The 2.0L 4-cylinder NA engine with 6MT in the hatchback is the sweet spot. No high-pressure fuel pump, no direct injection, and no turbo and proven K20C2 engine without oil dilution issues and with port injection and a timing chain are all good for long-term serviceability and reliability.
Maybe so but the complexity of the turbocharger, direct injection, and high pressure fuel pump remain. All are detrimental to long term reliability and cost.

Everyone told me a marriage is strongly tested if you try to teach your wife to drive stick. But she was awesome and picked it up in no time and drove like a champ. I guess some things don't change... it was such an easy car to learn in and it seems you feel that is still the case. Does not surprise me. We've moved on to BMWs now ('18 X3, '20 M340) but we were all Honda before that with two Civics, an Accord and his and hers CRVs (including the original '97... one of the best vehicles I ever owned despite the lack of power). If my daughter would hurry up and get her licence the Civic is one of the two possible cars we would buy for her.
Honda has been selling the manual for the same price as the automatic for a long time (at least in the US). The reason that was given to me was that the manual has become more expensive than the automatics because of economies of scale.
One thing about the civic is it is now a lot more canadian and american made. While they probably save on shipping those are good union jobs so it's not shocking that they cost a little more. That said I had a 17 hatchback and I didn't pay anywhere close to the base turbo price you mentioned. I think that was sport touring pricing there
January 11th, new Honda Civic received North American sedan of the year. Well deserved honour, since this car checks more boxes for potential buyers than its competition. There are so many variations of this car. Want power, SI & Type R are upcoming soon, want plenty of tech with digital gauges, wireless connectivity and luxury there are the Touring trims of both the Hatchback & Civic Sedan. New Honda Civic has captured the benchmark for others to follow.
Ive been looking at this too in Canada and the price really is the only thing holding me back. I feel the lower trims aren't quite worth the money. I can get a fully loaded non turbo mazda 3 hatch for less but the civic is much more practical.
I think Honda knows that those who keep their cars or drive a lot will choose a Civic over a GTI because of reliability and this knowledge has made them bold in charging more for a civc. As well as MPG.
Recently just got the sport touring in sonic grey! Waited 2 months for it and man!! Totally worth the wait! As someone who switched from 10th gen to 11th gen, I have to say Honda did an excellent job refining the civic. Everything from driver experience to design and technologies. I used to hate the look of the new civic but it grew on me over time. One small thing I noticed is, the Canadian version get the heated steering wheel and front splash guards, the U.S. doesn't.
Yea I had to purchase all 4 of the splash guards on my own. When I got it I noticed there was no heated steering wheel. I thought it came with the touring.
The pricing is definitely off. A lot of people around here in Ottawa also mentioned that very one thing first. With Acura bringing back the Integra and it being based on the Civic it leaves me wondering what the starting price will be for that?😳 With inflation the way it is and the terrible situation our economy is in, I think their sales will take a hit. I would much rather drive my 2019 Mazda 3 AWD or even the new turbo model. Much better ride, interior and you get AWD. If you want more power and sporty feel get the GTI, if you want a better interior and quiet drive get the Mazda. Honda has been smoking some great Canadian cannabis. Cdn Vet
As for the pricing, there was a recent Reddit thread where some people compared the price of a RAV4 XLE Hybrid AWD to a Civic Hatchback Sport Touring, after fees and taxes, and the difference was only $1254 CAD. The manual is the only reason to choose the Civic, otherwise the RAV4 is far and away the better daily driver (especially with gas prices the way they are), it has AWD for Canadian winters, and will be even more reliable to boot.
@@dannybishop68 I mean, that's true, but in terms of a value proposition, the RAV4 XLE Hybrid AWD is simply a far better vehicle than the Civic. The real problem is that a Civic is reaching RAV4 XLE Hybrid AWD prices when the gap should be closer to $4k ~ $5k CAD.
The day pricing matters, everyone will drive 4 year old Corollas. Until then, most people will keep buying cars they don't need with the money they don't have to impress people they don't know.
Couldn’t agree more. I’m driving a ‘19 Civic LX Hatchback manual with the TURBO which I love . The ‘22 LX hatchback is several dollars more and with only the 2 L. Sure it has a bit more equipment but what gives?! (Great to see you doing the three pedal thing, Andrea!)
I was shopping for a Ridgeline yesterday, and the new civic hatch was parked next to it. This colour of blue looks great in person. Good review once again.👍🇨🇦
I enjoy your videos and I bought the 2022 Ex model civic sedan before the prices went up I got a great deal with my civic In September it was $25,715.00 I got mine for 13,626.66 after trade in value for my 2017 Honda Civic now in December it had 2200 miles on it Currently I went from a regular engine to a turbo engine in September it had 10 miles on it I enjoy the car now the same car is more expensive than when I got it back in September my car came from Japan from the factory to me
So I really wanted the Honda Civic hatchback. Went for a test drive and just didn’t like it. Got back to dealership and they wanted $34,567. I said no. Then I remembered your review of the Hyundai Kona nline. Went and test drove. Loved it. I’m sad to say honda is losing its way on fun to drive. The Kona was $33,156. Thank you for the help. 😊❤️🚘
Dude, if you bought a Kona instead of this car, you are not a car fan at all!!! The Kona have less cargo, less passenger space, meh styling (subjective) and a laughable residual value! Not even stating the driving experience!!
Thanks for the review Andrea and Zack! It's interesting to see that Honda is still offering a manual on a model that is not an Si or Type R. At the $31,500k price in Canada for a Civic! It makes you wonder what the new Acura Integra will actually be priced at!
I live in Victoria on Vancouver Island. Guys in Honda told me, they do not know when are they getting any hatches, that they will definitely not get any manuals unless someone purchase it in advance. So I asked: so how am I going to test drive the car, because I really want to buy it? They said the chance you test drive it is very slim......What kind of crap is that. How the hell do they plan to sell anything?
It's been a couple of months and I still hardly see any Civics of this generation out on the road. The supply crunch must be hitting hard, that's unusual for Civics.
Currently own a MK7.5 R waiting for my new R to arrive in February and can say it has been vastly more reliable than the Si I drove previously. I'll never buy another cheap Japanese econ box again.
Great points in this video, unfortunately Honda missed the mark on pricing... and not having a Si hatchback. 40K for a top trim sport touring hatch is laughable!
Honda is skilled at re-purposing. My 2012 Acura TSX Sport Wagon is a re-badged Euro Honda Accord, built to a very high standard. This new Civic hatchback is very cool, and the gearbox reminds me of my beloved 2005 RSX. Thanks for these great reviews.
Couple months back we were picking up our new CRV and I asked him how the new Civic was selling (I have a '19 Si). He said he only sold 3 of them (and it was the 20th). Everyone was buying the 10th Gen Civic because the rates were too good to pass up. They're too just expensive and with the "new car rates" (5% lease rate!!! [mind you GTI is the same]) its only about $30 more per month to get a GTI (top trim) PERFORMANCE with the DSG. When I leased my '19 Si that was a $65/mnth difference. Obviously I ended up with the Si but I can tell you it would be a different story today (and in another year when my lease is up). I too however worry about the reliability of VW. Especially in light of the new numbers that just came out today - VW I think was like bottom in the bottom 5 this year. Ouch! But hey, I'm leasing so its only got to make it 4 years. :)
I see Canada gets the nice colors. We only get monochrome black, white or boring grey in the USA if we choose the Manual option on the Touring Hatch. (UPDATE) US finally gets the boost blue with the manual in place of black for 2023.
Always enjoy the reviews. I just looked at a 2022 Civic Touring 5 door in stock in Victoria BC Canada. Numbers are accurate with the MSRP showing $35,000 plus $300 premium color (racing blue) $1700 delivery charge = $37,000 CAD. 18” wheels and CVT. Fancy with heating steering wheel and heated front and rear seats. As a 2017 Civic Type R owner I am looking forward to the new Type R.
This is a very practical car and many people are looking for that, while others are looking for sportiness, GTI so I guess both cars have different audiences that's all.
The manual is the one to get. Too bad local dealers here in my area are price gouging big time. They want $3K over MSRP for a Sport with manual transmission. What thieves.
what i never liked about VW is the electrical problems that it always have, after 2-3 years it start acting up and expensive to deal with. Honda has always been easy to fix and DYI at a very reasonable price to fix or upgrade. With the over pricing at the moment, might have til wait til fll 2022 for decent price. All the dealers in texas is over charging no matter what car it is, not cool.
That is the exact car (with a manual) minus that blue color. (Actually according to the website, in the US you can only get the manual Sports Touring in black, white or gray.) Thanks for the review. I never considered the GTI due to the reliability of VW's but may look at them before buying another Honda. (I see the new Civic SI was released and starts under what this car starts at, but naturally it isn't a hatchback.)
Great video! I have been waiting for this review from you guys! Zack was disappointed from the last gen civic hatch sport because it needed a premium gas its good to know it no longer needed. Also Honda will always argue with the pricing comparing it from the Gti and its the reliability. 😁
I checked one out with a fine tooth comb. The things that made me say no: uncomfortable seats, large panel gaps, slow starting radio, high cabin noise, and flimsy wipers. It just shows cutting corners and sloppy build quality.
Hey whats another vehicle that starts at $31,500? Acura ilx (has 200hp n/a and a dct with much better looks and almost the same features as a civic). Dont know why everyone craps on it when you cant argue with that price point. Thats why i got one last year.
I got a sport touring and I’m very happy!!! I was a VW guy! I don’t think you guys compare the good cars together! A GTI need to be compared to a Si…The dual clutch is no a perfect transmission at all!! actually the CVT from Honda is better for everyday driving and have a lot more cargo space!! And the interior of the GTI is so annoying!!! The Si drive better actually !! Anyway! for the hatchback corrola, very small vehicule with an interior and assembly quality not even in the same league of the civic…The closer competition is from the Mazda 3. And even then, the interior is clostrophobic and they can give you better pricing because of the 2010 engine and transmission they have! After testing them all, i’ve chose the Civic, and I think it’s the best daily driver on the market right now!
@@TheRealJohnWack actually I don’t have anything bad to say about the DCT! It’s a very good and quick transmission but maintenance wise it’s more demanding! I was expecting a sluggish and slow response with the CVT but it’s not the case, very quick and always in the proper power band! Im actually very surprised with how the cvt performs!
The pricing is probably due to the Integra - if a well-equipped Civic is much cheaper, no one will buy the Integra, but if it is only a bit higher, people might make the jump to Acura.
Great review. You hit the nail on the head with the pricing structure, makes zero sense. Also, can't believe the SI sedan is cheaper than the Sport Touring hatch. Wish there was an SI hatch.
In 2016 a base civic was around 18 grand US and a Fit was around 16. Now the cheapest honda is like 22 grand! I dont know if they are "trying to go premium" like Mazda, but they are pricing out their low end buyers. Some people just like the peace of mind of a new car with a warranty, but dont want to spend 6 arms and a leg on it.
I was looking for a place to put in a fireplace for those cold days. Meaning I wonder if they have fixed the problems with no heat in cold climates(on no they fixed that..bs... fuel dilution..like tightening the nut on the steering wheel to prevent the wheels from falling off). Aside from that, I do love the new interior. Thank g they got rid of that ugly instrument panel they had for ages. It just looks like a nice place for a long drive and 3 pedals on the floor is a nice touch. Honda did the right thing progressing back to simple but effective knobs. Unlike VW.
Whenever I think of hatchback I still think of a smaller golf styled vehicle instead of a rounded off sedan with a rear hatch. Zack is right … more of a sport back. Looks nice though and the colour is nice!!
Leather interior is not available in the GTI until you are at the top trim level. Other than the horsepower difference the Civic Sport Touring is an overall better purchase. Honda also offers way better warranty options as well as better overall reliability. This is coming from a VW lover.
Yeah, I thought their price comparisons were pretty lame, at least for prices here in the U.S. The Civic hatchback starts at around $5k less than the GTI in the U.S., and if you load them both up, the difference is around $8k. Sounds like Hondas are considerably more expensive in Canada than in the U.S. As for their warranties, I think VW offers a 4 year/50k bumper to bumper warranty, while Honda offers a 3 year/36k bumper to bumper. Honda does offer a 5 year/60k power train warranty though, which VW doesn't. Neither one can touch the warranties offered by Hyundai/Kia.
I do work for a Honda/acura and own a 16’ ILX with the dual clutch. I agree with Zack. Love it with the 2.4 I believe the integra is the ILX replacement. Essentially a downsizing of the TLX💁🏻♂️ not sure I’ll trade up until they drop off the trucks and i drive one. Hopefully it comes with a 6spd🙇♂️
The hatch is an EPA Large/Fullsize car at 123 sq ft total interior volume. I don’t believe you’re talking about NHTSA classification by weight, because nobody routinely describes passenger cars as “medium” or “heavy” as opposed to “compact”.
To touch on the Instagram comment about the same price for manual versus automatic, Subaru in the United States actually charges about $1,500 more for people who want to manual transmission. I guess it comes down to gouging the few people left that really want a manual.
Manual costs more because of economies of scale. Costs more per car due to low volume. The extra price tag sucks, but it's better than when they eliminate the option entirely
I would rather get the 2022 Kia Forte GT Limited hatchback with the 7 speed dual clutch 1.6 turbo engine for 27595...shame on you for not mentioning it
Love this hatch and solves all the prior gen’s styling issues, especially the rear. Honda learns the lesson that car fans want real buttons! VW says, let’s try that no button thing, Honda probably just did it wrong!
Iirc, back in '92, the top of the line Civic EXV sedan had an msrp of $25K cdn . Same sticker shock back then. They eventually blew them out at $20K at the end of the year. They only had the EXV in Canada for 1 yr.
Always hard to tell where you’re getting your pricing information which can be a little loony for us living stateside but here in the U.S. the new Honda hatch starts at $22,900 while the VW GTI starts at $30,540. Now you can option up the Honda to $29,400 but you can also take the GTI up to $38,000 which is type R territory. Personally I think it’s all gotten a little out of hand especially since you’re not likely to be able to buy any brand new car these days at anything close to list. Expect to pay a “market adjustment” or “additional markup” premium of several thousand dollars.
In Canada Civic hatch 28k to 35K GTI 31K to 41K And a Type R more expensive the the Golf R Also in Canada its illegal the charge any ''market adjusment''
Thanks for the video! I love this car, but really can't agree with the price and Honda canada's pricing strategy for the entire Civic line. Not everyone can afford a Civic at 30+k out the door. Funny that you guys mention GTI so much, but at this price it would be silly not to look at it. I'm not a VW fan and their reliability scares me, but that's another conversation for another day. As for the Civic hatchback's styling cues, didn't anyone notice details from old Hondas? Squint a bit and you'll see the profile of 1st and 2nd gen Accord hatchbacks, especially the slight reverse tilt of the front grille. Also, the interior looks a bit first-gen Civic too. Maybe I'm just too old and nostalgic.
If you lease for a 3-4 years GTI is fine, but if you're buying a car for 10+ years, the realiablity/maintaince cost of the GTI kills the deal over the Civic imo.
Way to go Andrea! I haven't driven a stick in what seems like decades, not sure when the last time was. When I was looking for new car I did end up test driving a manual Mini Cooper S. I was a bit afraid to drive it since it's been a while. I didn't did good and I didn't stall or anything! To me it really seemed so easy to drive stick in these modern cars than it did when I first learned in early to mid 90s. As for the pricing yes it's ridiculous. I'll agree with Zack about getting a GTI instead, but not with the MK8. That's a disappoinment in my eyes. There's just too many negatives to overlook.
With the sedan/HB market shrinking, Honda has reduced model configurations to concentrate on the models that sell the best. I can’t go with a VW because of their reliability issues according to JD Powers and consumer reports.
I'm with you on the VW. I went to a GTI from a Honda just over a decade ago, having been an exclusive Honda owner for 20 years up to that point. The ownership experience was horrible. As much fun as the GTI was to drive, the poor overall quality of it and piss poor dealer servicing and dealing with them (every VW dealer around was a PITA to deal with, and I heard the same from other VW owners in my area) I was done after 4 years. Bought a Honda again and glad I did. Back to great reliability, great quality and responsive dealer servicing, have me permanently crossed off VW as a brand I'd ever consider again.
I would love for the gti to be remotely as reliable as a civic. But it doesn't matter who's collecting the data, vw reliability has been, and continues to be, dismal. If vw hasn't stepped up the quality by now, it's unlikely they ever will. "Quality" to me does not mean the first 2 or 3 yrs, I want to know they're still reliable at yr 10 or 15 - so it's going to take a long time for vw to prove they're capable of that.
I think the markup on the GTI will be prohibitive to make it comparable to the Honda Civic Hatch ST. As a former VW GTI and Golf R owner, I’m more impressed by the interior of the Honda as the Mk8 Golf seems to be more gimmicky and less premium now.
Love Canada Drives Ginger Ale! Love the discussion section too! Great job! Between my Civic Type R, and my VW Sportwagen, I'll bet on the Honda at 200,000-plus miles.

Mazda Miata in Canada is the same price for manual or automatic. Also, economies of scale - so few manuals are sold so as sales go down the cost can't be amortized in high sales numbers. So in reality in modern times - the CVT and automatics should be cheaper.
Yes, I have seen so many other RUclipsrs reviews about this car, but you are the only ones pointing out the high prices. Many also don't point out the rev hang issue. I have also pointed out the price relative to the GTI, and that it's a no brainer to get a GTI instead. The civic sport touring is just flat out overpriced. Also, I have previously mentioned the great DCT transmission in the Acura ILX. Furthermore, I have previously commented about if Acura put a CVT transmission in the new Integra, that would be terrible. In short, we are on the same page with this car, as well as the related points with the GTI and Integra. I would also add that with all things considered (especially price), I would also choose the Mazda 3 over the civic.
13:18 to be fair, from engineering POV, CVT is superior compared to traditional torque converter automatic in many aspects. Let’s not forget, F1 banned the use of CVT because Williams was so much faster than everybody else when they tested it. Of course, in day to day vehicles, the CVT needs to be reliable, and fuel efficiency is most important. Perhaps that is why mass produced CVT feels so sluggish, and unrewarding to drive.
The debate is pointless at this point because if you buy a car with an internal combustion engine now, next vehicle you will buy will be an EV mostlikely which does not have a transmission at all.
I was a vw DSG fan all the way and hated the CVT in my wife 2014 civic, but this one have no comparative…its night and day and a better choice for everyday driving because let’s not forger, thats why 98% of people buy car

While I'm a fan of Honda, if the price of this Civic is the same as a GTI, well, it's a no brainer. Get the GTI and enjoy!
The pricing is definitely off. A lot of people around here in Ottawa also mentioned that very one thing first.
With Acura bringing back the Integra and it being based on the Civic it leaves me wondering what the starting price will be for that?😳
With inflation the way it is and the terrible situation our economy is in, I think their sales will take a hit.
Cdn Vet
The Civic looks better than all of those cars and is also more reliable. The GTI has one of the worst reliability rankings in the entire market
Except for handling . The civic will naturally handle better than any small suv. Some people don't want suvs
@@gns942 well it depends on which civic because the civic type r coming out will be a much better vehicle
The day pricing matters, everyone will drive 4 year old Corollas. Until then, most people will keep buying cars they don't need with the money they don't have to impress people they don't know.

The thing about the Civic, is even though it's a great car, it's lost its "cheap car" status, meaning it's not as affordable as one might think.
Yes, but this model in particular prove that it is not in the cheap car category anyway!
Thanks, it was fun!
I was shopping for a Ridgeline yesterday, and the new civic hatch was parked next to it. This colour of blue looks great in person. Good review once again.👍🇨🇦
I enjoy your videos and I bought the 2022 Ex model civic sedan before the prices went up I got a great deal with my civic
In September it was $25,715.00 I got mine for 13,626.66 after trade in value for my 2017 Honda Civic now in December it had 2200 miles on it Currently I went from a regular engine to a turbo engine in September it had 10 miles on it I enjoy the car now the same car is more expensive than when I got it back in September my car came from Japan from the factory to me
That Civic interior is a winner.
Good feedback, thanks
Dude, if you bought a Kona instead of this car, you are not a car fan at all!!! The Kona have less cargo, less passenger space, meh styling (subjective) and a laughable residual value! Not even stating the driving experience!!
Thanks for the review Andrea and Zack! It's interesting to see that Honda is still offering a manual on a model that is not an Si or Type R. At the $31,500k price in Canada for a Civic! It makes you wonder what the new Acura Integra will actually be priced at!
Probably a lot, and for what’s shaping up to be a gussied up Civic Si.
Well the top trim Civic hatch is $35k so Integra will probably be close to $40k.

Why did Honda stop making the two door? That was the most iconic Civic. I have a 2012 two door and love it.
Completely agree with the ridiculousness of only having blind spot monitoring/rear cross traffic alert on the higher trims.
I live in new england there are barely any 2020 civic . I have a 19 sport hatch so I notice these things.
Go drive it and compare to competition! I agree it still a bit overpriced, but not to the point you mentioned! I bought this over an Accord!!
The only thing Honda missed was the Sport trim has a 2.0L, but the Touring Sport has a 1.5L. I think they messed up in production and rolled with it.
Agreed, it is overpriced with the 1.5 l engine.
I love Andrea, she's always smiling.
Thanks for sharing!
Wow really. My local dealer in BC has red and this same Racing Blue in stock.
Spot on. The new interior was one of the reasons my wife went with another brand when she traded in her Mk6 GTI this year.
It's a step down from the GTI for sure in handling, power and fun factor.
@@janoycresnova9156 for sure
The manual is the one to get. Too bad local dealers here in my area are price gouging big time. They want $3K over MSRP for a Sport with manual transmission. What thieves.
The new civic hatchback certainly makes a good case for the GTI. What a shame about the pricing. The base LX hatchback starting at 28K is too high.
what i never liked about VW is the electrical problems that it always have, after 2-3 years it start acting up and expensive to deal with. Honda has always been easy to fix and DYI at a very reasonable price to fix or upgrade. With the over pricing at the moment, might have til wait til fll 2022 for decent price. All the dealers in texas is over charging no matter what car it is, not cool.
by the way great video!!! this one is in my top when i ready to bite the bullet.
The EX-L is a better value and gets you the 1.5L turbo. Here is the USA, it is priced at $27600 with destination.
I checked one out with a fine tooth comb. The things that made me say no: uncomfortable seats, large panel gaps, slow starting radio, high cabin noise, and flimsy wipers. It just shows cutting corners and sloppy build quality.
You guys are absolute gems 💎
Thanks!
You guys are the best. Have there been mechanical issues with the GTI certain years? If so, is it not a big deal?
What do you like about the CVT over DCT? I ask, because considering trading my Veloster N for a Sport Touring.
No one will buy Integra anyways. It's a rebadged Civic basically for much more.
@@janoycresnova9156 The cheap acura's for a while were always rebadged civics. CSX, RSX, ILX, and now the Integra
Good that way no one buy either.
Great review. You hit the nail on the head with the pricing structure, makes zero sense. Also, can't believe the SI sedan is cheaper than the Sport Touring hatch. Wish there was an SI hatch.
By the number of these I see in Ottawa the price seems not to be a factor
I think it's because of the stigma that it's a Civic, hence why people would get it regardless of the price.
@@joshuaeitan3746 Stigma means shame, or disgrace, so that doesn't sound like a good reason for people to buy a car, regardless of the price.
What do you think is the easiest colour to maintain SGP, White or Meteor Grey? Great review btw!
Whhhhyyyy does Honda not offer this Boost Blue Sport Touring manual trans in the US?! 😫
The main advantage that civic has over the gti is that it's not a vw...just sayin
Unlike VW.
Works very well, lots of heat! so yess probably thet sort it out, just passing the coldest weeks of the year here in Canada! (-20 to -30c)
Whenever I think of hatchback I still think of a smaller golf styled vehicle instead of a rounded off sedan with a rear hatch.
Zack is right … more of a sport back.
Looks nice though and the colour is nice!!
Rev hang ..is caused by the turbo not the transmission , it’s unspent fuel, the Subaru WRX has the same issue
Only noticeable with the manual.
@@Motormouth... your are correct sir
Good review.
I like the GTI too, but it’s just too small and I need the extra room that the Civic offers.
Japanese companies tend to trade some performance for reliability - I wouldn't touch a VW with a barge pole if you want something that will last.
Talk about getting bigger and bigger! It’s HUGE!….compared to 10 years ago
Just get a GTI! I got my dark iron blue 2020 GTI Autobahn 6 sp MT with 6400 miles for 29,500 back in March from a VW dealership.
Nah it's a step back design wise
I have a 2008 civic and they put in a new engine at 60,000 miles...reading now stands at 84,000. So I am driving a 2008 with 24,000 miles on it.
Iirc, back in '92, the top of the line Civic EXV sedan had an msrp of $25K cdn . Same sticker shock back then. They eventually blew them out at $20K at the end of the year. They only had the EXV in Canada for 1 yr.
I have a friend who had a Honda Civic from Canada 105 years ago & under the hood everything said Acura.
In Canada Civic hatch 28k to 35K
GTI 31K to 41K
And a Type R more expensive the the Golf R
Also in Canada its illegal the charge any ''market adjusment''
Would get a GTI but value the interior space of the Civic and the lack of stupid touch screens.
Yup... VW quality is junk! Honda or Toyota only for me.
@@sk-un5jq Yup. Elephant in the room with any German car. They have lost their minds on reliability.
The Civic Hatchback Sport Touring w/ the HPD package is basically the Civic SI without the badging.
JD Power and Consumer reports is a joke.
@@bigmacdaddy1234 VW is garbage quality. I'll take Honda over VW any day.
VW has a good quality now. It's not early 2000. It's Honda whose quality has gone to the toilet over the years. Quit living in the past guys.
I’m a VW guy too and Im thinking the exact same way!!

What about reliability Civid vs. VW and cost of servicing? Guessing Civid beats VW.
I really want to trade my 2019 civic sedan for the hatch in 6 speed manual!
