨👍🏻
Thanks
Perfect sound! My dream bike! 😍
Thanks
Cool pitstop and a very pretty bike. But you know what I liked most in this video? Rev matching! There's just something about them. Sooo addictive! To me, twins sounds brilliant in touristic pace :)
thanks a lot Gokul!! I sometimes feel like I'm forgetting how to rev-match properly since I ride so many bikes with quickshifters...but then a bike like this Speed Twin comes along :D
@@Schaaf It feels good to ride bikes like these from time to time, doesn't it? It's good fun :)
#RevMatchingIsLife
Am I the only one who loves to hear the sound of a bike picking up from the higher gear at a lower speed.😅
No, you're not the only one. I love it too
Man I love my Speed Twin, it always puts a smile on my face.
Nice!
Man, that brings back memories. Some of these scenes look like where i used to ride when i was stationed in Germany in the late 80's. The back roads east of Heidelberg around a little town called Neckargemund.
That motorcycle sounds amazing! And thank you for capturing the sound the best you could.
Please also a POV of Honda CB1100.
Thanks
I have the same bike in this colour. You're bang on with your assessment.
Hello again, Schaaf! A great video once again! I've been mostly away from the channel for a while, but I'm really glad to see you're doing well, and still making great videos. I was just curious what the status of the Little Honda has been. It's been a long time since we've seen it, and I don't remember seeing anything about you getting rid of it, so I hope she's doing well.
Welcome back! I'll never sell the CB. But I unfortunately can't take the time to revitalize her and get her through MOT. Maybe one day...
amazing exhaust!!!
Schaaf macht einfach die Besten Sound vids. 👍👍👍🔊👍👍👍❤️
danke!!
Love your style, dude. It's funny when I go into "touring" mode I actually feel so much faster (sitting bolt upright, not hanging off the bike, etc) it makes turns feel faster to me because I'm not so hard on the brakes into them. Great riding, @schaaf !
Thanks a lot!!
hello, a video that I have been waiting for a long time with a sick son, I really appreciate that you were trying the mv augusta brutal/dragster 800 rr it is a complicated motorcycle to find but so incredible! Thanks !
thanks
wohoo Schaaf covers the Speed Twin :)
even I have a sv1000 N .. which is awesome, this Speed Twin eventually will end up in my garage as well.
Its such a beauty...
Now this is what I like! Lovely twin sound, and a beautiful classic design. And you actually have to blip the throttle on downshifts, unlike a lot of those spaceship bikes, which is something I prefer. Thank you for the video!
BTW, do you still have the CB?
Thanks! Yes!
@@SchaafI just bought a Speed Twin 900 and moved up from a KLX300SM. How fucked am I? I rode it home, but I’m nervous about it’s ability to go from here to GONE in a split second.
@@b226tj what do you mean
@@flesz_ I meant it as a “Did I move up too quickly”? But now I’ve actually scraped the exhausts on the SpTwin. Lovely bike. Wouldn’t recommend for most inexperienced teenage riders though.
Der Sound, das Handling und die knackige Schaltung ist einfach göttlich.... musste mich nach meiner Probefahrt zusammenreissen, dass ich sie nicht mitgenommen habe 🤣
kann ich bestens nachvollziehen!
Got one in March……just sublime, especially in the Stealth Red colours
Nice driving and beautiful bike.
Best bike of Triumph's modern classics. So much fun to ride
Agreed
Man I love your videos, it helps so much, and the fact that you write your opinion without talking, I can literally use those as background music when I work. Thank you for that.
Awesome! Thanks for letting me know
Sure sounds good! Great review!
Thanks Pete
I’m about to buy a speed twin 900 , my trident is great , but I have fallen in love with a stealth edition ST900 😍
Yes!!! Endlich! Mein Wunsch ist in Erfüllung gegangen!
freut mich!
Watching videos like these I always wonder if riders like Schaaf aren't afraid that their front tire will just randomly slide out in a corner on some sand or pebbles or something. When I ride my bike, in every corner I'm scared that it will just slide out from under me. I admire the courage and confidence that riders such as Schaaf have 😅
It doesn't happen that fast, maybe u will have a little slip and wobble, if dont overact in that moment the bike will most likely catch it self.
Dont hang on to tight and let the bike work.
@@Rideitlikeustoleit idk I've seen videos of it on RUclips it looks really sudden... 😕 I just try to ride within my own limits and the limits of my tires of course 😇
...sounds like mothers heartbeat...adorable bike...well done vale! :)
Daunk da, bester Onkel
Nice sound! Mag-gnifico!
Sounds great!
Thanks
This machine is growing on me
Sold my Yamaha Tracer 9GT yesterday (24 aug 23) and am now the proud owner of a black Triumph Speed Twin 1200…. The best part is the SOUND!!!
Almost bought an Indian FTR 1200 though with a slip on, but the engine is Too uncivilised and made me all shaky
Nice!
Man, that Triumph sound never gets old
thanks
Sounds good ❤️❤️
Thanks
Hi man, I just bought one a couple of months ago. I did find the rear suspension lacking, in less than favourable road surfaces. I fitted YSS shocks to the rear and now it feels planted rather 'pogoing', they also match the front Marzocchi front end well. Totally agree, the riding style is all about the delicious Torque.
FYI...... I recently had to go to Bangkok, which was about 38*C and combined with the heat from the engine, it was unbearable, I couldn't hug the tank and had to ride with my legs apart. I had the CAT removed, which helped a bit with the heat....definitely the 'hottest bike' I've ever ridden.......Rubber side down bud
Nice!!
Hi Schaaf, great video as usual, Do you like the footpegs placement in the interceptor 650 or the speed twin?
Wowowowowowowowow!!! Being a big fan of the big old air cooled 270 degree ptwin's i love any video's on these bikes!! Apart from that awesome v8-ish sound the whinning of the transmission is also awesome!! I also have a Continental GT 650. Sounds great. Lovely Video Schaff!! Any chance you can ride a Continental?? Maybe a baby Thruxton? hahaha
Glad you like them! I rode the Interceptor which sounds the same ;)
Amazing and lovely soundIIII I want a RE Interceptor 650!!! Saludos desde Guanajuato, Méxicooouuu!!!
Nice!!
Oh, I hear the engine and immediately got pulled back in time when I did a testride. Since then I can’t get this bike out of my head.
Nice work mate. I like this bike. I’m not sure I’m ready to give up my speed triple, yet! But it’s on my mind.
Thanks mate
😂 Same feeling here !
Awesome bike! Looks, sound, torque... Everything appears top notch. I don't know if 6 feet rider is cramped on it or not, but it really looks to be fantastic bike.
Im 6 feet tall and it fits me well!
@@NicePantsLance thanks
Thanks
No nareszcie!!!

Lovely bike and sound. I also love the way your filming is so smooth. Do you have any tips on the camera mount setup?
thanks
Very interesting test and impressions about the bike. This bikes leave us a bitter taste after riding them because it compels to ride it faster but after 160kmh the power is gone. The end comes too soon. The lack of any wind protection also confirms that limited feeling. When I have ridden this bike on national roads it felt perfect. But once on the highway I quickly achieved its limits. These Bonneville family of Triumph, each one at their own way, are a lot attractive due to several aspects, not only for it but including the classic overall design and also for the technical modern features involved, like the actual 1200cc engine (high torque , liquid cooled) with its different mappings which is a winning bet from the manufacturers part.
Thanks for the comment Brito!
Hi Schaaf, how do you exactly mount your gopro ? Im about to go crazy with mine tho.. cant get the angle correct.
Your way of Zoom works sooo smooth, really appreciate the tip tbh. Can you please also help with the mount too ?
lovely
Thanks once more
Best looking retro, the 900 version is very good on the road too and great vfm👍
Thanks Ian
If fast or slow, the sound is great, just as the video.
Thanks
Hey Schaaf, wieder mal ein super Video! Unterscheidet sich der Sound der Speed Twin von dem der Triumph Scrambler? Irgendwie hören die sich auf Videos doch unterschiedlich an, hatte ich den Eindruck.
Looks like a generally excellent bike. I'm not too keen on the lack of suspension adjustability, but from your video (which are the god of motorcycling's verdict on how a bike handles) the setup seemed good, Schööfl.
the rear shocks are pre load adjustable - its just that the spring rate is so heavy that adjusting them to anywhere higher than the lowest setting seems pointless.
Love your videos! What was your preference between the RnineT and the speed twin
This road is insaaane. No traffic, forest, nature puuure naaagic
Thanks
Gorgeous road. wow.
thanks
Yes! There it is! Glad you liked it! I still love mine to bits! I'm very curious where you would rank it between the Thruxton RS, R Nine T (pure?) and the Kawasaki Z900rs
I'd say from an objective POV it's second after the Kawa. From my enjoyment POV it's also second but after the BMW
It's good sounds!
Thanks a lot mate :)
Its à Nice bike but I loved when u rode your old cb500 !
Yeah me too
sound of twin is the best sound
Treat to ears
Hi, mega Video! Ist das der originale Schalldämpfer oder wurde hier was nachgerüstet?
I passed my test in early Jan and was looking for my first bike.
I tried
Triumph Speed Twin
Triumph Bonneville T120
Kawasaki Z900 RS
Ducati Scrambler 1100
Triumph Scrambler 1200 XE
In the end i bought the Speed Twin, so easy to ride and so happy to ride fast or slow.
I forget how quick it is sometimes!
I'm happy to ride slow but now and then you have to open up to overtake something and the Speed Twin does it without needing to drop a gear! It'll even easily accelerate in 6th gear! Love this bike and it's mass torque! Great bike!
Just what I need for a good sleep
Good night!
Would love to know the setup.
Do you use auxiliary microphone near exhaust ?
Love your videos dude! Beautiful content, nice roads, gorgeous bikes! Im i may ask, how did you like the speed twin? For somone in Thier mid 30s, living in NYC would you recommend it
It's a lovely bike for sure
Just curious, where do you get all these loaner bikes? Your company rents them or is the manufacturers that want to lend them for reviews? Or each bike is different? Love the video keep it up!
He works for this company, I think that should explain everything. ;) ruclips.net/user/1000psdevideos
ruclips.net/video/A_lVU5NGIUY/видео.html thanks!
My dream bike, my next bike
Great choice
Hey Schaaf thanks for another great RAW, any chance we get to see you riding the Aprilia Tuareg?
Unfortunately ruclips.net/video/A_lVU5NGIUY/видео.html
Which one do you prefer between the Thruxton and the Speed twin, now that you have ridden them both? Cheers
If you were to pick between speed twin 1200 and Ninja 1000sx, which one will it be and why.
Do you mind me asking how you recorded the sound for this video ? Thanks
Two questions; is there any reason to buy the most recent Speedy or are the 2019, 2020 and 2021 versions also good? And is it possible to take longer trips on this bike (500-1000km per day)?
500km is possible. But 1000 will be a hard challenge (for me personally)
Excelent machine!!motorbike!!!!👌🏼👌🏼👌🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👍👍💪💪💪💪🚀🚀🚀🚀🚀🚀
thanks Sergio!
What's with the popping and banging, sounds like it's running really lean ???
Awesome vid Schaff. Are you doing clutchless up shifts?
Sorry, bad name spelling 😅
Yes
wena schaaf, maquina
OK
Love the pops on the decel. Whoa, you filmed cleaning the go pro with the go pro?
cleaning the ND filter ;)
@@Schaaf Right, I forgot about that. You had a video explaining its use.
besides that I do appreciate your RAW Onboard videos, why don't you turn on image stabilization like hypersmoothing... Pls do, so I won't get anymore headaches while watching your gorgeous clips! thx & bless you and your only one remaining kidney :)
You see where I live when you ride around the roads that look like this deer jump out of the trees right in front of you. Sometimes they run right into you. I used to rode my Sporster around the back roads in North East Wisconsin and The Upper Peninsula of Michigan. Had many close calls w/deer.
Same here
So which would you pick, this or the thruxton ?
Hi Schaaf, what FPS / Shutterspeed do you run your GoPRO at with ND filtres?
auto
Schaaf, there are a lot of videos showing you riding much more faster naked motorcycles than the speed twin. It looks heavy, hefty. Even the acceleration doesn't look appealing. Nevertheless, I think it’s a nice bike for relaxing riding, just to enjoy the exhaust sound while going to the café shop.
Thanks
I love the speed twin. Tbh I've considered swapping my rninet for one but I'm not sure. What's your opinion?
My neighbor got a RNineT lite. Same motor as the "normal" ones and little difference to the others.
I've ridden it and my conclusion was:
I prefer my Speed Twin. I like the position better (a little more sporty than the RNineT) which gives more feeling of the front.
The motors are comparable performance wise, but I've felt a little more nervousness in the RNineT down low than the Speed Twin.
Both are beautiful bikes but I liked the look of the Speed Twin better. in jet black she looks even more classic.
Both are exceptional bikes and in the end the preferred look was the main key. And that's in everyone's own subjective eye.
The sound reminded me of my pitbike 😀
Cool
Nice riding, Schaaf! As always.
Did you use the Sport mapping?
yes!
How's the vibrations from the tank and seat during accelarating?
No issues
in 2022 the speed twin is 1200cc right?
O escapamento é original?
I gotta say it sounds amazing, especially for a twin. I wonder if the crankshaft pin is shared or offset?
No idea
I think it's a 180° offset
270º
@@al__ejandro9656 Ah ha! I knew it wasn't a perfectly even firing order.
Wow the sound is isn't exactly as the RE Interceptor, but sounds so similar!
Thanks
If money no object: Speed Twin or Thruxton?
They don’t look like they should handle as well as they do. A shock when you ride one. Great bike!
thanks
